We don't have the mentality to win close games

It doesn’t matter. A win is win whether you agree with it or not. You can’t do that and have a serious discussion. -

they're close games the bills won. it counts whether you agree with it or not. it's insane you don't think they count, and this is why you get the grief you do. don't say something isn't arguable because stats back it up, then completely manipulate numbers so it works in you favor. this has been the last few pages of this thread. certain posters just want to look at last year and this year when it comes to close games. that's not mcd's resume. it's starts in 2017, so base his coaching talent in close games from that time at least. was it bad in 2021...sure, but that single year doesn't show a picture of him overall as a coach in close games. he won't be able to comprehend it. show us then. -

don't do his homework! also, our man is eliminating close games the bills won because he wants to. there's a lot wrong with his post. -

so you're eliminating close games they won just because? and i'm not sure the bolded is true. maybe you're right, but can you show us? -

no. i thought the argument was some posters picking a very specific period of time to determine if mcd is good at close games or not. i suppose we could go back to 2017 and see. it's enough time and the most fair...right? -

i think the point was it really wasn't a trend, (well, last year it was). 2020 there was a winning trend, 2021 was a losing trend. neither means anything to this year. -

so...you're just choosing one year. i'm not a stats guy, but i think you can certainly go more than one year out to find out who mcd is in a close game. -

why not include 2020? if you're talking about mcd's coaching in close games, it should really include his entire career to give you a fair idea. people are picking only including last year because it drives their narrative. last year wasn't good...at all. the year before was. every year is different. -
i don't think a single poster said his 100% responsible for this, or anything remotely close. it's mcd, josh, beane, the staff, and all the guys on the team. it's a group effort, but mcd is the one who has to be the ring leader. if you don't love mcd as a coach, i don't have a problem with it. i just don't get the vitriol some have over a coach who as done well. not perfect, but this team is in good shape. you told me you didn't think anyone has an agenda, yet you don't follow posters? quite frankly, it's impossible to ignore certain posters. mostly because they shove their opinion down your throat.
-
nonsense. he's certainly not a perfect coach and he needs to improve in certain areas of his game, but the criticism he gets from certain posters is insane. for no reason at all, you just don't like that he's tied in with improving the culture. why? so...you don't think filthybeast has an agenda?
-
i wasn't referring to you by the way. and it absolutely is the case. only a handful of posters are truly, "attacked". it's not their message, it's their approach...and it's always the same few people. where is the line drawn? common sense. who can i prove it? einstein was doing it yesterday. he kept quoting losses in close games by mcd, but only from last year and this year. why? because it makes the situation seem more dire. when asked why he didn't include any previous years, he said because it wasn't relevant. why? if you're going to discuss win/loss records about a coach, why not discuss his entire tenure here? he knows what he's doing as most posters who get attacked do too.
-
exactly.
-
not as much as others apparently. the constructive criticism is very welcome. it's the people who purposely post threads to start drama, and no matter how many decent points are made otherwise, they want to hammer away at the drama. i've seen many people criticize this team and not get blasted. why? they do it in an intelligent manner. it's pretty obvious who is who, so the victim mentality is bull####.
-
you're not a victim.
-
he's not a bad guy. he just wants 300 yard passing games.
-
and why is it grating? don't you think this team needed a culture change? do you not remember the ***** show this team was? whether you or any other posters want to agree with it, mcd is a huge part in changing the mentality of this team.
-
honestly...no one cares.
-
it's not a mad crush for mcd. it's just people not willing to ***** all over him because he doesn't have a super bowl yet. he's a good coach who build a good culture.

There’s a lot happening here.

Fun.

So is coach mcd.

Bills Never Win Close Games, Bad Coaching!

Eh. The bills were firing on all cylinders in 2020, and just seemed off last year. Let’s treat this year as a different monster. -

It was the trend last year, and by all means last year was sloppy. It wasn’t the trend the year before, and it’s split so far this year.
