  1. You keep saying this but don't link to anything. Do you know something we don't, or as someone else said in another thread are you just trolling?
  2. My thoughts exactly. The name is cheesy but was the best description of their greatest accomplishment of the season (winning in the AFC wildcard and divisional rounds). The colts being in the AFC championship game will be how they and we remember their season (deflategate obviously helps our memory retention); just like how we always remember that the Jets made back to back AFC championships (I don't think they hung a banner though). I believe they just wanted to commemorate their success with something physical. Their division is crap so they wanted to show they did a little more. Short sighted possibly because people will probably forget the terrible division later. I don't mind them putting up banners when the getting is good. Success doesn't last forever. As for the NCAA basketball, I think we all agree there is more parity in the NFL then with the 300 D1 teams in NCAA basketball. I am confused why Final Four or Elite 8 banners are ok but National Runner Up is not. I would think the players have >= pride and <= regret when they look at a National Runner Up Banner versus a Final Four Banner. I still need to learn how to use multiquote.
  3. Lots of team hang sweet sixteen banners, and the NFL playoffs are a tournament. I don't like the wording but think hanging a banner for their postseason run is ok because they won 2 playoff games. That's not easy and something worth celebrating (just maybe not with the memory of "oh yeah we blew it").
  4. My response was to a post about why haven't they cut him YET. He's toast in my opinion, but at this current moment there is no reason/benefit to cut him. If you did cut him you would just have the cap room. If you want to sign someone, then you cut him when the deal is inked. His position on the team is very tenuous.
  5. Its hard... it takes time and effort. I'll try to increase my productivity but I make no promises.
  6. Because mandatory mini camp starts next week; thus, he will be here next week (if he wants to get paid). You lose nothing by having him come and show what he has. I think there's a whole thread to this, but I haven't read much of it.
  7. I also view Hogan more favorably than Goodwin. Conservatively he gives you 1 more first down per game and loses you a 50 yard TD every 4 games. I think for our offense (and more importantly defense) taking the extra first down a game will be huge. I disagree that Lewis is better than Goodwin. I think Lewis is still too raw at this in point in time to really be useful (and I'm high on him, it should be easy to find with my low post count). I think both Hogan and Goodwin make the team. and Lewis gets stashed on the PS. I don't think a team would take him off waivers to put him on their 53 man roster (17th in round 7 with 3 WRs going before him).
  8. I think one of Mario or Jerry (currently thinking Mario) will have their hand down as a DE, and someone in our LB corp will be the 4th OLB (more athletic of Powell or Johnson). I believe the FO has a good eye for young LB talent (Bradham and Brown), and one of the mid level guys will step up. I also really like a front of Mario, Kyle, and Marcel. With Jerry on the outside of Mario and Marcel you could run some pretty awesome stunts. But this all assumes we have a really good OLB hiding on our roster.
  9. I like the name because it fit my feelings when we signed him.
  10. Fixed it for you. Spikes didn't see a lot of time last year, and Rex has had solid Run defenses. Additionally, Whaley has shown an ability to pick good ILBs. I think Ty Powell will fill in if necessary (hopefully not).
  11. In another thread it was specifically mentioned how the line was going to have lots of personnel changes at first, and there would be a freak out the first time Player X gets put with the two's. Its OTAs! I look at the upside of having Seantrel or Kujo being a swing tackle also.
  12. Worked for me. Good read. Everything has been brought up here before, and point 5 (they were so bad they can improve) is a throw away. Otherwise good piece on what I think will be the key to success this year.
  13. I think he is using the "fair superior offensive coaches" (his mispelling not mine) as the basis for his theory. I do agree, Tannehill has had better coaches.
  14. 14 games last year. I was high on the Orton decision when it was made, but have been convinced by posters on here that we probably should have gone back to EJ. I mean really its all been said before. Monster defense with pretty good players on offense (this year we seem to have upgraded). Trying to get over that ridiculous playoff hump. While my post count may be low that does not mean I don't read (cause in honesty this site has a good interface). I did really like your point on Martavis Bryant, but I would like to see more than one data point was basically all I was saying.
  15. I am so confused. Are you saying size matters in the red zone or any where? If size only matters in the redzone, then your rebuttal should have some more analysis. Did randall cobb score a significant number of TDs from outside the redzone, what type of formations score in the redzone (2 TE's versus 4 WRs)? I am willing to hear your point but I need a bit more. If you think size matters anywhere, then I need a lot more.
  16. For OTA's Yes, but overall No. I am most interested in the O-Line battle. If the O-Line is good we can run and one of the 3 QB's should have enough time to throw. But since theres no contact during OTA's this will get put off to TC, thus QB battle will be what I watch for OTA's.
  17. Any time he is on the field a CB is not. I don't think he needs to be fast to be productive. He will be thrown at when the defense runs zone (assuming he is a smart player with good hands). When the defense runs man we'll be throwing to Sammy or Percy. Really just need him to be able to block to get significant time.
  18. The ref seemed to throw the flag for D PI on that play. I think thats why he couldn't high point it. I am interested to see how he develops in a couple of years. Maybe he could be a good replacement for Harvin after next year.
