  1. Douglas wasnt a name I’d heard or seen following the trade rumors etc the last few days. I think this was a sneaky good get by Beane at probably the Bills biggest need position on D. I felt they needed two things to compete down the stretch -1. figure out the offense and include a lot more Josh Allen. 2. Acquire a reliable CB to replace T White. This seems to fit the bill.
  2. The Bills probably need to get 10 wins to make it, maybe 11. Hardly out of the realm, even with their schedule. They’ve got to win their remaining home games almost without question. They also have a very good home record in the Allen era - behind only KC and Denver the past 5 seasons. A road game at SoFi is a De facto home game for the visitors. They need to pick up at least one win vs CIN, PHL, or KC. It’s not an easy schedule, but not unrealistic at all.
  3. I’ll take the boring over the constant Mahomes ballwashing. Even in games that don’t involve Mahomes. Collinsworth is unbearably awful.
  4. The Bills are capable of playing much better. They were hardly at their best that day. The game at CIN was 7-3 , no? The Bills moved the ball well on their one possession and just missed a first down that would have put them in prime position to score. Lots of folks act like you could pencil in the entire remainder of that game , which is a fools errand. Are most NFL rematch games between two opponents exactly the same as the last meeting ? Of course not. The Bills were outclassed and outcoached in every way in the playoff game - there’s no denying that. Maybe the Bills are doomed to replicate that awful performance, but I doubt it. The Bills and Bengals ( current versions) hardly have a long history or track record of this. It was literally one very bad game. Not that I need to offer up any reason why one single game would be a referendum on an entire franchise and coaching staff - it’s not. I know we didn’t see the best from the Bills that day - we’ve seen them perform much better vs good NFL teams. They showed some good things in their last game as far as getting their offensive concept together. I’m not guaranteeing they win the game; far from it actually. However I don’t see any reason why they would have virtually no chance , as so many on this board seem to believe. You’d think it was the 70’s Dolphins vs the 70’s Bills or something. With a long way to go , I would add. This isn’t week fifteen. There’s a LOT of football to be played.
  5. First mistake : listening to anyone on ESPN. It’s hot take city these days , not reasoned football talk. I suppose their bad start - of which they’ve made a habit - can be excused away ? It’s funny , any time possible reasons are given for the Bills issues they are called excuses. The negativity and fatalism on this board is something to behold. Must be some sort of defense mechanism. Anyway, the line is not .. well, out of line . It sounds about right for two NFL teams in their current situations. Folks need to put their BBFS aside for a moment when looking at these things.
  6. OMG they took the football after winning the toss ? Get out of here , I don’t believe it. That’s it then , the games over ! It may as well not even be played! What a slap in the face that is , you know - trying to score first ? No one even does that anymore. Man o man, the Bills are cooked in this one folks. Don’t bother watching, better off to get a jump on your online Christmas shopping . Why waste time watching your Bills get blown out by an obviously superior opponent? So you think the Bills looked at their best vs JAX ? I don’t , and thought they were capable of much more. Even - wait for it - winning the game !
  7. Maybe. The Bills are 5-3, have Josh Allen at QB and have a + 86 point differential. CIN is at home ( usu good for a point and a half ) and are 4-3. They have a point differential of - 13. This line seems about right. Maybe it goes to -2 or something.
  8. Jmo of course , but if a change were made ( it’s a huge if ) I don’t think Beane would be shown the door. I don’t think TPegs does this unless the rest of the season is a complete disaster. I mean , they’re 5-3 and a game back in the division. If they finish under .500 you may see a change.
  9. Bengals have had their struggles too. Perhaps the Bills have been somewhat overrated. Maybe the Bengals were / are too. “ Should “ have lost on a Hail Mary ? Please . Very few of those are caught for a win. Imagine saying the Bills should have won on a Hail Mary. Sounds absurd.
  10. He’ll play the Broncos again , at least.
  11. 59 ? Their season high was 34 Vs Arizona. More recently 17 vs SEA and 31 vs SF - even there they had 17 thru 3 quarters before Purdy melted down with turnovers in the 4th. They’re looking better than they started off the year but let’s be serious.
  12. They did get Ankou back and I e seen word they have interest in bringing in Suh … we’ll see. Jones also tweeted ? ( X or whatever it is now) that “ I’ll be back” .. maybe he got good news on his injury timetable ? I doubt he tweets that if he’s out until next season
  13. You probably don’t recall the ones that have worked. You just take the win and move on.
  14. Draft day or thereabouts. He’s finished here
  15. Probably not right away if we know McD, but within a few weeks sure.
  16. Hard to do without extra picks, so it goes hand in hand .
  17. But they need a starting CB, and Whites situation means it’s a long term fix. Beane doesn’t like paying for rentals and that’s key here
  18. Yep. This is mostly about teams becoming sellers - that decision wasn’t made a month ago. Have to understand how this thing works !
  19. I think it’s undeniable that the Bills defensive floor is lower with their current lineup. That means the offense has to carry the team, and they haven’t been as of late . That’s a serious problem going forward ; one that largely falls on scheme/ coaching imo. We saw improvements vs Tampa when they made a few changes to their approach - at least for 3 quarters. They need to do more of this, not less as the schedule/ competition gets tougher down the stretch.
  20. I’m all for the Bills adding a WR for the stretch run. The D is probably too banged up to carry the team, and besides their best player / side is on offense. They’ll go as far as they will let Allen take them. It does appear that Beane is looking at adding a quality CB. This is a smart move as it wouldn’t just be a rental. They need a starting CB going forward as White can no longer be counted on to return to his pro bowl form. Achilles injuries aren’t easily overcome.
  21. Not many good CB or LB sitting on the couch right now. They’ll have to trade for one of those. Deadline is tomorrow so stay tuned ….
