  1. With each passing day I am feeling this way more and more as well. I think the problem is that most teams willing to trade down just don't want to trade out of the top 10. I also think we might do something crazy like give up four first round picks to move up to 2 or 4. Or three first round picks just to move up to 6.
  2. Barkley is the safe pick but doesn't mean it's the right pick. If the Giants truly believe in Eli and think he will be able to play at a high level for at least three more years then you could make a case for Barkley. AP was a great running back, probably the best back to come out in the last 20 years or so. But even with that being the case how many playoff games did the Vikings win with him? One? Hitting on a QB can get you to multiple Super Bowls. It's worth the risk even if you end up busting.
  3. Kicker has always been the Chargers Achilles heal for years.
  4. I want to get the guy Beane and McDermott actually covet. That means moving up to #2. Jets obviously are not moving out of #3. Trading up to only #4 or #5 guarantees you the third QB off the board at best. Possibly the 4th off the board. That means you are settling for a QB you may not even covet as much as the 1st or 2nd guy on your board. Just move to #2 and get the guy you really like. If that is Allen then so be it. Plus, at least we didn't get outmaneuvered by the Jets by moving up to #2.
  5. Don't they say Mayfield may be the most accurate QB in this draft? I'd take Mayfield #1 overall if we had the chance.
  6. If you think the QB is worthy of a first round pick, especially at 22, but you also have a pick at #12 then you just take him at #12. You don't mess around with the QB position. He's either good enough or not.
  7. LOL. Pot calling the kettle black?
  8. Mostly how I see it as well. I'd switch Cutler to Darnold's floor instead of Dalton. And put in Doug Flutie (the good one with the Bills) as Mayfield's floor.
  9. So with a better roster in Dallas he played average for the position. What makes you think he plays average in Buffalo if we retain him for one more season? He played like dog poop the two seasons prior. He had one good year with us and that's it. And as another poster mentioned, it was really only like his first 8 games or so that were good.
  10. I voted Flutie. If we are talking single season I would vote Bledsoe. But if we are talking their entire tenure with the Bills then I would rank it: 1.Flutie 2.Taylor 3.Bledsoe He was good for four games. Then I found myself actually wondering what EJ might be able to do, I think the actual moment was when he tried to scramble for a first on 4th and 2 against Denver and was stopped like two yards behind the line of scrimmage. He was going run the whole way and didn't even come close to making it. Fitz, Flutie, Taylor, Bledsoe, heck even Johnson maybe too. Too early? He was God awful his last year with us. And I don't recall him doing anything in Dallas other than being benched for Romo.
  11. Proper tackling technique is to tackle with your facemask. Not the crown of your helmet. That's how you end up with an injury like Shazier.
  12. Because every homer on this board has the Jets taking Allen, or any QB not named Rosen. So Allen won't be there at #4 for the Browns. Now with this rumor all those Allen picks for the Jets will be switched to Mayfield.
  13. I took your question as more of a rhetorical question as the answer was obvious. The only team the Bills would not trade places with over the last 17 years is the Browns. That is how pathetic we have been. Yes I rather have the Packers success but that doesn't mean Green Bay hasn't totally mismanaged their good fortune in landing Rogers. Does that make sense?
  14. Would you take it over the Steelers, Broncos or Patriots? Those are teams that have managed to actually build complete teams along with their star QB. And they've been to multiple Super Bowls because of that. Even Russell Wilson has two conference titles.
  15. You're talking about the franchise that has failed to give Aaron Rogers talent around him? A franchise that has managed only one conference championship despite having the best QB in the game the last 8-10 years?
  16. Not sure about that. Johnson will be hitting free agency sooner than Barkley. Barkley will be on a rookie contract for 5 years. Johnson might make less for one or two seasons but he'll make more on his new deal or be franchised. And if Barkley is as good as advertised, he'll be the better back.
  17. Man Colts are getting screwed here. They miss out on Barkley by one pick. Miss out on Chubb. And now they have dropped all the way to 15th in the draft. It was assumed they didn't want to drop out of the top 10 and miss out on elite talent and that is why they dealt with the Jets instead of the Bills. They could have traded to 12th with the Bills and picked up two additional first round picks on top of that for the Bills to move up to 3.
  18. Well there you go. That's why the Colts should have swapped picks with the Bucs. Not a bad pick for the Bucs either IMO. Broncos could still get Mayfield at #7 assuming the Colts stay at #6.
  19. Why did the Bears trade with the 49ers when they didn't need to? Colts could get nervous that another team will try to trade up for the player considered to be the best in the draft. I still see the Broncos as a wild card too. They could go QB or they could go a number of different ways as well.
  20. I see Denver moving back one spot and Colts moving up one spot to get Barkley here.
  21. Giants are traditionally a well run organization. Should it concern us that they don't see value in drafting Rosen and grooming him under Eli for a year or two?
  22. Not a bad pick at all. Everyone thinks Barkley should be the pick but Garrett and Chubb could be a nasty duo of edge rushers for years to come. Plus, RB is still a dime a dozen position for the most part.
  23. This. You don't mess around with the QB position. You don't take a QB in the first wound, regardless of pick number, just to take one. Taking a QB in the first round automatically comes with long term commitment (three years at minimum). So if you like a QB in the first round just take him with the first chance you have which for us it at #12.
