Broncos, Ravens, Chiefs - Can the Bills run through this gauntlet.
Boatdrinks replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
It doesn’t matter what you want. Or me, or any of us. Thats it. The only thing that matters ( as you alluded too) is what Terry wants. Yeah, we know he wants a SuperBowl win, and he knows how good Josh is. Short of that Championship, it’s if and when he decides a change is necessary at Head Coach, or GM or whatever. His confidence level, not ours will dictate this. If we don’t like it, we can follow a different team. It sounds harsh , but that’s the reality. -
Pretty good role player. Wasn’t interested in him at the Bills spot and still wouldn’t have taken him.
-
It certainly wasn’t enough, but probably all they’re capable of. They look like a one and done unless they play HOU or something like that. Fortunately, the rankings of national observers have zero impact on which team(s) end up in New Orleans.

Not too many teams put up undefeated seasons in the NFL, in case you didn’t know it. Thats what it would take to secure the 1 seed this year. If you want to be angry about something , it should be the NFL and their elimination of the bye week for the 2 seed in the playoffs. For no other reason than pure greed. Unfortunately it coincided with Josh Allen becoming well, Josh Allen. Thats a bummer for Bills fans.

They won’t have a choice but to run whatever gauntlet the final seeding and game results dictate. -
If you mean the Bills know they don’t need to use/ show things that they will use in the playoffs to win this game then you’re correct.

Yes, they are. They own a business that is guaranteed to make a large profit every year. Yes there is a reason why every NFL teams wants a Josh Allen. The QB far outweighs the importance of any other player on the team: that’s the nature of the sport. It doesn’t guarantee a Super Bowl Trophy - or even an appearance in the big game- but it makes it a lot more likely. Hardly a revelation there. The game is entertainment, and it’s a lot more entertaining when it is played well. -

Breaking News : it doesn’t matter. At all. Internal pressure from ownership, that’s about all that matters. If ownership thinks something needs to change, amazingly changes happen. Why pretend that fans opinions amount to anything? They were not good enough to go 17-1. And they didn’t - KC did. That is the difference in the seeding. -

Josh Allen isn’t the Bills only player, but I get it. I suspect that’s why most teams spend every waking minute trying to find a Josh Allen of their own. They don’t grow on trees or every team would have one. It still doesn’t guarantee a first round bye or a Super Bowl berth. Sometimes you have a great year and your top competitor goes 17-1 . -

Right? Apparently better roster building, better coaching and an enraged fan base will prevent the Chiefs from losing just 1 game or get the to Bills an undefeated season! Thats all we need to be guaranteed a Super Bowl berth. -
I wouldn’t read too much into it. Late season game vs division opponent going nowhere. Lots of reasons why this may not be a high scoring affair.

I doubt it. I think Josh Allen has made his case amongst the voters for MVP. If the Bills beat the NYJ and lock in the #2 overall seed in the AFC , I’d venture that Allen wins the MVP by a solid margin.

Chiefs @ Steelers (no Bills talk in here please)

Will He Reinvent Himself: Coach Sean McDermott
Boatdrinks replied to waterglass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Of course. He hasn’t had an all pro caliber hit on the DL . Milano was elite at LB but he’s been injured and isn’t the same player. Beane has to shoulder blame for lack of elite DL or game changing LB ( Milano’s best days are behind him) He’s making the picks -
Completely different group of voters for Pro Bowl

I don’t think it’s the scheme. When the Bills D is playing badly, I’m seeing guys just flat out getting beat. That’s not scheme, it’s a lack of talent. -
My take: If KC beats Pittsburgh on Wednesday…

I think if the Bills and Steelers flipped spots , you could argue it would be a better path for the Bills . Home vs LAC, @ PIT, Home AFCCC vs BAL /@KC- which they could have to do anyway -

I don’t think it’s as simple as that- the Bengals need more to happen than just winning out and Denver losing to the Chiefs. They need a very specific set of outcomes and that’s why they’re 10th in the AFC with around an 8% chance to get in. -
Yup. It can’t be that McD feasts on bad opponents while also playing down to them. Which one is it ?
-
Yeah , the Bills have to be careful to retain that 2 seed. It did look like today was pretty vanilla as far as game plan is concerned. Not surprising vs a 3-11 pats squad. I still think the Texans were the least likely of KC’s final 3 games to get a win. The game was in KC and they look like a one and done playoff team to me. I’d expect a much tougher game for KC vs the Steelers and Broncos. Unlikely that they drop both, but if the Steelers win on Wednesday then you have to go into week 18 with all hands on deck.
-
They do, but they also don’t tend to score a ton of points on offense. The Bills definitely live - and die - by a bit of a formula. Get a lead on offense and force the opponent to pass a lot. They depend on Josh Allen and his almost routine heroics to win. This isn’t going to change come playoff time.
-
The Chiefs have capitalized on lots of dumb plays by opponents this year. If you even occasionally watch KC games you know this. It’s said that they “ find ways to win”. Now, the Chiefs D is better than Buffalo’s but KCs ways of winning appear unsustainable too.

Yes it is. Kenny Pickett looked pretty good in year 1 for the Steelers.
