  1. Looks like he will be president and he will carry out the duties of the office. He was just in Erie campaigning. He is showing leadership by wearing masks and distancing and not have potential spreader events. And when your opponent is self-immolating you let him do so.
  2. Four years. Your wishful thinking does not mean reality.
  3. Gruden is going to get suspended if he doesn’t put his mask on
  4. If I am the Bills physicians there is no way I advise the Bills to walk into the Titans stadium on Tuesday. No idea how many Titans are infected plus you have to question their protocols for disinfection and such.
  5. Tennessee should have to forfeit. You can’t mess up the entire league because one team refused to follow protocols.
  6. I agree. I would leave the court as is. Roberts is sensitive about his legacy.
  7. I agree the country would function best with a two party system where there was actual dialog and debate and compromise. But that is not happening, which is why I believe the only way back to a functional government is a third party that takes over. As for packing the court, if I were Biden I’d say the following: The Republicans justified not placing Garland and now rushing to seat Barrett because they claim the voters mandated it by voting for Republican Senate. If this election votes in a Democratic Senate as well as a Democratic President as well as maintain a Democratic House, it would seem clear the people are saying they want a change to the judicial branch. How that would look will have to be seriously considered
  8. The 80’s teams never truly got over the hump. But to compare they would need better front 7 on D and for Singleton to emerge as a star
  9. I value freedoms as well. In the immediate emergency steps had to be taken to cut the curve so hospitals were not overwhelmed. I work for a health care network and get that. At this point most if not all states are asking citizens to use mitigating strategies which include distancing in order to eliminate the virus as much as possible until vaccines. I think California could open Disneyland with similar precautions as in Florida. Mandated masks, distancing and such. I think they should have certain numbers of fans at Bills games with appropriate precautions. But unfortunately all these rely on people working together to help, and it is blatantly obvious that is not happening. Give you a great example or two. Today I stopped at the rest area on the interstate to use the rest room. Signs all over the entrance: Do Not Enter Without A Mask. I use the rest room, am at the sink washing my hands, a big fat guy walks right past me: no mask. I walk out and the custodian: no mask. Felt less clean walking out than I did walking in. Town where I live, a new bar opened a month or so ago. Attracted people interested in checking out the new place. Pictures all over social media: people shoulder to shoulder, no masks. And here’s the killer: the Mayor was one of them. So freedoms are great. But not wearing a mask in the middle of a pandemic is just not a freedom guaranteed under the Constitution. I may come around more if reasonable discussion is held. I have found it is a haven for the alt right and I’m not interested in feeding that crowd.
  10. I am not saying some places and businesses have not been affected mind you. One of my daughters is a professional performer and that business has essentially been destroyed for now. Same with some bars and restaurants. But as for guaranteed rights I just haven’t see a complete effect. We’ve all had to adapt, and if we all pulled together on mitigating actions we’d all be a whole lot farther along against this virus.
  11. I go to mine every week. Less people, more services, Zoom meetings, we’re making it work. Masks and distancing.
  12. That is your issue. I go to church every week, the grocery store, work. I just wear a mask, wash my hands a lot, and distance. You’re complaining about inalienable rights being taken away when they’re not. The phrase inalienable rights is from the Declaration of Independence by the way. Right to peaceful assembly is the Constitution.
  13. You have the right to peacefully assemble. In emergency crises governors have executive powers to act in the general welfare of their states. Pandemic, hurricanes, and so on. You’re pretending the exception is the rule.
  14. My daughter and I argue about the EC all the time. I think it is a valid way to go; she does not. My concern is that every vote be counted and that Electoral Colleges accurately reflect the will of the voters.
  15. Because you say so? Right. Wearing a mask does not violate any of your first amendment rights any more than wearing other articles of clothing to enter a place of business. Want proof? Go downtown right now wherever you live, take off all your clothes and walk around, and when the police come for you tell them the first amendment says you don’t have to wear them. Text me back from your cell.
  16. The three or so leaders of the BLM organization going on about the country becoming Marxist are loons and not to be taken seriously. The concept of Black Lives Matter is a serious one however and one I support. I know a number of students and other individuals in my town that have suffered from discriminatory practices. Time for that to end.
  17. McGann and Bolton come to mind The Constitution does not state a specific number of justices. I would not agree with adding justices but if the Senate, House and Executive branch all go Democrat then you could make the same argument Republicans are making, namely that the people through the elective process are telling their government what they want on the court.
  18. My position is in a national crisis we should all band together as Americans and your not wearing a mask says you’re OK with killing your neighbor.
  19. Executive orders are generally not good; President’s if both parties use them too much. Biden and Obama accepted decisions of the court. When Congress subpoenaed people in the Administration they went. The Trump administration routinely ignores the Congress, they have placed a number of people rated as unqualified to the judiciary, and Trump has said under the Second Article he has unlimited power. He wants an autocratic government where he is not checked by the other two branches.
  20. My friend, hope you are doing well. All the above have many more peaceful protestors than non. The looters etc. should be arrested of course, but my understanding is you have both far left and far right groups taking advantage of these situations to foment the bad stuff.
  21. Ebola dies out quickly in air. There’s a reason Ebola outbreaks die down quickly; because people get sick quickly and die quickly. Covid is a very contagious virus that spreads through the air, has a longer incubation time, and can be spread by non-symptomatic people. As I said it would have been great to rely on individual responsibility in a public health crisis, but people were and continue to be irresponsible.
  22. I generally agree. We faced a public health crisis and governors have emergency powers under such circumstance. I would love it if we could rely on the good judgment of citizens to band together for the common good but sadly that has not been the case.
  23. If you are referring to churches being closed mine was by our Republican governor under his emergency powers, and appropriately so. We switched to virtual services and our congregation continues on. Christianity is about living the Gospels and not a building.
