  1. Agreed man!! I like your being verbose, I am too, and I'm okay with reading it, as you clearly make your points, so even when we don't always agree, I can at least see where your side comes from!!
  2. We agree here on something duke : ) I think it was a Jacksonville player who said they succeeded in their strategy to "force Tyrod to actually stay in the pocket and play QB" When the opposing teams' entire gameplan revolves around making you do the one thing you're supposed to do, because that's your biggest weakness, that's kind of a problem.
  3. So explain when the time is right? You seem to say now isn't the time, so when is? Next year's QB class looks to be another "EJ Manuel" type year. Last year everybody was like "don't take a QB, wait until next year!!" We traded back, and KC immediately took mahomes, who they shipped out Alex Smith to make room for. The Texans rolled with Watson. Watson was on fire before he got hurt, and mahomes looked very good in his one start (unlike Peterman). So, swami, we should wait until next year again?
  4. It's not logical. Keenum is as big a risk as any QB in the draft. He was hot garbage before this year's anomaly. Foles? The eagles want a 1st and a 4th. They don't want Glenn. They want draft picks. Foles won't be cheap, especially after Tyrod got a high third.
  5. I did. I also clearly read your statement about the gamblers' mentality. You can't win in the league without taking a risk. You can't get a good, young QB if you don't draft one, unless you hit the lottery with a free agent (which is basically never).
  6. Never, according to him. Since it's all a gamble, we shouldn't actually sign any FAs or draft ANY players, just trade our current picks for more future picks, and keep our current roster until everybody retires. Duh.
  7. TLDR: "I want to continue to try to polish somebody else's turd, praying there is a diamond inside, at the QB position by signing castoffs and drafting 4th-6th round QBs, while using our first round picks on CBs and Safties who make a pro bowls,in then we let walk after their rookie deal, only to use our upcoming first round picks to replace said player"
  8. Why? Minny has a great foundation, strong on all fronts and not an aging roster, solid coaching, and a good fanbase. If he's looking for "around 30 mil a year" and they gave him $27, I think he might have just said "sign me up" Yeah, he wants to get paid, but isn't necessarily going to the highest bidder.
  9. yeah i'm really waiting to see what they are He was big on his own stats Interceptions, passes defended, comp% allowed, passer rating allowed were all #1 from 2011-2016 for sherman These were stats that he posted, himself, on his twitter yesterday. I believe he truly feels he can still be elite, and would be willing to take a stats-based incentive deal to prove it. He's very proud and believes in himself, I'm willing to be it's a lower salary with a ton of milestones that he believes he can reach.
  10. Over : going with 6 Over : going with 4.45 Over : there's a sucker born every minute, I think it might wind up being the broncos or the jets Over : i think 4 go, now that cousins looks to be going to the vikings
  11. I think the 3 years, with incentives, gives a bit of breathing room to both clubs. I think they won't rush him back to full-bore until he's ready, they plan to having him for the next 3 years
  12. I definitely agree. I've said this for a while to a couple of my buddies (bills, giants, and jets fans). I said that it would come down to Denver, NYJ, or Minnesota as the favorites, and if Minny could get the $$ available, that cousins might take less than expected to go there. They have a stout defense, solid receivers, a good offensive line, and a strong running game. The only negative I saw with Minny for him was that he would be expected SuperBowl in year 1, and anything less would be considered a failure. I figured NYJ was out because they weren't a complete/good enough team for him to go to, and that Denver was good, but aging, so he had a smaller window. Minnesota seems to have a solid fanbase, a decent coach, and a very strong, not too old roster, which he could work with. I honestly hope he does well there, I like the guy.
  13. Agreed. I should have included that it is ABSOLUTELY F*CKING IDIOTIC if ANY teams pays a 1st for Foles.
  14. I'd like to see the contract details, but ESPN reports it is very incentive-laden. Sort of a hybrid deal, that gives 3 years, but also the "prove it" incentives.
  15. Most recent reports I saw have the Eagles demanding a 1st and a 4th for Foles. Ironically, since Tyrod just netted basically a late 2nd round pick (the first pick of the 3rd), the Eagles can use that as leverage to get more for Foles, seeing as he is a solid bit more proven than Tyrod, including a superbowl MVP award a few weeks ago.
