  1. OK, Mr. Colts GM, here's my counteroffer: 21, 22, our 3rd round pick, and Glenn. Deal?
  2. Not that I think that is it at all, but I did think for a second: "Hmmm, Shula & Dorsey canned right before the press conference... coincidence?"
  3. Think we have well upwards $30 million in cap room, too, no?
  4. I know they probably really wanted the 3rd round pick for Darby, but you have to think they also made the trade with Matthews in mind for more than a rental. Seems like the McDermott/Beane type of player - captain and 4 year starter in college. Exactly. Imagine Benjamin/Matthews/Jones/Thompson/Holmes as WR1-5 with any above average, let alone good or great, QB. That's a deep group with which any QB worth his salt should be able to produce.
  5. I hear that, but I also am not overwhelmed by Jones after this year, whereas Matthews put up 67 catches for 872 yards and 8 TDs as a rookie.
  6. I dunno, before this injury year he had 3 straight seasons of being a top-notch slot WR.
  7. I get you, and what I am about to say might be refuted by the RPO play-call, but I just feel anyone who saw Marshawn Lynch not get the ball at the goal line in the Super Bowl would have thought, "Hmmm, I think I should give the ball to my top 5 NFL HB." Or heck, even Tolbert, who has shown he can rumble ahead for 1-2 yards pretty consistently. But really, feed Shady there.
  8. I honestly would not be shocked to see this, plus them trying to retain Matthews, whose value will be fairly low after a season out on injury.
  9. I get the idea, but I don't think any OC calls a play based on what Dareus might or might not be able to do.
  10. I'll put it this way, if we had a legitimate QB/OC combination, then I think last year's statistics could have been matched if not surpassed. Plus, Benjamin, Matthews, Thompson, and Holmes were not available for significant portions of the year. Give a franchise QB Benjamin/Matthews/Jones/Thompson/Holmes as WR1-5 and they'll regularly carve defenses up.
  11. Yeah, but he would be the highest paid RT in the league by $3M, so he better be putting in a historically great RT season, and that is if he stays healthy.
  12. McCoy and Clay were the same. WR was less talented, but I think a decent QB/OC combo would still have made due with Benjamin/Matthews/Thompson/Holmes/Jones. Woods was the bigger loss than was Watkins.
  13. I think it can be the case that both Taylor and Dennison underperformed this year. But, I would have liked to see an OC who can adapt to his QB, not try and fit a square peg in a round hole. But then, yeah, this I agree with, too.
  14. Dennison probably should be crucified though. Or, y'know, fired. Yeah, fired.
  15. I would imagine, medical issues aside, that Glenn probably feels he can still play LT and will want to be paid like it.
  16. Okay, but what I said still stands true. Any given Sunday, sure, but facts are that the Jags whooped the Steelers and the Steelers very well could have beaten the Patriots*. I somehow doubt the Steelers are afraid of playing football.
  17. Tough to justify paying a RT over $14M, no? Also, why not try and move that cap hit?
