I think the Eagles should want to be careful getting a reputation of blocking promotions for their coaches. Also, if we get Chud, then he might bring Dorsey, who he coached at U of Miami, in as his QB coach.

I think I might flip DeFilippo and Daboll, now that I've thought two more minutes about it.

Okay, so Wade Phillips is part of Sean McVay's coaching tree. Got it.

Chudzinski coached Dorsey in Miami, so he could very well bring him in as QB coach if hired. I'd like that combination. Edit: Also had top 10 offenses in his first years with Browns and Panthers (Newton's rookie year).

Not sure you can put Schwartz, who had already been a DC and HC before him, on Marrone's "coaching tree".

Would anyone else, like me, want to see the Bills in their current blue-on-blue, but with the red 90's helmet? I think that would look great.

Gotta say, I've been a fan of the Seahawks' jerseys because of what they (I just found out) call "action green". I get how others see it as an annoying color, but I just like it, and, yes their highlighter-esque color rush jerseys. The Chargers' powder blue is classic, too. Was talking the other day about how I get annoyed by the new Rams jerseys. Specifically, I do not like that their logo features a ram with gold horns, but then their helmets have white horns. I may be picking a nit, but it irks me.

From Buffalo News today (personally would be really happy with CBS or NBC's picks): CBS Sports No. 21: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma. Given that the Bills have back-to-back picks at 21 and 22, it's entirely possible they shoot up in the draft to grab a Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen. But if they stand pat, Mayfield is likely the best they can hope for to address the position if they move on from Tyrod Taylor during the offseason. Mayfield has an excellent arm and should be a good fit in Rick Dennison's offense in Buffalo, though he's far from a finished product and will likely go through some growing pains in Year 1. No. 22: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan. The Bills traded Marcell Dareus during the season and Kyle Williams is a free agent. That makes defensive tackle one of their major needs heading into the offseason. If the Bills aren't put off by Hurst's size, which comes in a little small for his position, I expect him to be the pick here. He should be a scheme fit, and his quickness has the chance to overwhelm interior offensive linemen at the next level. Sporting News No. 21: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame Buffalo is a strong contender to move up in the draft for a quarterback (packaging its two first-round picks this year and one more next year) with Josh Rosen in reach if the Giants want to move down. If the Bills stay put, look for them to build their offense further. McGlinchey is a plug-and-play starter at tackle or guard. No. 22: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU After addressing their offensive line, the Bills could stand to add another young receiver. Kelvin Benjamin is a great No. 2 for the future, and Zay Jones is best in the slot over the long term. Sutton would help the Bills’ coaching staff create an offensive style similar to what the Panthers had when coach Sean McDermott was in Carolina. NBC Sports No. 21: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma With the extra first-round pick, perhaps the Bills look at one of the Sooner state quarterback prospects. Mayfield's Heisman Trophy winning-season rocketed the mobile threat draft boards, but not all are in love with quarterbacks whose game may be best suited for gimmicky college offenses. No. 22: Vita Vea, DT, Washington Trading away Marcel Dareus created a need at defensive tackle for the Bills, who could also target a cornerback or linebacker in the early rounds. WalterFootball.com No. 21: Donte Jackson, CB, LSU The Bills traded Ronald Darby to the Eagles this offseason after losing Stephon Gilmore to the Patriots. They'll need to obtain another cornerback if E.J. Gaines, an impending free agent, heads for the open market. No. 22: Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU The Bills need downfield receiving threats, despite trading for Kelvin Benjamin during the 2017 season. A talented receiver to go with Benjamin and Zay Jones could be a huge boon for whomever Buffalo obtains to be its next quarterback. I agree WR is not a huge need. If we have a solid starting NFL QB, then Benjamin/maybe Matthews/Thompson/Jones/Holmes is not a terrible set of WRs. I also agree that we should build the lines and take a HB in rounds 3-5 because it is a deep HB draft.

If we don't end up having to trade away picks to move up for a QB, then I think our bevy of picks is a reason to be excited for next season. I know, I know, Beane was not there for the draft, but if we can come close to replicating the production we got from White, Dawkins, and Milano, then we should be able to net at least 3 more solid starters in April.

I agree with the point about lingering. (I, like Saul Silver hate lingerers.) But NFL is all about RECENTLY. You're not going to sign any FA because they had a dynamite 2013, right? Glenn has started 16 out of the last 33 games. I think he's a solid player and has been dependable for us, but I also think a draft pick and $14 million off the cap are enticing. I also think dependability and availability are similar.

So long as the reasoning for hiring him goes in the order listed. I don't want the primary reason for bringing in an OC being because he is good for Peterman.

Agreed that I don't want another Dennison type - especially if that means getting a guy who wasn't at the top of our list. I hope, if we do move on from Dennison, that the Pegulas hand Beane and McDermott a blank check for the OC search. I'm not against taking a chance with some sort of up-and-comer who is thought to have an innovative mind for offense, which probably means a guy who really understands the modern vertical passing game, among other things. I know little-to-nothing about him, but believe Matt Canada has been the recent mention of this type of coach.

I hear you on that, but I think it is similar to NFL players admitting they grew up fans of certain teams. They are still going to do their jobs. Most of them, at least.

The first 2 parts in bold: Glenn has missed a lot of time due to injury and is due to make $14 million. The best ability is availability. I would like my 2nd highest paid player to play. The third part in bold: Respectfully, that sounds like a cop out. Everything is a risk when making offseason decisions, but that does not mean OBD should not try to make their risks as calculated as possible.
