  1. Its also worth mentioning that in 2016, after Rosen got hurt UCLA only won a single game the rest of the season (and 4 out of 6 games without him UCLA scored 20 points or less. 3 of those games they scored 10, 10 and 14 points) They went 3-3 with him, with one game going to OT (where UCLA's defense stunk) and 2 more where they barely lost both by 3 points. The losses without him in the lineup were not nearly as close (they lost by 26pts, 22pts, 10pts, 7pts & 6pts).
  2. I don't think he works for the NFLPA anymore (since it says he "worked" in the past tense), but he obviously must be worried about whatever is going on with Richie to reach out to him and his mother like that.
  3. yep, you were right. Nothing to see here. He's on vacation in Qatar.
  4. With how much Beane and McDermott have said they prioritize accuracy from a QB (especially accuracy from the pocket) I'll be somewhat surprised if Allen is the pick. But if he is i will find reasons to get excited, support the kid and hope for the best. His ceiling does appear to be quite high IMO. I am just scared he will never reach that ceiling. He seems like a very boom or bust type prospect.
  5. I really can't see the Pats moving up for a QB. Brady just turned in an MVP season. It's not like they need to move way aup and grab a QB that will be able to start this year or next. Why would they waste all that draft capital (which Belichick LOVES) to move up for a QB like Mayfield or Rosen who will be ready to start year 1 and then just let him waste away on the bench? Plus, they don't know when Brady is retiring. What if he does play for another 5 years? Or even 3-4? Then they basically just wasted that QBs rookie contract and have to worry about re-signing him to big money before he's proven. And they'll be paying that rookie QB top 10 1st round pick money to sit on the bench. It makes WAY more sense that they grab a developmental QB with one of their multiple picks in the 2nd/3rd in a very deep QB draft. Maybe there's an outside chance they take one at 23 or 31 if they really like a guy. But they're not trading way up to the top of the draft for a QB who will sit behind Brady for years.
  6. That might actually be better for the Bills, moving up to 5 (as long as the Browns don't sell the #4 pick to a QB needy team). I think Darnold goes #1. Then if the Giants keep their pick they go with Barkley. I reqlly think the Jets will take Mayfield. I just don't see Rosen in NY with how outspoken he's been on Woody Johnson's neighbor/good friend. The Broncos are the team I am worried about taking Rosen. So if we trade up to 5 with them, it eliminates that possibility, saves the Bills a bunch of draft capital and basically guarantees them one of the top 3 QBs.
  7. Im sure they know better than I do then. Thanks for sharing. Was hoping that that it was due to the supposed rift between Brady and Belichick! lol
  8. I read he was there for day 2 last year (missed the 1st day because he was returning from a family vacation), and I also read that the Patriots usually have almost perfect attendance for the offseason workouts and Brady is the one who leads the charge. Thats what I found when I looked into that tweet out of curiosity if it was unusual.
  9. I wonder if Brady is just skipping the start on Monday, or if he doesn't plan to attend at all? Ill definitely be interested to see if it's the former or the latter. He missed the 1st day of the offseason program last year, so if that's all it is then there's probably nothing to it. But if he skips the whole week, it would be telling IMO because I don't think that's like him. I believe he's usually always there for it.
  10. I see derby dan/Dunkirk don/Chadwick bay Chad created yet another persona... "Derby obviously you know football. Thanks for an interesting post. You are correct" "Derby thanks for the update i am with you". "Very nice post derby" "I heard Dunkirk don is a legend" "Derby dan that is going way back but you are correct. You know football and the Bills" "I agree with you derby, bud was the real deal" plus the 2 above I just quoted. That's what, like 75% of your post history so far at TBD. And that's just within the last 10 minutes.
  11. I think the Browns take Darnold #1. I will be surprised if anything else happens at this point. They are definitely going QB at #1, I have almost zero doubts about that. It could be between Allen and Darnold, but I just don't see it. Allen is such a boom or bust type QB, where as Darnold seems like much more of a sure thing. It's not a coincidence that Darnold is the highest graded QB to enter the draft since Luck. He just seems like a lock to go #1 to me. I hope you are right about the Browns #4 pick being available. I am worried that they have no interest in trading down with all the picks they already have. I could definitely see them being more interested in getting a couple franchise cornerstone type players than another trade down. But if that pick is available and the Bills QB is still on the board, I am all for doing what it takes to move up. I really don't want to give up the 2019 1st because I think the Bills could conceivably take a step back this year and that could be a top 10 pick. I'd much rather throw in another 2nd this year or something along those lines. When you lol at the draft value chart, the Jets overpaid by about 600 points to move up (and not all those picks were in 2018, somtheir value is likely lower). I expect the Bills to have to do the same. So I'm thinking 12, 22, 53 and 65 should do it (or at worst 56 instead of 65). 12, 22, 53, 65 = 2615 points #4 overall = 1800 points So that would be just over an 800 point overpayment. All in 2018 picks.
  12. Crazy stuff... Next we are going to hear that he thinks the world is flat!
  13. Ah ha! Now we know why they traded for Tyrod! (j/k. They are just doing their due dilligence)
  14. Yep, all very normal behavior for an NFL player retiring over medical issues. Nothing to see here... lol
  15. Sammy is nuts, man. He really is a weird dude with some very very strange beliefs.
  16. You're most likely right. I'm not sure the Bills would take him back at this point anyway, even if he did want to come back. I'm just saying that I think there was more to him retiring than medical reasons (I'm not even sure the medical issues were his main reason for retiring). IMO This situation is just not playing out like someone who was more/less forced into retirement due to a medical condition. For example, look at this tweet. This is from the same day that the Wood retirement news came out. Bills immediately tweeted this - And all these congratulations from teammates - https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/teammates-send-well-wishes-after-eric-wood-retires
  17. I've said for days now that I thought it was strange that the Bills or his teammates (at least none that I'm aware of outside of McCoy) have congratulated him on his retirement. Something more has to be going on here.
  18. Something is definitely going on outside of the supposed medical reasons he retired.
  19. Trade speculation begins to circle ROR - http://www.wgr550.com/articles/news/trade-speculation-begins-circle-ryan-oreilly
  20. Wow, when you read/hear his interview, it's very easy to see why Dallas got rid of him.
  21. And possibly the respect/trust of the locker room could take a hit. this regime has been very very big on shipping out the player with supposed character issues. What would it do to their credibility to bring in someone like Manziel?
  22. I'd be pretty shocked if he ended up in Buffalo. I just don't see it happening. I dont think we'd be very high on Dez's list (unless we offered a crazy overpayment, which I don't see happening) and I don't think Dez would be very high on McBeane's list.
  23. I hadn't seen that article. Thanks for sharing. Great read. I like Rosen even more now!
  24. IMO - Because Hue Jackson wanted a veteran QB. I'm sure Dorsey did too, to help the team win some games and gain confidence. But Hue just went 0-16 (and 1-31 in the past 2 seasons). He doesn't have the leash to ride out another season of rookie QB bumps and turnovers. He HAS TO win some games this year and show some forward progress if he wants to keep his job. I believe he rightly thinks that turnovers are the biggest factor in all their losses (Kizer just turned the ball over 27 times!!) and Tyrod solves that problem. Darnold has issues with turnovers himself, so they will let him learn from Tyrod for a year on how to take care of the ball, then he will be starting next year.
