And now it looks like innocence is gone I know right and I know what's wrong Feeling lonely that's the way it goes Sometimes Could I ever have been so blind

You got me runnin', goin' out of my mind You got me thinkin' that I'm wastin' my time Don't bring me down

Not born yet - that helps explain your disdain for them. To each their own - but I'm still baffled how you knew of Christine Sixteen since you weren't born and think Kiss sucks. That song had a shelf life of maybe a year or two at best.

I can file this one under "I wasn't 16 yet" when it came out so it was more aspirational than creepy at the time. Creepy for sure with the benefit of hindsight. Awesome that you remember a forgettable song from 1977 well enough to inform us that Kiss sucks.

Lady, when you're with me I'm smiling Give me all your love Your hands build me up when I'm sinking Just touch me and my troubles all fade

I'm down with both sentiments. We should've won in regulation, we could've won in OT with a defensive stop. The equal possessions in OT argument falls short for me. Since everyone assumes whichever team won the toss would drive downfield for a TD - doesn't it follow that given the chance the team that lost the toss would do the same? If so it puts us back at square one and solves nothing. Second team actually has the advantage of not having to decide whether to go for it on 4th down or not.

She shuts the doors and lights and lays her body on the bed Where images and words are running deep She has too much pride to pull the sheets above her head So quietly she lays and waits for sleep

Blue-eyed boy meets a brown-eyed girl Oh oh oh, the sweetest thing

I always look for a positive. Seems like they aren't negotiating through the media - maybe that's a good thing.

Two millimeters long Five times the strength of man Blood sucking in the day Like a vampire with no plan Forty seven thousand kinds Of insects in the pitch Jumping thirteen inches high Till you can't tell which is which Flea vs. Mite Fighting with bites

No doubt. I'm mostly oblivious to any ongoing negotiations - doesn't seem to be getting much media attention. I hope that means they're making progress.

Damn missed that - was watching a replay of the mens downhill tonight. Reminded me of Dan Jansen - 1988 gold medal speed skater favorite who fell in a race hours after learning that his sister had succumb to cancer. Years later he got his gold. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/olympic-speed-skater-jansen-falls-after-sister-dies

@Another Fan @Gugny Missed the posts earlier this year. Happy New Year! Catching up: I love the Buck hire too. But this season will be all about the health of Jake and Scherzer. It's gonna be a boom or bust year. Dropped in this evening to share an article about Old Timers Day: https://nypost.com/2022/02/08/mets-old-timers-day-roster-might-be-missing-lenny-dykstra/ "Mike Piazza announced on Twitter his intention to attend" " The team released a preliminary list of attendees Tuesday that included 92-year-old Frank Thomas, Ron Swoboda, Jon Matlack, Felix Millan, Mookie Wilson, Howard Johnson, Bob Ojeda, Robin Ventura, Turk Wendell, Endy Chavez, Cliff Floyd and Daniel Murphy." "The list of invitees includes Yoenis Cespedes..." I hope Frank Thomas makes it. He's before my time, but unless I'm mistaken he was the Mets single season HR leader (I'm gonna guess 34) when I was growing up so I knew the name. On a side note, the other night I was flipping channels and came across a replay of the 1971 All Star game. That's right around the time my love of baseball was starting to take root. First matchup I saw when I tuned in was Jim Palmer pitching to Johnny Bench. Best part was watching with my son. Other legends included Clemente, Stargell, Frank Howard, Marichal, Brooks Robinson, Carew, Bobby Bonds (my son did a wait, what?),Torre (wait, what? moment part 2),Yaz, Brock,... Broadcasters kept mentioning Seaver but he never made it into the game. Brought back a lot of fond memories. Good times.

Only time I saw The Who was 1982 at the Carrier Dome - in the topmost row - they billed it as their farewell tour, lol. Ironically the only other show I saw at the Carrier Dome was Rush a year or two later. And we were second row center. My view was better for Rush.
