  1. no tackle? Easier said than done. Teams don't let their stud Olinemen walk. Most of the successful teams have built their line through the draft, and that means they are going to have to spend 1s and 2s not 5s on linemen. I'm not sold on Teller or Dawkins and they still need depth.
  2. I don't see any improvement in footwork, which was important for his progression. His decision making is coming along very slowly, but he has yet to stop trying to make the big play over the right play. I'm sure his velocity also makes near catches quite a bit more difficult. That being said, the WR corp is terrible. Even easy catches are missed because they try to catch with their body more often than not. All around it's a cluster.
  3. It wasn't a great throw. Could have been caught, but not a sure thing. I think that in and of itself is a narrative that is getting pushed a lot around here. The Bills aren't the worst team for drops either even though that seems to be a favorite talking point around here. It also makes sense that the Bills QB is under a microscope on the Bills message board. I watched the Detroit game and would never say Allen was much better. Dinks and dunks are a legitimate tool that he can't seem to grasp, but don't fault other teams for utilizing them correctly.
  4. pairs well with the defense that is very poor in the red zone.
  5. When was this proven? The lack of pressure and ability to stop the run has, if nothing else, proven to me that bargain linemen don't work. I don't want them to use a first on a DT, but I don't agree with your reasoning.
  6. There is a very good reason he didn't get many reps in college. He needs to learn to use his hands when he catches. Id be interested to see what percentage of WRs develop that skill after College.
  7. I think that Dawkins needs to move, so that would account in our difference of opinion. That whole line needs new additions if only for depth purposes.
  8. I can't disagree with this enough. They need OL bad and anything less than a first is an insult to team building. They need at least 1 tackle and 2 guards because Teller hasn't proven anything yet. WR and RB can be acquired later or through FA much easier than a LT.
  9. Big game wins. Bowl games, conference championships, and rivalry games are important. You can look back and see many of the great QBs carrying their team to victory in important games. Even for guys on stacked teams there is usually 1 or 2 games a year where they actually have to perform. EJ played on a stacked team, but he shrunk and had terrible games when they needed a QB. Against Florida his senior year he got exposed and threw 3 interceptions. They were basically a decent QB from the National Championship at that point.
  10. I think the plays called are a product of his trouble with short passes. He also has a history of trying to push everything. I don't agree with your theory that you can get an aggressive QB to checkdown, but I hope it's true.
  11. None of that helped, but he had his fair share of issues in college too. He really under performed at both levels and I think we discount that too often here. I can't think of a QB who wasn't a proven winner just developing into one in the NFL.
  12. He doesn't get a pass because he tries to throw everything downfield. Passing up the correct shorter throw for a longer one is a poor excuse.
  13. Might have something to do with his accuracy issues with short passes. The must unbelievable misses always seem to be on simple dump passes. I also think that he has a knack for looking for the big play instead of the correct play. Even in college he had a tendency to try and push everything instead of making the right throw and moving the ball. I'm not going to put a lot of stock in how far he tries to throw it all the time since that doesn't seem to be a meaningful stat when measured against other winning QBs.
  14. Trading your highly rated LT to get a QB never made sense. It might be how it happened, but I'm willing to bet there were better ways.
  15. Hyde and Poyer were typical Whaley finds. Hyde especially was used as a hybrid safety/corner, so he probably flew under a lot of teams radar. He came from a very bad pass defense too. I like Edmunds, but I think his future is OLB and that leaves a big hole in the middle. White is getting picked on here at the end of the season, but can you imagine him and Darby? What idiot would trade him for a third string slot receiver? Hope they pass on Dawkins or move him to RT. He isn't nearly as good as Glenn. They need to draft a stud who can actually recover. That's not a good thing. I'm not sure it takes much to convince Terry either. You still can't blame Whaley for the cap when you decide to jettison the talent and incur the penalties of an Overforf contract. Glenn most of all could've been huge for this current team.
  16. It does matter when you could stay competitive and move on when the contracts came with less of a hit. It's not like they really got anything important from the contracts they shed. You can't use the cap excuse when they caused it.
  17. I keep seeing cap hell, but how much of that was self imposed?
  18. He has over thrown the fastest guy on the field multiple times and under threw a couple too. Those WRs aren't good, but his deep ball leaves a lot to be desired. I think a lot of the problem is the lack of air time.
  19. Maybe if they start connecting on more deep balls it would be more enticing?
  20. His numbers definitely make no sense. At 4 he places a guy that can't be judged on passing lol. He would've been better off giving his short descriptions in order of the draft.
  21. IDK, all of the talent they acquired is doing quite well on other teams. You can't trade or release all the young talent and then point the finger at the previous regime for the lack of talent. We could be 2 guards away from a good line, but now it's at least 1 tackle and 2 guards because they decided to part with Glenn. Teams like the Bills don't just get big name free agents, so you better hope for an amazing draft.
  22. I'm not sure he is there yet. He is really really fast, but his hands are still made of stone. Hopefully he gets over that though. I'm also not ready to pump up Levi because there is barely any data to go off of. Just because they didn't throw his way doesn't mean he is playing lock down. It could just mean that there are holes all over the defense.
  23. Why do people keep saying he would've won that game. It took Peterman to come in to get any movement on offense. Think about how sad that is. Allen didn't look good in that game at all.
  24. I think the Star pickup is telling. Their pro-scouting so far has been lacking. Good O linemen also don't become available often. The fact that people think that's how they will rebuild the line is laughable. The Glenn trade looks worse each week.
  25. I mean you could be added to the he never does anything wrong group. It's easy to just call out people with different opinions.
