  1. Yeah I'm with you here!! I mean I know it's only based on this past season. PFF isn't saying tyrod is better than anybody below him on THIS list, they are saying he had a "better season" based on his stats this year. I'd still take Carr with 3500 yards 22td 13 int vs Tyrod 2800 yds 14td 4int There was a stat in another thread that basically showed you have a much higher % of winning a game with 250+ yards 3td 2int than you do 150yards 1td 0int. Tyrod is effective at not turning the ball over, and has a high efficiency rating on his throws, because he waits until he has a "perfect window"... Even then he still c*cks it up often enough. Not gonna win, not gonna throw the TD, if you never pull the trigger. I can have a perfect driving record and never get in a car accident if I only drive up and down my driveway too, but guess what? I'll never get anywhere important.
  2. RB Taiwan Jones WR Jordan Matthews DL Kyle Williams CB EJ Gaines That's my definite keep list. Gaines is mandatory, plays well in MCD system, and our secondary was one of our strengths, night as well keep them together. KW is a no brainier. He's earned the right to play with us until he hangs up the cleats, and is still has enough in the tank. Matthews I think we should make a fair offer to. I'm tired of losing good WRs due to a perceived lack of production when they've had "tentative tyrod" throwing to them. Taiwan Jones based solely on his name.
  3. I remember that. Hard to throw interceptions when you don't throw the ball until somebody has a 5+ yard halo around them. Ironically, it's hard to throw TDs that way too, which, not surpassingly, Tyrod doesn't throw many of those either.
  4. This. It's similar to the ESPN PER ratings for NBA players, where guys playing effectively in limited roles (like a 6th or 7th man) winds up with PER ratings up near the top of the league, even when they are only scoring 8-9ppg. Tyrod is an advanced metric darling, somebody who checks all the boxes for these ratings based on efficiency, but ultimately doesn't produce in a high level overall. Looking at that list I would take like 8+ guys below tyrod minimum.
  5. People keep talking about Tyrod's stats with Watkins and woods both in the game. Know why they are good? Because Tyrod won't throw the ball unless somebody is 5+ yards open. QB matters more than wr. Tyrod's biggest shortcoming it's that he is at tentative with the ball. He won't throw it unless he's positive it won't be picked off. He won't take chances when they are needed. Giving him great WRs will help against mediocre defenses, not against playoff caliber defenses. They find ways to stick on the WRs and need an elite level QB to squeeze it into smaller windows. Saying a QB W-L record is only a team stat is absurd. If your QB isn't moving the ball, then your team will lose. There's a reason the top QBs have good winning percentages. Yes, team play matters a lot, but the QB is the lynchpin to that team. Without a good QB the whole system fails.
