  1. No. He's a 60 year old coordinator with a previously failed Head Coaching gig. He'll coordinate for the rest of his career.
  2. 1. WR - need someone with a bit of size (6'1 or bigger) who can make some contested catches 2. CB - another high end CB beside White would make this defense unstoppable 3. DE - need to always be adding pass rushers 4. SLB - need to replace Lorenzo Alexander 5. RT - Could use competition here, although I suspect Ford gets another full year 6. Punter
  3. Agreed, but none of them are 6'3, 230 with 4.3 speed.
  4. DK Metcalf isn't going to be in the upcoming draft. He is very unique. Hardy was 6'5, 220 with sub 4.5 speed. He was tall, which is what we supposedly need to focus on most when finding a receiver, as per the opening post.
  5. Spain gave up zero sacks in pass protection all year.
  6. I'm pretty sure this line of thinking was how we drafted James Hardy instead of Desean Jackson.
  7. I tend to agree. If they could stash him behind Fitz for a year, and keep building out their roster with their other two first rounders, two second rounders and their third. The could really overhaul their team with an upgraded OL, some new weapons on defense and a bell cow back. Then in 2021 Tua is walking into a really good situation.
  8. The AFC is going to be wild in two years when Brady, Rivers and Roethlisberger are all gone.
  9. Rosen is in the scrap heap at this point. Everyone knows he's not good enough. The Dolphins are desperate for someone who might become a franchise QB. Ryan Tannehill was the only 1st round pick they've used on a QB since Dan Marino.
  10. Miami should sign Brady and surround him with weapons with their three first round draft picks.
  11. I don't really think one year is enough time to completely reestablish yourself as a head coach. It's not enough time to reflect on what you need to improve on. I think the Cowboys will be getting the same coach the Packers just fired.
  12. Brady was pretty horrible this year and Jarrett Stidham was really good in the preseason. Belichick is such a miracle worker I wouldn't rule out them replacing Brady with Stidham or another veteran and once again winning the AFC East next year.
  13. The Bills had many issues Saturday, but the lengths some people are going to absolve Allen's contribution to the loss is laughable. He played really poorly. He put the ball in harms way numerous times, and had another terrible fumble which sparked their comeback. There were plenty of issues (coaching, line play, tackling), but Allen played a huge part in the loss.
  14. Fair enough. My concern is more based around the notion that I think Payton is a forward thinking coach, whereas McCarthy is married to the west coast offense. I think Green Bay fans were more than happy to see him leave. Since, they've watched a rookie head coach improve upon what McCarthy did last year, by reestablishing the offensive identity to a run based scheme where Rodgers isn't tasked with carrying the team anymore. Also retread coaches rarely work out. My preference would be to opt for the unknown guy with fresh ideas vs the guy who hasn't been successful for a while now who is running an offense from the 1980s. Given their talent level, the Packers seemed to underachieve several years while McCarthy was in charge.
  15. It's always someone else's fault around here. In the eyes of many, Allen can do no wrong.
  16. I agree the D will be good, but to compensate for this offense and win more games than we lose they need to be great. They need to be a top 5 scoring D for us to continue contending for the playoffs. This is an amazing draft class for receivers. There will be incredible value available in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
  17. What a terrible coaching hire. McCarthy has been an underachieving head coach for years.
  18. Brady is never going to become a billionaire playing football. An extra $10-15 mil a year, subject to taxes in Massachusetts isn't going to move the needle anywhere close to enough. Brady is the ultimate competitor. For years he's taken less with the hope that the Pats would have a competitive advantage over their competition, and for the most part it has worked brilliantly.
  19. I think the notion he's getting paid under the table is silly. His wife is worth $350 mil. Brady has never needed the money, which is why he's never pursued getting paid market value. I don't at all consider Miami a dumpster fire. I think they're going to be really good in two years.
  20. It's tired to say we should be disappointed our offense couldn't score 20 points? You're happy with our constant struggles to score points?
  21. I disagree. Pick the best player. If that's a defensive stud who makes that side of the ball better, do it. The offense can be improved in free agency or with later draft picks.
  22. I think Gailey is experienced enough to adapt. They have tons of picks and tons of cap space. They could put a really good team around Brady for 2 years and still let a 1st round rookie learn on the bench for two seasons.
  23. The defense is by far the primary reason we made the playoffs. If we went from #2 in scoring, to 16th, we probably go 6-10 this year given how awful our offense is. The defense needs to be elite to carry our inept offense.
  24. Yes we should be disappointed. The Texans were the worst defense featured this weekend, ranking 28th in total yardage.
  25. I think Brady leaves. The Chargers seem like the most logical destination. They desperately need to sell tickets, the team already has some pieces including an elite slot guy and excellent tight end in Keenan Allen and Hunter Henry, they have a very good running game and some pieces on defense. It seems like a much better situation than New England. Other destinations could include Miami or Tampa. Both seem like good situations for him to walk into.
