  1. Ok,IF he said this there is no defense. But we'll see where things go from here. Terry will have to address this privately with the team.
  2. You are not hurling two guys 5 yards from the marker and getting the first. Just not happening.
  3. The play that showed me we were in trouble last night was the one where Josh tried to jump over two guys when he was 5 yards from getting a first down. What concerns me is that Josh is not either listening to what the coaches are telling him or is sometimes unable to control his play with respect to what the coaches are telling him. The entire off season McD, Dorsey (and Beane) have talked about how they want to get Josh to where he is not running the ball as much, and where is not taking unnecessary risks to his body while out there. Trying to hurdle not one, but two guys, and not at the yardage marker, but 5 yards before it, shows just a stunning inability to process that kind of info. I love Josh. I think as fans we all love Josh and what he brings to the table with his talent. But as much as folks have wanted to harp about the O line (which held up OK against a very good D line), Bernard (didn't cost us the game by any means), Dorsey's play calls (is it the calls, or is Josh not going where he needs to go), this team will only win when its QB accepts that he needs to play under control. After last night I am beginning to question whether Josh can do that. and if he is simply not listening to the coaches, then the answer to me isn't changing coaches. It's sitting his butt down for a bit or having the other leaders on the team get in his face and demand better.
  4. They ran two TEs a lot. So other than maybe Murray for Cook (which they also did), how exactly does the OC make the QB recognize what he needs to do and do it? It is OK to blame Josh for last night and still see him as the mainstay of the franchise. He stunk last night and lost the game for the team. The odds are he won't have a game near that bad the rest of the year. No. I'm sure Dosey is not talking to him about any of this. Come on.
  5. Explain how you "rein him in"? Dorsey called plays that had guys open. But he can't make Josh throw the ball to the right guy. I felt the draw call in OT was bad. But that game never should have went to OT. and that's on the QB who turned it over 4 times.
  6. Honestly, if he comes out against the Raiders and does the same stuff I'd sit him down for a series or two.
  7. If Josh had gotten his head out of his own butt there would not have been an OT. No, you need the QB to see where the throw should go and make the throw.
  8. Yeah, because Daboll had his team so well prepared Sunday night.
  9. Or McD has to do it. Someone needs to sit Allen down and drill it through his skull that the kind of stuff he did last night simply does not cut it.
  10. One thing I would advise Dorsey to do is move down to the sideline for a game or two. Daboll would get right in Josh's face and scream at him when he started doing his hero stuff. He has been in the league 6 years now and Allen should not be making the dumb mistakes he made last night. This game I am sure will be an aberration but the blame can only go on Allen for the loss.
  11. No, it means Josh has to wake up and realize the great QBs take what the defense gives them.
  12. Josh playing stupid football is not the OC's fault. It's on Josh.
  13. Brown? Yeah he had a couple plays where he got pushed back. So did the guys inside, especially by Williams. That guy is a beast. You slow down pass rush by getting the ball out quick. Guys were there and Josh did it OK the first half. Then lost his mind the second half. This was on Josh. And those claiming it was Brown do in fact have confirmation bias.
  14. Not what I saw. And when you are playing a great D line get the ball out quick to slow them down. Josh did in the first half and quit doing it in the second half.
  15. I’d bring Brady or Manning in to explain how great QBs play.
  16. The line is better than last year. They held up OK against a great D line last night overall. Dorsey made some head scratching calls, but Josh had guys open and didn’t take the easy throw. And I don’t think defenses have figured things out. Last night Josh just sucked. Too much hero ball. He needs to take what’s there, and last night he didn’t.
  17. Brown had a couple bad things including the false start. Overall held up OK Bernard was not the reason they had a couple great runs, and overall the D held them all game. Cook was gaining a lot of yards going outside, and we win the game if Josh got the ball a little farther out when Cook beat his guy in that wheel route. This game was on Josh. He sucked.
  18. I did not understand that call. A run would have been OK but Cook was getting yards going outside, not between the tackles. That said, this game was not Dorsey’s fault. Josh sucked. There were plenty of guys open all night but he chose to try and make the big play way too often.
  19. Josh sucked. Plain and simple. And he won’t suck like that very often. This was basically a replay of last year’s game in NJ. Josh sucked then too. The epitome of him trying to do too much wasn’t the 3 horrible picks or the fumble, but that 3rd down play where he tried to jump over two guys 5 yards short of a first down. That epitomized his dumb play last night. Dorsey can call whatever he wants but if Josh reverts to hero ball then he is prone to making mistakes like he did last night. The O line held up reasonably well against a great D line; Williams is a beast inside. Our D except for the one big run did pretty well. Don’t give me Bernard playing bad and all that stuff; he was OK. Some are saying Tre is done but he had Wilson covered like a blanket on that TD; the guy just made a phenomenal play. Only thing I saw on D is that Poyer has slowed down a lot. McD and Dorsey have to sit Josh down and drill it into his skull that the great QBs take what is given them. I’d bring Brady or Manning into OBD for a talk with him. This team is still good. But no team wins when the QB has a day like ours did.
  20. I’m always up really early so I just keep watching until the game day thread goes live!
  21. Floyd. And more depth at DT. And McD calling the D. And healthy veteran safeties. But we’ve done nothing different on D. You acknowledge we’ve improved the interior of the O line which should help control Q. Williams, but then say Josh will still need to run for his life. Oh, and Brown is heathy too now. Whatever. Wallow in misery if you want.
  22. One of whom is coming off an ACL. Funny how that’s ignored. And we no longer by and large have MLBs in the league like Butkus or Lewis that clog the middle. The trend is more mobile LBs for pass defense, and D lines clogging things up in the run game. Funny how that’s ignored.
