You can have no interest in developing a QB, no dispute there. But when you have a superstar QB, the development comes from mentoring and guidance from the guy above him as much as it does coaching staff. The point isn’t about drafting a guy to replace or “become the next Josh” but rather an insurance policy incase something happens because if it does this team isn’t going to win much. The point isn’t every year but once in a while to take a flier on a guy you have as that insurance or are able to exchange for future draft pick/s to get another shot at a Milano, Taron, Shakir or Benford… Mitch was dreadful in Pittsburgh, a team that is very friendly for a QB. They moved on to Kenny Pickett because he wasn’t doing enough, which even then had to be pretty minimal. If you believe Mitch can be successful at leading us to multiple wins if Josh is unavailable, more power to you. I was in that camp prior to his Pittsburgh 2 year deal. Not anymore. There’s better options out there. Grooming a backup versus a guy who’s played a ton of football and done so very averagely since his Sophomore year seems like a smarter option. Especially when you revert it back to your point about rather having a chance at more late round gems; you could get something for him.

lol I understand what you meant, i just feel with where Milton was drafted it wouldn’t even be an issue. Purely development and backup, now if he was a first round pick? Sure, there might be some sentiment where there could be an issue. Even then, with who Josh is and how he plays, Milton (you would think) would be soaking it all in to learn from such a uniquely elite talent.

Multiple firsts for a CB? No way, not with what we got. At least to me, that would be absurd unless you have top end productive blue chip talent at the defensive line & LB that is proven to be reliable in the biggest moments. An elite game wrecking defensive lineman (Donald/Chris Jones/Jalen Carter) or pass rusher (like the trade talks this past year; Max/Myles/Micah) moves the needle for the secondary as whole.

Ethan, that’s quite surprising as you seem to be a knowledgeable poster from what I’ve seen… That one by Taron sealed the deal in a huge playoff game that the Bills were in the cusp of completely falling flat in. Baltimore clawed the momentum and punching it in for 6 might have been the undoing of the night. On top of that, it’s very recent.

Great point and on consideration he probably is.

The Jets cut two good ones: Fatorma Mulbah and Phidarian Mathis

As hilarious as that is, it’s actually spot on.

It wasn’t my post. It was @TheyCallMeAndy lol I just out the names in for quick reference instead of the numbers.
-
How did he fare? I missed a large portion of the game unfortunately. Thanks

All for celebrating but you got to know the meaning of what you’re doing… Especially when playing a team from Los Angeles and doing a gang sign used in that region 😂 (I found this out cause our son was making TikTok videos doing it… thought “wtf does that even mean”.)

The colors aren’t matching the measurement score itself. Not even remotely. Minor differences have either drastic positive or negative RAS… For instance a faster 40 for Hamlin is graded lower than a slower one on the Athletic Scoring. Millimeter height difference is a 3.3 RAS difference? Their 3 cone scores are almost identical, splitting hairs, but 1.09 lower for Hamlin? Shuttle is no difference. One decimal place for Hamlin (4.4) vs. (4.35) for Ciarlo… is Hamlin rounded up or down? Either way, 5 whole points for a minute difference is bizarre. Not saying Hamlin is one thing or not but if you’re defining it specifically by position, that’s perplexing when the overall sizes are not far off each group and you’re testing general athleticism.

lol that post was a repeat of @TheyCallMeAndy but names included. I do completely agree on Dane and Andy’s point. This hasn’t been even a remotely decent preseason for him. Thought he’d adjust and show some bright spots periodically throughout time on the field but it’s overwhelmingly been poor. I also wonder how to your one point, how much trust you can have when he already, at a base line level, had a leg up on the younger guys brought in.

Honestly, I don’t think Gore Jr. is a try hard player. On a different team I think he is the #3 RB.
-
High 4 (Cook) - Always 96 (Walker) - Was the best player on the defense 6 (Buechele) - Balled out, as the kids say. Fearless. 20 (Gore Jr.) - His improvement from last year to this year is crazy. 80 (Shavers) - WR4. Nuff said 19 (Hamler) - Made a case to be the WR5 29 (Codrington) - Good returns 35 (Ciarlo) - Was just everywhere. Maybe still more P-Squad level, but made plays. 36 (Hollis Jr.) - Was apparently signed today and actually made some positive impact. 24 (Bishop) - Laid some hits. Low 18 (Moore) - Same old. Drops, low impact 1 (Samuel) - Missed game due to illness. 15 (Shenault) - Little impact at WR but made some big 'teams mistakes. 23 (Dane Jackson) - He's had a rough preseason 90 (DeWayne Carter) - Not sure if he even played 40 (Brad Robbins) - The whole sick thing is weird. (Had to double check who #36 was, figured listing the names might help anyone who doesn’t know the name matching the jersey immediately. Sorry.)

Don’t dismiss an owner!

I hear ya, I know preseason isn’t the be all end all but the fact, especially during the final game, players are competing for roster spots. It’s not going through the motion and figuring a lot of things out as it is the previous games. It’s guys who are giving maximum effort or nearly every play due to the fact, essentially an audition for the rest of the league if it doesn’t work out with the current team. (Not saying there isn’t max effort from starters as there is, it’s just not the same talent pool if you will)
-
Promising signs from Walker again. If the guy can become consistent, he might turn out to be one heck of a player.
-
I hear you as Josh has handily gotten it done in the playoffs to make, if not potentially win a Super Bowl. However, it is the ultimate team game unfortunately.
-
Shadeur, evades the sack runs OoB for -3 yards. Following play, evades multiple sacks initially only to go down for -24… 😂 Plenty of chances to throw it away on both plays.

Of course. Always ready for the sauna then massage. 🫢

We’re all in that agreement! I’m sure over half of their own fan base too!!! 😂
-
The TD throw was nice but man, he’s gonna get a guy killed by being too late or too high on the pass. Something that’s frequent with him in this game. Hope he can correct that.
-
That’s absolutely it Neph’. Well put. Absolutely agree, some things should probably be steered away from when joking without a comedic setting.

Hopefully people realize that tweet is loaded with sarcasm.
