Josh Allen Returns to MVP Form-- Jim Kubiak BN
Sojourner replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh is still THE man on this team but so far, from an offensive standpoint, Cook is the guy in MVP form for this team. -
The slogan is “Just Do It” Youd have shoes for your elbows or knees no doubt. ✔️

Would be interesting to see who the targets were in their entirety. Is it just doing something to appease fans by “going after a guy”? If they were going after anyone you’d like to think it would be a difference maker; Olave, AJ Brown, Waddle or Garrett Wilson. If those were the preferred choices, the return was always going to be significant to their respective teams. Obiously they were either not available or the offers weren’t up to par. Im on both sides of the fence on this one. It would have been nice to acquire any of those players who are elite or on that potential but keeping the draft capital for future also makes sense given the salary cap implications those guys would entail. Hopefully Theyre willing to move out of the late 20’s to 32 given that’s the projection of pick placement and up into the region where Lemon/Tyson/Boston are being projected- 12-18 range. Would love Carnell Tate if he declares but I’d bet he’s a top 10 pick with the way this college season is going.

Value worked out, won’t deny that. I think Addison was gone by that point? I believe the next WR after Kincaid was Jonathon Minho? Yup, that was how it panned out. Not knocking the pick for one second. He’s a solid player, was just weird to give a massive extension to a TE, draft a replacement that essentially turned a high salary guy into a role player.
-
Love Kincaid and he’s the better player than Knox but that pick was a bit of a headscratcher seeing as they tied Knox into an extension right before. But going back to that 2023 there isn’t a great deal of WRs who are decent after that. Rashee Rice and an up and down Jayden Reed is about it.

Well coached annd not to be taken lightly indeed. The adjustments in that Browns game were top notch. Obliterated one of the best defenses in the league.

Serious question how good are 7-2 AFC teams (and LAC at 6-3)

Valid point but the Colts are with decent pass catchers. Pittman and Warren are a problem. -
Bet you he claimed the players on his Fantasy Football waiver wire though!

In some aspect sure but I’d rather be focused on any improvement our team is making than those that were or were not made of a team who has been the standard in the AFC and another who is on a massive rise in its infancy and a division rival to boot. We’ll be fine but it’s a letdown nonetheless.

If the talk is they asked about Garrett Wilson, he might think that appeases everybody. Nice to go after the unobtainable… Im gonna try and bag Gal Gadot asap!

For sure. There’s a lot of issues that won’t fix by just adding another guy who’s been the number one dude in Washington with Terry out and hasn’t come up with the goods. Not being a fan is more of the acquisition to the team and not indicative of the player himself. He has a role just not the one many; fans and people in the know have suggested we lack. The compensation both draft picks and cash is the issue. If Keon would be the person Deebo would be then maybe move him and recoup a later pick to even out the deal given his age and injury history?

As I said, reasonable teams. Broncos, Rams and Chargers are the notable wins. I’m not advocating the Steelers are great or a top team. Theyre similar to the Cardinals. Quality defense that can be a problem when the offense can manage to move the ball and score consistently in a game. -
Not a fan of Deebo. Too many guys working the underneath and intermediate stuff already; pretty much the whole guys who catch the ball lol

Colts just had a dud game. Turned the ball over and out that Steelers game out of reach. If they don’t perform against the Chiefs coming out of their bye week I may get on board with them not being a legit contender but right now Theyre 3-2 against reasonable teams (Broncos, Rams, Cards, Chargers, Steelers). Rams loss was a close one, probably would have won it if AD Mitchell didn’t fumble the ball on a 70 yard catch. The other teams they beat? Not good ones. And they blew the brakes off each of them; something a good team should do. -
Someone mentioned the BTJ and Hunter injuries as to why the jags went after him. Whilst one can hope he is available, after reading that the Meyers trade makes sense for them. They’re still in with a shot to make the playoffs in the AFC, getting that help for the position does something.

I think its time - Call Christian Wilkins!

A kissing booth in the locker room is the acquisition we need most! -
Cowboys vs Cardinals on MNF: No Bills talk please!

That makes sense, I haven’t watched a lot of their games since Manning retired so it’s really just the bigger names and not what they are actually doing or expected of. I do remember him for the Tar Heels and he was solid. That Dowdle point is on it. Surprised they let Dowdle and Pollard walk in back to back years. Dowdle certainly impressed and is continuing to do so for Carolina since he got the chance. Sometimes it’s a change of scenery and opportunity I guess. -

I was looking at his stats when you replied. He played in 17 games last season, started 11. 16 and 13 in 2023. He’s now 3 years removed from the injury. So is it solely Payton? The JK Dobbins signing is a similar player. So it can’t be the style he is as a player? -
