  1. How has he got any eligibility left? Feels like that name has haunted CFB since Kellen Moore was at Boise
  2. I readily accept that I put far too much time into this stuff and that I'm afforded the time to watch it whereas others aren't. I try not to sound snobbish when talking about All-22 but it's such an important factor for the secondary that it's hard not to come across as a dick. I don't think Darby has been bad enough to be worthy of being benched. In fact, I agree with others that if there's a benching due for anyone, it's Gilmore. Purely on what have been obviously low levels of effort and intent.
  3. Not worth your time. It's the Bills equivalent of banging your head into a brick wall. Been telling them all season. Maybe now they'll actually believe me
  4. It was a weird situation. He split responsibilities with McDonald in 2015. I wasn't told exactly how they were split but they both had the same level of authority - https://twitter.com/chellegz/status/686919033678118912 Donnie might be out of work by choice, particularly if he found that job share stressful. This is just the second time he's been out of work since he started in 1983, dude might just want a break
  5. Oh my. Who could've foreseen this happening?
  6. The difference between them for me was stylistic nitpicking. The talk about "safe picks" is overblown but Zeke truly was, at least on the talent front. I couldn't see a football-related reason for his failure to materialise. As hyped up as the 2017 RB class is, it doesn't own a special talent like Zeke or Gurley.
  7. In terms of pure rushing talent, I still think that Todd Gurley was a better prospect (I know that's definitely debatable) but Zeke was one impressive dude at OSU. You're spot on about him having no holes to his game. I remember watching him lead block on designed QB runs and just ploughing guys over. The very definition of a superstar talent with the work ethic to back it up. He's a great talent in an optimal situation. Not every top 5 pick is afforded the chance to shine this early but Zeke is a good one. Definitely deserves to be in the MVP race at this point.
  8. It's probably a mix of scheme and WR skill sets. I don't think Tannehill is any more or less accurate than Tyrod as a passer. MIA has Jarvis Landry who represents a decent after catch threat, without Sammy we don't really have another WR that's explosive as a ball carrier. Neither team throws to their backs that often. We have 51 targets to RBs, they have 49 but MIA finds the easy yards schematically that we seem to struggle with.
  9. I'm reasonably pro-Tannehill, not a world beater but he's alright. After 9 games, he's actually a decent volume comparison for Tyrod. Tyrod - 162-of-268 (60.4%), 1,769 yards, 6.6 YPA, 23 sacks (at least 3 of those are scrambles for no gain designated as sacks), 10 TD, 3 INT. Tannehill - 173-of-265 (65.3%), 2117 yards, 8.0 YPA, 20 sacks, 10 TD, 7 INT. It's amazing how much an extra 1.22 completions per game alters the completion %. Small margins at this level. The biggest difference in the yardage totals - yards after the catch. MIA has 966 (18th in the NFL), BUF have 633 (dead last in the NFL).
  10. The second one is Tyrod. The top one, Ryan Tannehill.
  11. If you guys do the Twitter thing, following Chris will truly make you feel better about the Bills - @Reflog_18 If they do fire Hue after a year, no coach should touch it. It's the poisoned chalice of the NFL.
  12. Took a look at him last week. My word, those feet. Might be the smoothest corner I've ever watched in the CFB ranks. The kid looks like the prototype press-man corner. I don't think he's the best WR in the class (Corey Davis is that) but I think he's the best fit at WR for the Bills if they go WR early. You watch his route running and remember that he's only 19. He's not even close to being the finished article and there's so much nuance to his game. The way he uses his hands vertically and at the LOS, his willingness to throw blocks. I don't think he'll test exceptionally but I'll take that guy any day.
  13. Now that the season has reached the outskirts of "We're all doomed!", we're taking a closer look at the draft. A bunch of different WR profiles to look at. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2016/11/09/2017-nfl-draft-buffalo-bills-wr/ I'll also have something on Alabama FS Eddie Jackson out soon. If you hate it, I blame the chest infection
  14. He's Officer-in-charge for the team's hair care products.
  15. If that's the objective, we need to alter personnel in the offseason. We don't have anyone that's got that skill set.
  16. I think there's unwritten rules in every sport. Certain things are a little bit naughty but you let them go (honestly, the tackle on JWill might fall into that category). Other things cross a theoretical line and you act accordingly. It's not ill-discipline, it's simply a matter of principle. In the cold light of day, it might seem a little unpleasant to the viewing public but you've got to have each other's back when it devolvs into cheap shots.
  17. Stay classy, 12's. https://twitter.com/PrescottRossi/status/796015066621493248
  18. What about playing White on the boundary and shifting Darby to the slot?
  19. Very simple rule; someone goes for the plant leg of your kicker, you !@#$ that guy up. That's not just a bit cheap, it can be career-altering on a player that can do nothing to protect himself once in the kicking motion. Someone brought up the incident where Ryan Miller got decked by Milan Lucic. Not a hockey guy but I know the play in question. At the wrong end of the ice, with a potential 3-on-1 situation, nobody gave him what he deserved. Same with the hit by Sherman, the one by Landry too. This team is fundamentally soft because they won't be the enforcers. Hell, even the spear tackle on JWill and the "tackle" by DeAngelo Hall on Chris Gragg in the Redskins PS game. Nobody did anything, just stood idle. Not all penalties are equal. I'll defend any player that seeks someone out in response to a cheap shot.
  20. I thought he timed it perfectly. Mills didn't stand a chance.
  21. I think Bobby will do exactly what he does. Praise the good (there was quite a bit) and be critical of the bad (it did exist) He left a few plays on the field but he impressed me a lot. As did Anthony Lynn, he needed a good game after two straight games where he created more questions than answers.
  22. @ChrisTrapasso Tyrod Taylor played his best NFL game last night. He is only QB to go for 280+ yards with 70+ completion % vs. #Seahawks from '12-present.
  23. Sorry for sounding snarky, just in a really foul mood. Quietly dying after being up until nearly 7am covering the game I hope you're right. I clocked Richie saying that last night and thought it was a bit odd. No big deal either way.
  24. Oh okay, I guess we just have to take your word for it.
