Did anyone not believe that there would be growing pains with a QB who never started a game before? TT has the potential to be a very good QB but it will take some time. That was the thought process behind staring him, that the defense would keep us in every game while he improved. It didn't work yesterday but look at the schedule, we have a very good chance to be 5-2 going into the bye week. That said, I think that EJ should be the backup and Cassell not dressing. We have to have a mobile QB with our O-line.

I'm glad you brought this topic up. I'm worried about it. I keep hearing about how Rex will help Darby with a safety once the season starts and he's just testing him now. Teams will overload his side so the safety will be occupied and Darby will have to be one on one in some situations. I'm hoping Graham will play corner until Leodis comes back. Brooks isn't great but he's been in the league about 3 years now and doesn't draw all the PI penalties.

EJ earned the start. The long td pass against Carolina was a dime. The game winning drive and two point conversion for the win definitely earned it for him. Best numbers of all 3 qb's so far.

Totally agree. I was and am a huge JK fan but the tank was empty when he retired. He was a total statue in the pocket and couldn't even hardly move. It would have been a sad sight to see him in another uniform.

I want to see no major injuries, especially to key players. Next to that, I hope a QB establishes themselves as a clear cut number 1. I don't care who, just someone step up and take command of the offense.

This was the point that I was going to make. The McCoy trade makes sense for a team that wants to be a run first offense plus his receiving out of the backfield is one of the best in the league. The Harvin money should have been spent shoring up the O-line. There is a reason Harvin has been on so many teams in the past few years and can't make an impact as a WR.

I think that it's worth taking a chance with Taylor. I looked at his college stats and he did get better each year. His senior year he had a 59.7 completion percentage and 24 td's with 5 picks. Those are good numbers. He hasn't had a shot in Baltimore so who knows? Make him the starter this year, probably not. A developmental project for next year, worth the chance.

I can't stand watching all their apologists' on tv, especially Bruschi on ESPN flat out lying for them. Quarterbacks are so important in today's NFL and colleges are turning out so few pro style QB's that teams are forced to gamble on them and hope they get lucky.

It seems like an excellent breakdown of E.J.'s career so far. People tend to forget that he was supposed to learn from Kolb for a year or two and lost his preseason as a rookie. He has shown flashes of really good play but also misses on easy plays. This will be a fair test for him this year as he is not Rex's guy and he owes him no loyalty. If he wins the QB battle in camp, great. If not, he's a solid backup. Either way this is the make or break year for him. I hope he succeeds because he seems like a great kid.

He couldn't even stay on the Cowboys practice squad. They have one of the worst D-lines in the league. So he should make the roster of the team with the best D-line in the league? Come on man!!
