It's not just what I hear on the news. I've heard from people that work in NYC that things took a turn for the worse during the pandemic. Rampant drug use in and around the Times Square area was one example given. Personally, I have no interest whatsoever in spending time in NYC right now.

Case in point: are they really planning on moving Marte to RF and keeping Nimmo in CF?

Sticking with the pizza theme from Slapshot: Ned Braden: Now, they give you one phone call. See they book you, and then the give you one phone call. Jack Hanson: Call the pizza man! -
Yeah, i figure the Hosmer thing is Cohen flexing his financial muscles to bring in a pitcher. Hosmer isn't a fit - but I guess you could say he's the same square peg as Dom. On a side note I saw Dom in a spring training interview and man he looked and sounded great. Can't believe how far he's come since he first came up and looked like a guy in desperate need of a pillow. I had no use for him back then, but I'm a big fan now.

Hate to say it but I'm concerned deGrom is finished. Scherzer is a hammy so I'm less concerned. Have you heard the latest trade rumor: Dom for Eric Hosmer and Chris Paddack.

I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka. -

I have a habit of incorporating movie lines into my everyday life. Sometimes it drives my wife crazy - other times she's been known to quote my frequently used lines. Pulp Fiction: Hamburgers! The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast. Vacation: I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? Animal House: Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son -

My go-to starting point is 8+9-5=12...5 of the10 digits and 2 of the 4 operators right off the bat. I usually get the right answer in 3.

I took a page out of Wheel of Fortune and use stern every time. ouija is good to eliminate/identfy vowels but I think it's easier to try to identify the consonants first

New OT rule is approved for postseason

We will need a new rule. -
@Gugny @Another Fan This is equal parts awesome and embarrassing. Fortunately the awesome part is current. Buck embraces Keith calling him Mets Royalty and wanting him to contribute in ways that past Mets regimes would not allow: https://risingapple.com/posts/ny-mets-news-keith-hernandez-batting-cage-ban

Deshaun Watson to Browns - $230 million guaranteed
SinceThe70s replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Incomprehensible. Drop nearly a quarter billion dollars on a player you're not comfortable promoting. That's gotta be unprecedented. And by all accounts there were other teams willing to put themselves in the same position. -
Fire at Mile High Stadium. Not a small one either.

...it's just not widely reported. -
Was anyone watching Arkansas- New Mexico when TBS put the camera on Brandon Beane? No surprise, but it got a great response from the crowd and he acknowledged it.

Because of or in spite of the handshake incident with Wisconsin?

Nets have been dealing with it all season with their star player who is not allowed to play home games. Could be a big issue for NY baseball - but I expect that it will get resolved before opening day. Circling back to the Nets that would p!ss me off if I was a fan.

@Gugny @Another Fan Are you guys aware of how the current NYC vax workplace requirements will affect Mets and Yanks unless they change? Unvaxed Mets and Yanks are currently not allowed to play at Citi Field or Yankee Stadium. Here's the kicker: unvaxed players from a visiting team are allowed to play at Citi Field and Yankee Stadiu Typing this out raised a question I don't have the answer to: if there is a subway series under the current rules would an unvaxed Met be able to play at Yankee Stadium? I'm guessing the answer is yes.

Anyone catch this:

As an outsider looking in I assume it's just the Braves preferring to give a long term deal to the younger player. Probably the smart move if you take emotion out of the equation. Braves have had some good examples of not holding on to guys for too long (Glavine, Avery) but holding on to the right ones (Smoltz, Maddux).

Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
SinceThe70s replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Up until today the best play Miller made for the Bills was the unsportsmanlike on Tyrod to help close out a game. Looking forward to more contributions from Von but wearing the charging Buffalo and with the clock ticking! Go Bills!
