Biden speaks after winning presidency
oldmanfan replied to Warcodered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It’s about working together for the good of the country. Apparently you don’t want that. -
Let me put it another way. It is time to act like a grown up. Neither political party, neither political persuasion (conservative or liberal) has a monopoly on the best ideas for this country. To get big things accomplished both sides have to work together. There will be compromise, and then consensus, and only that way will we move forward. That does not mean abandoning principals, or surrendering to the will of enemies. It is how adults work t ultimately be good servants to the people.

Biden speaks after winning presidency
oldmanfan replied to Warcodered's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't think so. If Biden reaches out and he and the House come up with plans for infrastructure and such, and McConnell blocks everything, I think in 2022 the people will decide to throw the Republicans out of DC. -
It's satire, and not particularly amusing. But once Trump is out of office this kind of stuff will fade away. I do expect he will wind up serving time, however. I think the SDNY and NYS Attorney General will bring charges shortly after he leaves office. And I don't say that in a gloating manner. Everyone in the country has a choice after every election. Do you want to join in the political conversation and work together with our elected representatives to make this country better, or do you not? Under Trump, the norm was polarization. Under Biden, his stated goal is to bring people together. Better to come together than stay apart.

Gameday Thread PreGame Week 9 Bills vs. Seahawks

OK boys, let's matriculate the ball down the field! -
I guess you and your brethren will continue to sit in your echo chamber. In the meantime, on January 20th we will have a new President who wants to bring the country together. What neither far right or far left people want to understand is that political political extremists will never get what they want. They don’t have the numbers to run the show.

McConnell: our goal is to make Obama a one term president. So stop. As a country we need to pull together again. We need to have vigorous debate but then our leaders must compromise and work together to get things done. Reagan and O’Neil were as politically opposite as you could get but they had drinks together every week and got things done. We have to get that attitude back.

Best single play in Bills history
oldmanfan replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have already said for me it’s the Stratton hit. But I can give you a few more: 1. OJ’s run to break 2000 yards 2. Cribs run to win the 1980 season opener against the Fish, finally ending the streak 3. The Hail May to Hooks 4. Butch Byrd punt return in the 65 championship game 5. Reich’s last TD pass to Andre in the comeback game -
The poster does not care about the Bills. He cares about being entertained. He would rather have McD act like a carnival barker than an NFL HC because it would entertain him. He stated specifically last season he would rather see the Bills lose as in his mind the game was entertaining. He would rather see Seattle win 45-42 on Sunday vs. the Bills win 17-14. It’s pathetic.

The Hit Heard Round The World. For us old timers no play will ever surpass the Stratton hit; set us up for our first championship! -

Yes. I comment because you actively root against the Bills; you said so specifically last year. Fans don't root against their team. -

Thanks for the pessimism. Such a unique approach for you.
