Given that you no longer get a week off for winning the division the difference between winning the division and being the top wild card and going on the road is negligible. Honestly, if you'd rather play Jacksonville than LA you're better off losing. If my choice is playing Lamar before he's ready to potentially win a home game v. the Chargers or giving him another week to possibly play in Jacksonville instead I probably sit him. You are correct, they can lose and get in if everyone else also loses.

Total Bills drought team in NY this season. The Patriots held the door open a crack for the Jets, the Jets had the QB the fans like coming back, they were playing another mediocre team. Now their season is going to be ended by Geno Smith. It's glorious.

There are agencies that handle athletes just like professional athletes. You approach them with a pitch, they tell you how much it costs to do that and for how long, you haggle a little, and you either have a deal or you don't. The one specific one I know about cost 25k for less than an afternoon of the athlete's time to shoot a commercial. The company then had the right to use Bennett's name, image, and likeness in that commercial until the expiration of the deal which was 1/1/23 at 12:00am. The company also got some autographed merch to distribute however they wanted to. Company bought the stuff. Bennett signed it. There's a Stetson Bennett autographed UGA hat somewhere in my house right now from that day. As I said in the OP, the agency approached the company with an offer to extend the current NIL through the Championship game next week for an additional 60k. For one week of time. I get it, it makes sense, and they were smart to structure the deals that way. I don't think the company is going to do it but I'm sure some of his other NILs will. He's already made over a million dollars on NILs. Good for him. Why shouldn't he? You do not get the right to use anything related to the school, name, logo, mascot, anything like that. That would be a separate deal with the University and I'm pretty sure you cannot combine those two elements (school and NIL agreement athlete) in one thing but I'm not positive.

This game is like the earlier Chiefs game. Nice to win but ultimately irrelevant. You need to play and beat the same people to get to the end no matter what. It really makes no difference where the games are played. We like to think it does, but it doesn't. Would the top seed be nice? Maybe. Who were the two top seeds last year? They both lost after their bye? Oh. A 1 seed hasn't won the Super Bowl since 2017. Would it be nice? Sure. Does it make anything a lock? Nope.

If I were going anywhere it would be to go to Buffalo to watch the game with my friends and then go to the parade. I went to 28. It was fine, but it's a better home experience tbh. Stands are full of Chets and Muffys who don't care about the game so the game atmosphere itself sucks.

Nobody to rely on to get them, no money to pay for them early (insurance doesn't just let you get stuff whenever you want it), etc etc etc.