  16. Allen did that at the combine. Just sayin' I agree with you, it's why a guy like Allen will get a chance. Similar to the NBA. You can't teach height or jumping ability. Physical attributes are kinda set in stone, with only minimal range of change available (a bit of muscle here, a bit of toning there) unless the guy has a growth spurt (you this in the NBA because guys are drafted at age 18-19 frequently,vs NFL they are 20-22 usually)
  17. This was hashed out in about 3 different threads. You and bornafan are either completely new to the board, or alt accounts trying to pretend you are new people. I'm not trying to shut up anybody who doesn't agree with me or thinks differently. I'm stating a fact that there is at least 2-3 other threads regarding Luck, so this isn't a new idea. Andrew Luck hasn't thrown a football without pain for well over a year now. His shoulder was a complete mess. There are questions as to whether he can even play again, let alone at a high level. If he is perfectly healthy, the Colts aren't giving him up. If they don't believe he is healthy, then why would you want to take that risk? The Saints took a HUGE risk with Brees, and it paid off. There are plenty of other tales of players coming back from injury, who teams took risks on, who never panned out. Drew Brees' shoulder, was stated by his OWN SURGEON, to be a miracle that he was able to even play again, let alone at an elite level. The fact that he was BETTER than before his injury is beyond a miracle. The fact that his contract was also up, AND that the Chargers had Rivers behind him waiting, meant that his time in SD was up, even if he was healthy. Luck isn't a free agent. Luck isn't sitting on a franchise transition tag that can be scooped up by another team. Luck will require massive capital to pry from the Colts, because even if he isn't healthy, they want to get as much for him as they can. Explain to me how he can pass a team physical for a suitor if he can't even throw the football currently? Exactly. He cannot. Like I said, if he's healthy, the Colts aren't trading him, even for a King's Ransom. If he isn't healthy (which he is not currently) then there's no reason to trade for him. You're right, this isn't rocket science, it's a complete no brainer. Andrew Luck is either not available, or a massive risk.
  18. Stop. Franchise QB is the most important piece. Luck is one of those. This isn't the same. You're also using a trade that is regarded as one of the worst in history as a comparison. Just stop.
  19. There have been threads on this before. Luck isn't going anywhere if he's healthy. Luck being on the block means they definitely don't trust his shoulder. His arm was worse than Brees, whom Brees' own surgeon said was "miracle" he could even throw again, let alone at a high level. Please lock this thread.
  20. Well put. I likened it in another thread to a person buying a car. Person A makes $50k/year. Paying $40,000 for a vehicle is a big deal for them, as it is a significant chunk of their resources. Person B makes $200k/year. Praying $40,000 for a vehicle is a much smaller percentage of their incoming yearly salary. In this case, the browns were person B, and decided it was worth the extra $$ to get what they wanted.
  21. I wonder if they only gave up that much because they wanted to secure him, and since they still have a ton of picks, they didn't care about reaching a bit?? It's like, a middle class family might not splurge on a BMW, because it's a big if a reach for them, and a $45,000+ car is 2-3 years salary for them, whereas somebody making $200+ a year? That vehicle is a lot less costly to that person in comparison to their resources on hand.
  22. Tyrod loves the short pass, Landry loves the short route, so it seems like a ton of 0-3 yard passes are in the cards. That would mean Tyrod has to, you know, actually throw the ball for it to happen though, which is always a big question mark ? Also, Gordon won't last half the season before he's suspended again. Plus, even if he can last, who's to say he's anywhere near as good as he was? The dude has not played in years, although he is only like 26.
  23. Looks like an old video, he didn't have the wrist tattoos (he has sleeves all the way to the base of his palm now) I mean, it's obviously him, and even if it's a year old, it's still video evidence that your dumba** was doing coke and smoking a blunt. NFL might just drug test him now to see if he's as clean as he claims he is currently.
  24. Interesting thought I just had, hap, but since the Browns had so much extra draft capital this year, do you think Dorsey was okay giving up higher than maybe Tyrod was really worth to him, if say, he only had a standard number of picks this year?
