I was there and I loved it. Closest I’d ever come to “The Old Rockpile” experience. No PA, no hype music, no sound effects. No scoreboard or replays. Loved watching the officials’ hand signals, and watching the line judges for the spot of the ball. Had to pay attention and keep track of down and distance. Someone w a radio in the section giving updates. I know it was relatively brief, but one of the more unique and fun afternoons at The Ralph. -
Ok fine....he kinda looks like Butthead, and a quick look on google tells me I’m not alone in that opinion...

Collinsworth is PAINFUL to listen to. The nonsensical blathering, the real-time hypotheticals that he seems to pull out of his arse, and the self deprecating “back when I played... a-hyuckHYUCKHYUCK”-ing, it’s a really tough listen on sunday nights. Al Michaels, the voice is legendary but dude’s a dinosaur and he doesn’t do enough to balance Collinsworth out. Ok sorry. I guess I’m triggered lol.

Definitely not a cat person either, but my wife brought her Walter into our relationship and I brought Polly. So together they were Wally & Polly. And boy did Polly & I harass that poor cat, lol! He was cool though, made it to about 20 and he definitely used all of his nine lives. He actually ran away for about two months, it was sad, my wife did the whole signs on the lamp post thing and everything. She was heartbroken. Then one day I’m walking Polly down Auburn, and theres Walter, skinny as all hell just laying on someone’s front lawn about 10 blocks from our house. I couldn’t believe it! Literally said “Walter??!??” out loud. He dips under a porch, and me n Polly ran home. I grabbed the cat carrier, a can of cat food and hopped on my bicycle and went back to get him. Had to lure him out, he was definitely a little spooked. Neighbor fella told me he had been running around with some other strays, setting off everyones motion detectors all night. He said some folks in the neighborhood had been leaving food out for them. What a lucky cat!! Got him home, my wife bawled her eyes out, we really couldn’t believe it, but it was definitely him. We fattened him back up and he lived another 12 years or so. I was sad to see him go, just got really old and really skinny but he had a long happy life. We miss him, but my wife isn’t a cat person either, so we’re likely never getting another. She was in college and a dude showed up at their apartment with a box of kittens one day, how could she say no??

I miss my Polly Esther every day. Beautiful black lab/doberman rescue. She was a tough city broad, picked up by animal control running loose in the First Ward at 4 months old. Used to walk Bidwell parks triangle with no leash, I trained her to wait while I crossed the street and then gave her the OK to cross. My wife always felt safe walking with her at night. Now I have two dyngus dudes and they have a beautiful suburban yard, and we hike the gorge trails all the time. They’re good boys, but there’s always something special about that first one. Couldn’t bring myself to get another female yet. Maybe on the next round.

“Cut Shots” that we missed yesterday....

I think if you use the “toss & dump” method on your wings, the “excess” should be just enough to keep the bottom sides of the bottom layer of wings just a little soggy. That way when you finally work your way to those last few (you know, the ones that you definitely don’t need to eat, and probably shouldn’t, but you do anyways because wings) they slide down a little easier. Helps lubricate the airway. -

Honestly gave up on WGR years ago. I don’t value or care about any of their opinions or programming. Couple guys in the tix group used to like to put it on for the ride home postgame, the callers were mostly nails on a chalkboard. -
What are you, a diabetic??

They definitely nailed the drunk, half-assed “Ayy-ay-ay-aaaay” chant, noticed that several times in the second half.

I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!!!!!!

First home opener I’ll miss since 1997. I think my streak qualifies for an asterisk though. -
What are you cooking today for the game?
4_kidd_4 replied to Brennan Huff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Homemade wings, homemade pizza on DiCamillo dough, and gin. Probably start off with some Salty Dogs with garden fresh rosemary salt, and go from there. Was hoping to be out on the deck all day but it’s currently pouring here. -
You will be arrested if you go to the Bills Stadium on Sunday

If you try to show up there you’re being nothing but a button pushing dyngus. It’s not a political thing. It’s a dumbass thing. -
Have You Ever Attended A Bills Home Game

No, is it fun? -
I personally count AFL titles. Most will not. I also wouldn’t rule out a retaliatory billboard in Buffalo. With Lombardis & Stanley Cups. I mean yeah great, we have a fun and boisterous fanbase, and that’s acknowledged by a lot of other fans. But “best” is an unqualified claim, for any fanbase. Popularity contest is more like it. Yeah I get it’s for fun, but I’m just sayin putting up a billboard in another, more successful sports town is just asking for it.

I got on board when Dave Andreychuk went there and captained them to a cup. Gotta burn our collective arses a bit though that TB has a cup AND a Lombardi.
