I don't necessarily disagree with you. I think historical draft guessing about when QBs go isn't good though in this case, as the QB position seems to be more and more important every year, and this year there happens to be quite a bit of teams needing QBs. I think there are legit 4 teams ahead of us who will draft a QB (Cleveland, Denver, Jets) and maybe 4 (Miami) That's just how the draft fell. I think we need to get up to #3 to get a top guy If we talk out of this draft with anybody other than Mayfield, Rosen, Darnold, or Allen (yes Allen, not because I like him, but I'll trust McBeane if they decide he's there guy) then I view all these moves as a failure in the long run. I know we disagree to some extent on this, but I think we need to get up to snag one of those 4.

The cost of a starting QB goes up more than any other position year to year. Starters not on rookie contracts make a minimum of $12-15mil for bottom feeders. I'm not saying he's worth that, I'm saying that the market says he is.

I gave two examples of QBs who look like they were mistakes for us to pass on. You didn't "have to explain" anything to me. I didn't advocate to give up SIX PICKS. I was pointing out that last year we passed on TWO guys who look good, why? So we could get draft picks THIS YEAR to TRADE UP AND GET A QB. If we pass this year, then what? Wait until next year? Oh, right, it's a crap class next year, that's why we aimed at this year, but I guess we should pass this year, then pass next because it's not a great class, and hope 2020 is decent.
