  1. Yeah wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland's top two DL are suspended multiple games. Guess they didn't want to WC spot after all.
  2. I've noticed that McD will sometimes call timeout on Defense for what, I think, he considers to be potentially drive stopping plays. He did a similar thing against NE once, where he called a TO on 4th and 1 in order to have the right defensive formation. It worked, NE punted instead, but the Bills lost anyways so I doubt too many people noticed.
  3. I honestly do not get the Jauron comparison. By that logic we should have compared Rex and Gailey because both had good offenses and bad defenses. McD goes for it on 4th a lot and we had plays today that were too aggressive. I guess if McD is intentionally icing leads, which I'm not convinced he is doing, then that is one similarity.
  4. So frustrating. People here are comparing go for it 4th and 4 twice McD, to jauron LOL. It just sucks and we're all tantruming.
  5. Doctor's will not let him play. Is Stafford tough or crazy?
  6. Stevie Johnson could finally be allowed to do creative TD celebrations.
  7. To add to that he is also going to get a borderline top 10 pick from Chicago.
  8. Teller is starting for them. I wonder how he has been playing.
  9. There was a year where the Eagles went 8-8 or something, but would beat teams like the Patriots and lose to bottom dwellers. I feel like this Cleveland is worse than that, but has that same potential. I agree with you that this is a hard game to predict.
  10. But muh emotions! Seriously though. The media lives or dies by generating clicks and the more they can rile up people and get a reaction the better and nothing evokes reactions quite like hyperbole. Next year there will be a similar article about another 6-2 team.
  11. I know this thread is about Oliver, but I want to tangent real quick. Was D. Johnson inactive yesterday? It looks like he had no snaps.
  12. I wonder how much of it falls on Josh and how much of it falls on Daboll. Beasley is our 3rd down outlet and it would be nice to see Josh use him multiple times a game to keep drives moving.
  13. The irony is that economically the smartest thing to do during an NFL draft is to trade down due to injuries and simply a scouting departments inability to be accurate 100% of the time. And despite that, this regime seems way more likely to trade up. Article on why trading down is the best thing to do
  14. I think I would say that the 2007 team's top players were better, but that this team has better depth. I'm not worried about Kroft jumping out of the back of the endzone to catch a ball.
  15. Angry reactions aside that he dare something bad about our team, I am wondering how much he is generalizing. I would think that between Pettine and Schwartz he would have had opportunities better than playing for Rex.
  16. I guess it's comforting to know that when we let our TE's walk, they still suck.
  17. No, they don't. They'll have to invest in a FA QB.
  18. I mean it looks like he has battling experience. Some here might consider him an upgrade to Daboll.
  19. It is, to me, amazingly ironic. Coaches have a job of evaluating players, identifying mistakes they are making and working tirelessly to fix them. It seems so strange that the idea of applying that same feedback to themselves is novel.
  20. Hey all, I know the general sentiment here about PFF, but as a guy who enjoys numbers and statistics I figured I would bring up a point anyways. As you know PFF tends to be quite critical of Allen where our forum debates to what extent that critique is warranted, something I'd mention though is to what extent PFF seems to neglect mentioning Allen's improvement these past couple of weeks. By my count, and I don't have elite so I can't go back and check, Allen's grade has trended up significantly since the Patriots game. Note the game by game scores are guesses based of Allen's overall grade, so technically they are almost non-guesses thanks to math. Week 1 score-57ish slightly below average Total rating 57ish Week 2 score-75ish strong game by Allen Total rating 66ish Week 3 score-52ish below average game for Allen, Total rating 60ish Week 4 score-34ish extremely poor game for Allen, Total rating 50ish Unsurprisingly we see Allen have an extremely bad game against the Patriots similar to everyone else who has played them. Week 5 score-70ish strong game by Allen Total rating 57ish Week 6 score-75ish strong game by Allen Total rating 60ish. Allen has played two great games by their measures and yet one hardly hears a peep about that. In addition to that Allen now has an average grade as a QB, especially important noting that last year his passing grade at the end of the season is poor. The Bills still have a lot of kinks to work out, but the fact is that Allen seems to be improving and if that is something he continues to do we have a lot to feel excited about even if the experts who see it hardly comment on it.
