All Rookies QB's final stats and prorated to 16 games
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not quite the same, but I took only the stats from each of their starts (Lamar's were super skewed otherwise) and extrapolated on a per attempt basis as opposed to a game by game basis. -
Ratings are based on this year's production, not past reputation or future expectations. How does it line up with how you'd rank the QB's 2018 Season?
-
Okay, the regular season is in the books and the dust has settled. Here's how the rookies ranked out in my QB Rating System: Here is the overall table with every Rookie QB Season since 2011 (min 200 attempts): The rookie QB stats don't necessarily correlate to success, but the guys at the top do appear less likely to bust. What do you guys think?

I'll be doing that tomorrow while I have my morning coffee. With just the rookies, as well as compared with every rookie QB season since 2011.

I don't believe in the 3 year plan happening in '19
BuffaloHokie13 replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apologies for the inevitable length of this post. We have an estimated $89M in cap space. Reserve $10M for the draft picks we currently possess, leaving $79M. Re-sign Jordan Phillips (3 yr, 18M), Eddie Yarbrough (2 yr, $1.5M), Reid Ferguson (5 yr, $5M), and Lorenzo Alexander (1 yr, $3.5M). Their combined 2019 Cap Hits are $10.25M. Still $68.75M left. Sign Golden Tate (3 yr, $40M), Jermaine Kearse (4 yr, $28M), Tyler Kroft (3 yr, $22.5M), Quinton Spain (5 yr, $60M), Mitch Morse (5 yr, $40M), Ja'Wuan James (4 yr, $30M), and Eric Rowe (4 yr, $34M). Their combined 2019 Cap Hits are $40.5M. Still $28.25M left. With that, our roster - before the draft - with $28.25M left in cap space, is: QB - Josh Allen, Matt Barkley RB - Lesean McCoy, Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy, Keith Ford FB - Pat DiMarco WR - Golden Tate, Robert Foster, Jermaine Kearse, Zay Jones, Isaiah McKenzie, Ray Ray McCloud TE - Charles Clay, Tyler Kroft, Jason Croom OT - Dion Dawkins, Ja'Wuan James, Ike Boettger, Conor McDermott OG - Quinton Spain, Wyatt Teller, Vlad Ducasse OC - Mitch Morse, Russell Bodine ------------------------ DT - Star Lotulelei, Harrison Phillips, Jordan Phillips DE - Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, Shaq Lawson, Eddie Yarbrough OLB - Lorenzo Alexander, Matt Milano, Corey Thompson ILB - Tremaine Edmunds, Julian Stanford S - Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Rafael Bush, Siran Neal CB - Tre'Davious White, Eric Rowe, Taron Johnson, Levi Wallace, Ryan Lewis, Denzel Rice ------------------------- LS - Reid Ferguson K - Stephen Hauschka P - Corey Bojorquez That's 50 players before factoring in draft picks, with $28.25M in cap space. Guys in blue are the FAs I suggested, guys in red are cut candidates/potential upgrade spots. If we cut Keith Ford, Ike Boettger, Corey Thompson, or Ryan Lewis we save $570k (each) If we cut Ray Ray McCloud we save $490k If we cut Charles Clay we save $4.5M If we cut Conor McDermott we save $645k If we cut Vlad Ducasse we save $2M If we cut Russell Bodine we save $2.375M If we cut Trent Murphy we save $5.075M If we cut Julian Stanford we save $1.35M If we cut Rafael Bush we save $1.5M If we cut Siran Neal we save $427k If we cut Denzel Rice we save $720k If we cut ALL OF THEM we have 36 players on the roster, leaving 17 spots before draft picks and $49.6M to fill those spots with other FAs or camp cuts. Even if we only kept 6 of our 10 draft choices that's still ~$3.5M per spot leaving $11M of wiggle room for in-season moves & rollover. And really, even if you cut all of them you are mostly replacing depth. The only 2 starters in there are Clay & Murphy and Clay may be replaced by Kroft anyway. -
4 year, $36 million extension for Quincy Enunwa
BuffaloHokie13 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A little higher than expected from an AAV perspective, but certainly in the ballpark. -
How about a comp that Beane is familiar with: Deangelo Williams. Yeah, yeah, same school laziness. They're very similar and the way they produce all-purpose yards is similar too.

I'll take a shot at the 2019 offense FA's
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's plenty of room, honestly. I put together mock contracts for all of the guys in my plan and valued them pretty fairly (imo). The 6 guys I listed have a combined 2019 cap hit of $36M, leaving $56M for re-signing our own, draft picks, and some splashes on D (based on the $92M figure I've seen floating around). And that's with Golden Tate at 3 years $36M, and Jermaine Kearse and 4 years $24M. Even if you bumped Tate to $14M AAV and Kearse to $9M AAV we'd still probably have ~$45-50M left in 2019. -

BuffaloHokie13 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ideally I'd agree, but FA is before the draft so you can't let what you want to happen in the draft dictate your FA signings. I'm not so high on Jonah, and think he's better suited for guard (like Dawkins). I'm not sure Greg Little loves football. If he does I would certainly be interested in him depending on who is left when we pick. If FA played out like I outlined above I'd go for pass rush in round 1 and WR in round 2, assuming the value is there. -
how did you decide to build your guy?

Golden Tate Jermaine Kearse Tyler Kroft Quinton Spain Mitch Morse Ja'Wuan James QB: Josh Allen, Matt Barkley RB: Lesean McCoy, Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy, Keith Ford WR-X: Golden Tate WR-Z: Robert Foster, Isaiah McKenzie WR-Slot: Jermaine Kearse, Zay Jones TE: Tyler Croft, Jason Croom LT: Dion Dawkins, Ike Boettger LG: Quinton Spain, Vlad Ducasse C - Mitch Morse RG: Wyatt Teller, Vlad Ducasse RT: Ja'Wuan James, Ike Boettger Draft a WR you think can eventually step into WR-X (Metcalf, Harmon, Johnson, etc.), some OL Depth, and maybe a TE. I don't think he makes it to FA, so not excited at this point. -
Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Congratulations and thanks to Kyle! Time to extend Jordan Phillips! -
Gaming buddy talked me into buying it against my better judgement. I'm enjoying it so far, though he's definitely helped since he had a head start!
-
At RB I like TJ Yeldon (for the right price), though I'm still looking at someone to draft in rounds 3 or 4. At WR we could try to reassemble the 2012 Seattle team and make offers to Golden Tate and Jermaine Kearse. I also have really liked Justin Hardy since he came out of school. At TE I like Tyler Kroft, Jesse James, either of the Baltimore guys (Maxx Williams & Nick Boyle), and Clive Walford. For OL I'm on the Quinton Spain & Mitch Morse plan. If you want to throw in a Ja'Wuan James or Darryl Williams over Mills that's fine too. I'm interested in Eric Rowe as well, depending on cost.

Nah. Usually it's superheros or Star Wars -
hit level 13 last night. First 10 levels went fast, then is kinda slowed down a bit.

BuffaloHokie13 replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It depends. Maybe once a year sometimes, other times maybe every other month. I have a buddy with moviepass and he usually just asks if I want to go with him to anything he thinks I'll like. A group of us do Star Wars at midnight every year. -
