  1. I was just thrilled that Rosen didn't drop into the Dolphins lap. I was angry enough that we passed over Rosen (at the time, I am much more in board with Allen now than I was then). I would have really lost it if Rosen dropped right the Fins at 11... So I was really happy when Arizona traded up to 10! lol I was so high on Rosen and Darnold before the draft (which is something I never do. I hate getting locked in on any 1 player because the chances the Bills take that player are slim). It would have really sucked to see both on other AFCE teams. I was never worried about the Pats taking any of the top 4 though. It never made sense.
  2. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Bills-offseason-schedule-released/631f1a70-1195-41fb-82f4-0f2c2159c6a5 there's the offseason schedule. I don't think they've announced the training camp dates yet, though. Brandon Beane (our GM) and Sean McDermott (our head coach) have said that there will be an open competition for the QB position and the best man will win. If Josh wins it fair and square, he will start. Personally, I'm hoping that either AJ Maccarron or Nate Peterman win it to start, just to give Josh some time to sit, learn and develop. I'd be thrilled if he did win the job right off the start, but I'm not sure if that's the best thing for his long term future (and I only want whatever's best for him for the next decade+, I don't care about this season). Our o line is in MAJOR transition this year. The right side already sucked and now We lost 3 starters from last year - LT, LG and C. (although our current LT did play about 1/2 the Sean last year and looked great, which is why they traded our previous LT to the bengals to get to pick 12 & be able to move up for Allen). Our Center of the last decade had to retire due to medical reasons. And our pro bowl left guard claimed he was retiring over medical reasons, but everyone thinks it was a money issue (he took a pay cut). Plus i I think Allen needs work on his footwork and I'm not sure running for his life behind this o line is the way to learn that. I want him to fix it and let it become muscle memory, as you tend to revert to what you know when playing.
  3. No, I said this somewhere in these boards already that I didn't feel he was being racist at all. One was song lyrics, one was a quote from some show. He wasn't using it with the "er" on the end in a racist way. He used it with an "a" on the end, like an immature kid trying to be cute/funny/cool (or whatever, which obviously it's none of those things), who didn't yet know the weight that word carries.
  4. Quite the difference from what they finished last season with! I just keep thinking that if our secondary was so god last year with that d line getting no QB pressure, how good can they be now? excited to find out! Thanks 26! I caught their presser just in time thanks to you. Appreciate the heads up.
  5. This was my first thought as well. So glad Kyle is here to mentor him.
  6. I have no idea. I just heard them say that he he just had a round of chemo.
  7. Seeing him make that pick made my night. Awesome of Freddie, Andre and the Bills to do that. Hope he's able to win his battle with cancer.
  8. Key words are next few years... they have a lot of talented high draft picks. It could be tough to keep everyone together when they start coming due for pay days.
  9. It made zero sense for the Pats to trade away their first round picks for a QB, or even take a 1st round QB period. Why would they trade away multiple picks just to sit a QB behind Brady for an unspecified number of years and waste his rookie contract? Instead, they went with 2 good players on offense to surround Brady with in his final years and try to rack up as many championships as they can before he's done. Brady is going to be around for a few more years at least I bet. He said he wants to play 5 more seasons. I believe him. I see 3 minimum. He just had one of his best statistical seasons this past year. He's not showing any signs of slowing down. Why would the Pats feel desperate to trade up for a QB right now? They still have the the luxury of taking a mid round guy and developing him. This is supposed to be a deep QB draft. My guess is they take a guy in round 3-5. There are still a bunch of interesting QBs on the board - Rudolph, lauletta, White, Falk etc.
  10. I know they also talked to at least Lesean McCoy and Lorenzo Alexander too (as Beane said so).
  11. They said on NFL network that Adam Schefter (who is the most reliable insider in the business) said the Arizona Cardinals were trying to read eup to #7 to draft Josh Allen, so the Bills had to beat their offer.
  12. One thing I've been thinking about with this Allen pick that kind of makes me wonder (well, numerous things do, but...) - I thought the Bills had plugged their leaks. That's why I was pretty sure Allen wouldn't be the pick. Everyone and their brother thought the Bills wanted Allen. Albright even said Bills personnel were telling some teams that. I figured that with how secretive Beane and McDermott have been, I figured it had to be smoke screen. Obviously that was not the case. Now im left wondering if they still have leaks, or if Beane authorized them leaking that info on purpose for whatever reason.
  13. This gets me excited. I have a lot of confidence in McDermott to develop this kid, and Bob Babich is among the best linebacker coaches in the NFL (IMO). So I have a lot of faith that this kid will get the proper coaching. I remember when Carolina picked Keuchley. There were some questions and quite a few mixed reviews about that pick at the time, and that turned out pretty damn good.
