Welp, we’re 22 miles from Buffalo, and directly across the lake & slightly elevated from Toronto. 60 miles, ‘as the crow flies’. The escarpment literally starts sloping downhill in my backyard.

That looks pretty decent, reasonable cost too. I actually already have a “pathway” to run a line up the wall and out to the roof. The old “u-clip” style antenna connection is still there, our house was built in ‘57.

I use an HD antenna, but I do believe WIVB moved their tower or the angle of the tower to better service the southtowns. Fortunately we live at the top of the escarpment so we still get a pretty clear shot, but sometimes it’s a bit tougher to angle the antenna properly for a clean picture. Granted, we’re only using a ~$40 inside antenna. Someday I’m gonna make the move to an old-school style outdoor roof antenna, there’s some pretty decent options out there. We also get a ton of clear Canadian stations from across the lake, love CBC for playoff hockey!

Not myself personally, but one of my best friends dated a girl who could “see”. I am by nature cynical and as skeptical as a person can be, but I never once doubted her sincerity. She was not a bullspitter, or attention seeking type. Was actually quite reserved about her ‘ability’, and didn’t broadcast it or really ever throw it out there for discussion. It obviously would come up time to time and she definitely had a story or two that would give you the creeps. She worked in an L-shaped restaurant, and when she’d be cleaning the one dining room, presumably alone room she’d see a man out of the corner of her eye...turn to look, gone. Started to get to her, so she reluctantly told the owner, who took her aside, pulled out an old map and showed her that the restaurant was built on a corner where three houses used to stand. The dining room at the end was basically over the site of a brutal murder some years prior. Yeah, she didn’t stay at that job much longer.

What a dog this game turned out to be 😂

For the record, proud Gen-Xer here. The “glory days” were middle school and high school for me. What a fantastic time in a young man’s life for his favorite team to be so damn good! I lived it. Often in person. Fortunate to have actually been at legendary games in person, including “The Comeback”, and “51-3”, amongst others. BUT...that was a long time ago. I personally no longer care what these guys think/say/do anymore. It’s completely irrelevant, in my opinion. And I cannot back the “to each their. own” vibe enough. You want to hang on to that ancient history, then you enjoy that. I just feel the young guns shouldn’t be kept in the shadows of these fossils anymore.

It’s definitely not a popular take, but I feel ya man, to the word. Good memories, good times. But live in the past, die in the past.
