  1. It's not like we're asking him to come in and be the deep threat. I'll take 8.7 yards on 3rd & 8 or 3rd & goal from the 8 every time. Who cares if he won't do much after the catch if the catch is for a first down or touchdown?
  2. Have wanted this signing since last year when I wanted this signing. Didn't think we had much of a chance, but have wondered if having played with Taylor might be a factor, and hopefully the report saying it is a factor is accurate. "But he's old . . ." 69 catches, 789 yards, 4 TDs at age 34/35 67 catches, 584 yards, 8 TDs at age 35/36 Age is a number. Stats are numbers, too. Who here thinks Patriots* fans don't want Brady back because of his age? Plus he blocks and, like others have said, is an ideal mentor (more excited at that prospect for Jones than Watkins).
  3. Should be... AFCN: Steelers, Bengals, Colts, Browns AFCS: Texans, Jaguars, Dolphins, Titans AFCE: Patriots, Jets, Ravens, Bills AFCW: Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders NFCN: Vikings, Packers, Lions, Bears NFCS: Cowboys, Falcons, Saints, Buccaneers NFCE: Giants, Eagles, Redskins, Panthers NFCW: Seahawks, 49ers, Rams, Cardinals Not too different, but more geographically correct, if keeping conferences.
  4. Sign a few autographs, get another book deal, successfully commit a crime that makes money. Just a few possibilities.
  5. NFL: - Bengals win AFC North - Saints win NFC South - Lions win NFC North - Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard both put up as good or better stats than OBJ - Ben Roethlisberger plays his last season - Packers fire Mike McCarthy Bills: - Taylor throws for 3,400 yards, 25 TDs, and 12 INTs (and we take a QB in the 1st) - Tolbert is a decent HB2/goal line back - Jones looks like a more complete WR than Watkins - Dareus finally shows up like a No. 3 overall pick - pass coverage leaves a lot to be desired - 3 different players have TD returns
  6. Sorry dead horse, I am going to beat you. Playoffs.
  7. Agree this is likely a move to try to grab some easy settlement money. Patriots* would rather throw some cash at it to make it go away than litigate and have it in the news for who knows how long.
  8. Just have him post up the middle linebacker like a power forward. Five yard catches all the way down the field.
  9. Williams would be ideal, but remember reading a fairly recent article in which he made it clear he wants to go to a contender, and I don't think that's how the Bills are viewed. Would not be surprised or disappointed by a look at Hillman - he struggled last year, but was good with Dennison in Denver the year prior with 863 yards and 7 touchdowns. Plus, although last year was poor with 2.8 YPC, he's put up the following (YPC/year): 3.9/2012, 4.0/2013, 4.1/2014, 4.2/2015. History of production and scheme familiarity - there are worse tires to kick.
  10. "But I dont see a top 5 secondary here."
  11. 4.9 YPC in 2015 aint that bad. Believe the Bucs Oline was in the bottom half of the league last year, so maybe our run blocking could help him return to form from his injury.
  12. Not that I have reason to doubt Poyer, but I also don't have reason to know why I should like him, so he and the safety position are my biggest ?'s on D. Re: the 2017 defense as a whole, I'm fairly optimistic. The starting Dline should be average at very worst. Depth there could be better, but at least we have Worthy, Washington, and Davis. I'm not too worried about linebacker because, even if there aren't perfect scheme fits, we should be fine between Hodges, Brown, Ragland, Alexander, Humber, and the rookies (digression: wonder if they'll contribute at safety at all). That's a lot of bodies to rotate in, if nothing else, especially considering there will probably be only 2 on the field 60-70% of the time. While I don't think we have a shutdown corner, there appears to be a solid top 4 of Darby, White, Seymour, and Johnson. Even if the opposing WR1 isn't completely shut down, at least we'll be able to cover their WR1-3 decently well.
  13. While I agree he's extremely important, I think having Dawkins take a bunch of reps at LT makes this loss a little more affordable in comparison with others.
  14. The more you know that you don't know, the more you know. You know?
  15. Top 5: 1. Taylor - the drop off from him to Yates is... not good 2. McCoy - bell-cow of the offense and do not want to see Williams as a HB1 3. Hyde - not sold on Poyer and Anderson seems more a special teamer than dependable safety 4. Hughes - okay with Lawson stepping in, but then Davis/Valles mans the other side 5. Watkins - almost did not make list because, like others said, used to his unavailability; still, Jones and Holmes is less than desirable
  16. In totally unrelated news, a book burning has been announced in Buffalo this September.
  17. No reason to think he can't at least compete with the likes of Philly Brown, Walt Powell, and Rashad Ross.
  18. Safety. Optimistic, but unsold on Poyer.
  19. While I also love this, how about we fill the potholes downtown to start?
  20. Let's have fun with this: Green-Beckham-Sefarian-Jenkins-Smith-Shuster-Heyward-Bey-Green-Ellis Next?
  21. What if he bends his knee and vows to trust the process?
  22. "I need loyalty, I expect loyalty."
  23. HC - Mularky (didn't quit on his team, closest we've been to playoffs) OC - Gailey (got production out of Fitzpatrick and Johnson; will call screens to Watkins) DC - Williams (certainly not Ryan, too bad Schwartz is not an option) ST - Lynn (seems to be a leader of men and can covertly call the offense)
