What has become of Kolby Listenbee?
Blokestradamus replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see a fair bit of his TL from retweets. Just like anyone else in his shoes, he'd rather make an impression than sit on the sidelines. This idea that players enjoy missing games/practice is stupid, it's competitive spirit that's got them this far. For all the crap I give the team, they're playing it smart here. Temptation would be to rush him back and that would be short-sighted. I think he can be a good one eventually, just have to commit to being patient. -
Jordan Mills' Hold on the RT Job in Jeopardy
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's that knee. I guess no evidence is some evidence, first man in at LT, not even in the running at RT. Honestly, wouldn't shock me if he doesn't make the 53 in 2017 if Seantrel shows capable of keeping the weight on. Feel for the guy but Glenn ain't moving to RT. -

Jordan Mills' Hold on the RT Job in Jeopardy

Becoming a US citizen today. @PhilFairbanksBN Buffalo Bills lineman Cyrus Kouandijo and 33 other immigrants are getting ready to take their oath as US citizens -
I think Tony Romo will be criminally underrated in the annuls of football history. Consider where he came from and look at where he is now, his story is remarkable. I get it, there's a fetish about quarterbacks and championships. The same thing will haunt Romo and Phil Rivers. That said, I think Romo has elevated his team through his play. He's only truly been blessed with anything resembling a great defense once in his career and has managed to keep the Cowboys in contention for a number of seasons. Only led them to a sub .500 record once (1-5 in 2010). His 2014 season will go down as one of the greatest I've witnessed. He was phenomenal that year. If his health hadn't started to fail him recently, I think he would still be playing at a very high level, maybe even MVP level. I'm not sure if he's HOF good (lot of current/recent guys that have as good a shout as him, if not better) but I think he's been one heck of a player when you evaluate him in a vacuum.

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
I'm not all the way sold on him as a bona fide 1st round pick & franchise QB yet but I think I'd take a punt on Mitch Trubisky in that 11-20 range if he was available. The same way I felt about Carson Wentz, not a superstar rookie that I throw an entire draft at to secure but, if he's there, I'm inclined to gamble. He's the QB I feel most comfortable with at this point. He's too happy throwing off-platform, won't step into certain throws despite a clean pocket, some of his effort balls are courtesy of a near-Bortles wind-up. That said, he's accurate enough, placement will hopefully get there with experience, he's functionally mobile, can read through progressions, glimpses of throwing with anticipation. Year 1, he might be a little bit of a drop-off in comparison to what we've got now but I think he could progress into at least a top 12-15 QB. Maybe even crack the top 10 if he can get a decent QB coach working on him early and iron out the kinks in his technical process. -
That's the thing. Playing a press-man corner in off-man or zone isn't going to work that well. This is what I'm talking about when I say that the scheme isn't playing to the strengths of the corners, particularly Gilmore. For the sake of being versatile, you can't play press-man every snap but it should be a significant chunk of what you do given the personnel. If it's a trend that continues all season, we absolutely shouldn't invest in Stephon. I think Darby stands a chance at being that versatile in the long-term though.

Should Rex play Gilmore on Green?
Blokestradamus replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly what Rex said yesterday - doubled him the entire game. They've been shifting AJ around more this year so it'll be harder to do that every snap. Communication will be key, have to find him pre-snap. -
Maybe Josh McDaniels and Darrell Bevell are just really smart and worked mismatches of epic proportions. Let's not forget that Nickell has seen action against Eric Decker, Tavon Austin, Jarvis Landry and Larry Fitzgerald this year. It's not like he's seen a string of mugs.

Yep. Before the Gronk/Graham victimisation, NRC was 12/26, 154 yards, 2 INT, 2 PD through 7 games. Hasn't warranted benching at all but, if this leads to a schematic/stylistic change, I'm all for it.

Dalton limited with right shoulder designation
Blokestradamus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. They've rotated him in the past couple of weeks. Cedric Ogbuehi has been atrocious. 7 sacks, 2 hits, 24 hurries. -

Oh no. That's Jerry's job. Shaq and Lorenzo get Andrew Whitworth, dude is a beast. Jerry gets the Winston/Ogbuehi rotation of impending QB death. -

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Bob Stoops only cares about his chances of winning. As much as people want to portray the game as some paragon of virtue, it all comes down to being a pretty selfish endeavour. He just lost Matt Dimon for the year (injuries and off-field issues) and he's thinking about his neck being on the line. Life is about choices and the consequences that arise from them. Walker's best bet is to be honest and hope that it doesn't cost him too much in the long run. -

Blokestradamus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
On the Charles Walker front, he's not played since the start of October due to a concussion. Apparently the third one he's suffered in his college career. I get it if he's trying to protect himself from doing further damage before the money starts rolling in. Unfortunately for him, it leaves more questions than answers. -
Jim Schwartz took Eagles 30th ranked defense to top 5

Using this year's logic, that loss was solely on Corey Graham getting burned. BURN HIM AT THE STAKE AND CUT OFF HIS DREADS!!!! -

Projected high........as a kite, maybe. Not a fan of the move but I guess not being classed as an employee does grant you certain freedoms. That's not going to sit well with some, especially if he's skipping the All-Star process too. -
Longevity in HC who do you choose?
Blokestradamus replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm no baseball guy to talk about Epstein but I love that coach pick. The job that PJ has done at WMU has been nothing short of miraculous. A really bright, engaging guy, builds a rapport with his players, heck of a coach. Still only turns 36 in a couple of weeks, I like it as a long term build. -

SOUND THE ALARM!!! I did a mock draft. Have at it, you miserable lot. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2016/11/15/2017-nfl-draft-three-round-buffalo-bills-mock-drat/ -
Nickell is only a major liability when they make him become one. He's had a pretty decent season when he's not been isolated on behemoth tight ends. Part of my rationale for playing White outside, Darby in the slot. It's easier (not easy) to cover a Gronk/Graham/Eifert with a 5'11", 193 corner than a 5'6", 165 corner.

Ezekiel Elliott: just OROY, or MVP candidate?
Blokestradamus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Feel free to stand by it. I just think you're talking about something that has a cumulative effect and it only stands to reason that the difference of 10 carries isn't a significant difference in terms of wear and tear. -
The key is to be unpredictable and I really don't think the coaches have done a great job with that. We've rarely seen that mad scientist Rex come out like it did against the likes of Andrew Luck. There's a fine balance between playing to your strengths and keeping the offense guessing. The issues aren't just coaching or scheme or players, that's the frustrating bit. It seems like every facet of the structure has failed at some point or another. Hell, I'd even rethink the idea of playing the corners exclusively on the left/right, makes them too easy to attack with bad matchups.
