  1. The NFL works as well as it does because in the 1960 Wellington Mara of the NYG gave up the right to make a far more dominate figure in money and said, ok I'll agree to complete share revenue. That one move insured that the NFL would one day be the most competitive league in professional sports. Unfortunately, today billionaire owners failed to learn their history. They need to share some of that local revenue, and I said some not all. They have an advantage and should be able to keep some but the distance between the top and bottom needs to be shortened.
  2. I know some people do not test well and I know it is a timed test, but couldn't I training my pet cat to beat that score? I know I can find some sixth grades with more cognitive brain function than Young. And honestly, would you really want to trust you teams NFL offense on a guy that can't think in pressure situations? Let along trust him to read an complex NFL defense
  3. Talk about revisionist history. Almost all the draft experts thought the Bills made the right pick in 2002. Stop making it look like the Bills screwed up. Williams just does not have the heart to play in the NFL at the level needed to be a stud. Williams is an NFL players but nothing special, last year he couldn't get it done because he got hurt and at 360 pound his body couldn't heal. I'd love to have Williams in the Bills jersey at 1 million a year but not at a cap figure of 10 + million. First round and top 10 bust happen all the time, stop whining and move on because the Bills have.
  4. anyone want to buy my #68 jersey from me....cheap?
  5. I just hope he shuts the hell up. stop acting like a punk and speak like you have a education!
  6. where is the choice, completely dumb ass post?
  7. For my memory, the worst actual games were: 1. SB 24 - 49ers blast Denver (glad we were bickering that year) 2. SB 27 - Dallas rapes Buffalo (how many turnovers?) 3. SB 20 - Bears maul Patroits (was there any doubt) 4. SB 29 - 49ers destroy Chargers (talk about a mis-match) 5. SB 18 - Raiders beat down Redskins These are so many other bad one it is difficult to pick: Because the Bills lost SB 25-28 all suck but two were decent games. Best SB's were: 1. SB 32 - Denver beat GB 2. SB 13 - Pittsburgh edges Dallas 3. SB 36 - NE edges Rams 4. SB 38 - NE beats Carolina 5. SB 14 - Pittsburgh beats Rams (game was closer than most thought) Can't put SB 25 in there because we lost, too much pain involved... The first SB I remember was SB 12, when Dallas riped Denver 27-10, I was 9, I wasn't alive for the 1st 3 but my dad was at the championchip game where KC destroyed Buffalo to go to SB1.
  8. Theismen just sucks!!! What was wrong with Dan Fouts? He is so much better than that a$$clown
  9. How about the other way around. Salary caps help smaller market teams compete on a more evn playing field. If 2007 goes down the way it look like it might, then BAM, the Bills are dead meat!
  10. I hope so but the HOF voters really have something against WR. There is no reseason that both Art Monk and Michael Irvin should not both in the HOF right now!
  11. Buffalo could never host the SB because there is not enough hotel room and not enough convention space to host all the events. Plus, a 30 year rotation, that sucks! I like switching it up, but Miami, Hoston, San Diego, Phoenix should be 4 out of every 6 games with 2 other cities mixed in from time to time. The new stdaium in Phoenix will become an NFL favorite. Honestly, if your team is in the game, do you care where it is played? Miami fans would be pissed if they made a outdoor NYC super bowl, but most fans wouldn't care! Maybe the NFL should allow players to buy up to 15 tickets and all players the chance to buy tickets. The fans gets screwed big time, having to pay scalper prices. They are one who made the game what it is and yet they get screwed. However, with labor trouble looming, it might not matter because if the cap is lost the game will go to hell so fast, it won't really matter.
  12. No one complained all week about Detroit. About time winter returned but so what the stadium is downtown, 80% of the hotel rooms are downtown, it will not be a problem. I'd like to see Detroit get the game again, failry soon maybe in 2012 or 2013. If they are planning on putting the game in KC and maybe NYC why not back in Detroit!
  13. I agree with those but in all honesty, Tasker, Reed and Hull will never get in. Hull I understand, there are other great linemen getting snubbed each and every year. Reed, is a WR and it seems like the HOF voters have something against WR, no Monk and no offensive but Michael Irvin is a HOFer. Reed was the 2nd or 3rd best receiver behind Rice throughout his career. He retired as the #2 or #3 all time leader receiver and it wasn't like he played 16 years. Tasker was clearily the best special team player in football from 89-96. He dominated special teams like no one before him. He was the best at his position in the entire game which the HOF voters talk about, but his position is not viewed as important by the HOF committee, therefore he has no shot. Bruce and Thurman will be only two we will get to see getting in.
  14. Can't argue with any of the members. Glad to see Warren Moon get the honor.
  15. Aikman White Moon Carson Maiden and one other name I can't recall
  16. Great stat! I like what I just read about the guy. Sounds like an up and coming DC. Hey, we need some fresh blood and this seems like a good hire.
  17. There will be three Thanksgiving games this year with a night game added. The NFL network will be airing that one.
  18. Most SB I pull for the AFC but not this year. I like Seattle and my sister and her husband live out in Washington and they are fans. Plus, I have never liked Pittsburgh and 4 titles, 6 appearences is enough! Go Seahawks!!!
  19. Chicago could block the move because it is a lateral move.
  20. Bates might turn down the DC job because he doesn't like the $$ the Bills have offered. Yet, again, Buffalo trying to pay on the CHEAP!!!
  21. I won't stop until I see evidence otherwise. In my opinion, the rising cost of coaches is hurting smaller market teams like Buffalo but please, the Bills like to hire on the cheap. Why did they pick two first time candiates rather than grabbing a veteran coach. After the Williams disaster, they needed a veteran but nope, we hire baby Mike. Why, he came super cheap! The Bills generate about $178 million in revenue each year, which is on the low end. Washington generates more than $250 million a year, Dallas even more. The Bills shell out about 100-125 million in player salary and bonus money each year. They likely spend a couple million on travel expensives, probably a million or two in scouting, travel expensives related to scouting etc. However, they can't spend $6-8 million on the coaching staff? Maybe now they will because coaches salaries have risen so much. I am not asking Ralph to be Dan Synder but when the last three head coaches all made well below the league average, that says something. Heck, Erie county pays for Stadium maintenance, so there a cost the team doesn't have to worry about. Ralph makes $10-15 million a year easy, probably more. He could afford to double what he spends and make sure the Bills have great, highly qualified coaches and not the left overs.
  22. Secret to the Steelers success two head coaches in my life time. Hint: I was born in 1969. We have had more coaches this century and we are talking only a 5 year period!
  23. Should I be happy over this hire? Why or why not?
  24. Can we shoot this guy for starting this post. Let's hope they never move, but the NFL does seem to want a team in Toronto, but SkyDome is not an NFL stadium.
  25. Great post, lots of interesting reading. Some coaches are better the second time around. Some are not. Soem coaches created a great situation, some got hired into one. Marv got hired at the right time. We had Smith, Reed, Kelly already and just after he arrived we added Bennett, Conlan, and Thomas but he really created the situation here. Maybe Juaron can do the same thing with Evans, JP, Willis and on the other side of the ball Schobal and Spikes.
