  1. Doing the job McD and Frazier want. Unless you know more than them, of course.
  2. Motor needs to be the main guy. I know it’s really hot there but still.
  3. One of the problems with a best in franchise history question is that there are so many who did not get to see guys live from the earlier years. For those saying OJ was not as good as Thurman, I just wish you could have seen him play. Yes, he’s now a degenerate murderer but in his day he was simply unbelievable. His combo of speed and power were unmatched, would make cuts that defied the laws of physics. Some criticize him for not catching more passes but we simply did not throw the ball much, precisely because of how great OJ was running the ball. And that is not to denigrate Thurman, who is in my top 5. There were so many guys in the earlier days that were just great. Cookie might be the best overall athlete the Bills ever had. He was a freight train running the ball - Jim Brown is the only guy in history that matched his size and speed and power. Tom Sestak us what folks call country strong; he’d have been a lock for the HOF if it weren’t for injuries. Same with Jerry Butler - he might be the most talented WR the Bills ever had, whose career was cut short by injury.
  4. Others I’d mention: Jerry Butler - HOFer if he hadn’t got hurt Tom Sestak - same thing Freddie Smerlas Elbert Dubenion
  5. Most athletically talented? 1. OJ 2. Bruce 3. Cookie 4. Thurman 5. Allen
  6. Well done. And I remember watching Bass!
  7. I think Bass and Ferguson should be deciding on this.
  8. Beane is doing fine. As for the Araiza incident, he and McD said they could have done things better but that they are not lawyers and such. And he’s right. They will take what lessons they can from this and use them to improve the organization
  9. Because Howard simply did not play well, worse than Sweeney. That seemed clear watching the preseasons. Watching those games I question whether Howard’s heart was all in to be honest. The reality is it will be Knox and Morris doing the work, Gilliam for blocking, and Sweeney if a guy goes down. You’re right that he’ll likely be inactive a lot but someone has to be, I guess.
  10. None really. You can say Sweeney but Howard just did not show up. I suppose you could exchange say a Hart for one of the other guys but is there really much difference there? I might have kept Hodgins over Kumerow but special teams always have been and always will be a priority for this staff. over
  11. Thought there might be a chance they kept Bryant and waived Settle. Bryant looked pretty good. But we have a team now where we wind up cutting good players that belong in the league.
  12. I was getting the impression Howard’s heart wasn’t into playing football for a living.
  13. Thanks for the clarification
  14. I asked the same question. Apparently he can’t be suspended because the incident occurred before he was in the league, or something like that.
  15. .....whichever one holds the best for Bass. That’s more important than actual punting in my view.
  16. I think the Bills did OK with this situation. But even Beane said yesterday they could have done better. Thorough implies a rigorous examination and it seems they fell a little short.
  17. Thorough was a terrible choice of wording.
  18. I don’t think the decision on Haack is related to Araiza’s case. To me they didn’t think Haack was who they wanted regardless. And they knew they could find a guy as good if not better if anything happened to Araiza whether that be related to his problems with law enforcement or not.
  19. I have daughters and like most fathers with daughters teach them exactly what you described. But sometimes kids make mistakes, which does not mean they should then be considered sexual prey. You thought you were being cute by your comment I suppose, but what it showed is that you have a misogynistic, Neanderthal mentality. Your comment was sickening to anyone with a shred of decency. As far as the media as near as I can tell they reported facts; that there was a lawsuit filed, and then the attorneys for both sides got their say and as one would expect they were each hyperbolic in defense of their clients. The Bills might have a media thing now to deal with, but their decision comes down to not wanting to deal with the distraction, which they have every right to do.
  20. This is utter nonsense. First the Buffalo Bills are under no obligation to wait for complete adjudication of this to make a decision concerning the franchise. New York is an at will state; any business can let an employee go without cause unless it violates the law. And no employment law is being violated here. The Bills decided they did not want the distraction and have moved on. If the player is found innocent his career awaits him. This incident will be brought to the justice system and we will see what happens. In the meantime what is disgusting about society is that there are still Neanderthals who reflexively blame the victims in a sexual assault case and use phrases like “she can’t keep her legs closed to do so. That is revolting, and it has nothing to do with liberal press or any of that kind of nonsense. It has to do with basic human decency.
  21. I am pretty sure the Bills legal counsel was very involved and as such they were not going to make a snap decision.
  22. The use of the words “thorough investigation” in the original statement was wrong. Beane admitted as much. Other than that I don’t know what could or should have been done differently.
  23. Hypothetically if he raped a girl I’d cut him. I ‘d be enormously sad but ultimately football does not trump crimes.
  24. Probably not. But I believe we might have suspended him while things were investigated. I would have preferred that in the Araiza case but apparently that was not a choice because the incident was before he was on the team.