  14. I agree that Rosen could have potentially been a questionable fit here. But do you really think he will be a fit in Arizona? That is one of the most heavily conservative republican states in the US, and even more so Phoenix. Trump won there by like 20 points or something crazy like that. Im not sure how well his "F Trump", very liberal views will go over there.
  15. I am one of the least racist people out there. I do not tolerate it at all. Was Allen really being racist, or just dumb? From what I've seen, I didn't think he was actually calling people the N word in a racist way (with er on the end). He was using the n word with a on the end, like some dumb kids do from time to time. I thought he was just quoting lyrics in one, and trying to be cute/funny in the other (which obviously it is not at all). Ive heard plenty of white kids say "my n****a" or some such phrase over the years and not mean it in a racist way. It still doesn't mean it's not a dumb thing to say, or that I condone it. But I do feel that there is a big difference between using it like that and straight up calling someone a N word. If Eddie Yarbrough and all of his teammates are saying that this kid is not at all racist I will believe hem for now. If proven otherwise, I will obviously re-evaluate my thinking. Anyway, just my opinion and I am not trying to make excuses for the use of that word. Just giving my take on how I took it.

  17. I was never once worried about the Patriots trading up for a QB. They did exactly what what I thought they'd do - used both those 1st round picks to put talent around Brady on offense. Offensive tackle and RB. The Pata want to win as many more championships with Brady as they can before he retires. You don't do that by trading away multiple picks for a QB to sit behind him and add little actual on field value. It never made sense for them to trade up for a QB just for him to sit behind Brady for an unspecified amount of years until Brady finally starts to fall off that cliff and/or retire. They will most likely draft one of the developmental QB prospects - Rudolph, Lauletta, White, Falk etc.
  18. I am willing to give him at least 2-3 years, as long as we see some potential and he at least looks like he has a chance of making it as our NFL starting QB. All I want to see is some improvement over time. I was to see Progression, not regression. If he just slowly continues to improve I will be happy and continue to give him time.
  19. It's not just Allen vs Mahomes. Its Allen, Tre White, Zay Jones and Edmunds vs Mahomes and Tyrod Taylor. (we traded up for Zay with that 3rd from KC, and got Edmunds with the KC pick + the Cleveland pick for Tyrod) Ill take Allen, Tre, Zay and Edmunds over Mahomes and Tyrod for sure.
  20. No, I didn't. I knew that wasn't a real sports center account but I had seen someone else post that Rosen quote in this thread, so I searched for it to see if he actually said that and seen that quote come up in a couple different spots. So I thought he did say it. No reason to be a jerk about it Ol Dirty. I dont have a twitter account and don't really use twitter. So im not up on all this twitter stuff. My bad.
  21. I absolutely LOVE this pick! I couldn't be happier. I truly think we got the QB of our defense. Kid is only 19 too! Ceiling is sky high with him. I thought he was one of the best 2 LB in this draft (especially for McD's defense). I think he is going to make a huge difference for the Bills defense this year (and for years to come). For Mcdermott's defense to function at an elite level like it's capable of, it really needs a LB like him, who can play fast sideline to sideline, stop the run and defend the pass... and now we got him! I am beyond excited about this pick!
  22. yeah, F this kid! I guess we see why the Bills didn't draft him... I've watched some Rosen interviews since he was drafted and he is, IMO, totally coming off like a petty little spoiled brat. I wasn't worried about his personality issues, but I may have been wrong on that. This kid is going to be a controversial quote machine... lol Edit - He didn't actually say this. My bad. I seen someone else in this thread post that quote, so I searched for it and seen this. Didn't realize it was just a joke. I apologize. I don't really use Twitter, so...
  23. I find it kind of ironic and funny that many of the people who call others "snowflakes" are the ones I see overreacting, complaining and getting super worked up over stuff the most. lol
  24. Edmunds. I thought he was one of the best 2 LB's in the draft. I love the Edmunds pick, especially for McD's defense. Him or Smith were the LB's I wanted.
  25. My point was that Arizona was said to be trying to move up to #7 for Allen, so we had to beat their offer. Getting Allen at 10 wouldn't have been an option. I mean, I'd have preferred to let Arizona take Allen and we get Rosen at 10. But that's not what happened. But I'm a fan, not a scout. I watched them play on tv. The Bills thoroughly vetted all these guys. Talked to their teammates, family, friends, coaches, school teachers, ex girlfriends etc etc etc. Maybe NFL teams know more than we do... if both Arizona and Buffalo wanted Allen over Rosen, there had to be a reason. At least that's what I'm choosing to believe! lol
