People love to slam Buffalo over weather
KRT88 replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is it an active fault or an ancient fault? Since most of NA is located in the center of the North American tectonic plate, major earthquakes are extremely rare. Charleston, SC sufered a major one in the 1860, and the Memphis area (New Madrid fault zone), had three massive quakes with two months during 1812. Beyond those two I am unfamilar with any other major earthquakes east of Mississippi in the past two centuries. Therefore, I would say the risk is extremely minimal. -
OMG, yet another guy that constantly drops passes! He's gonna fit right in!

We B word about oil prices yet we, the american public, allowed the Big three auto companies to continuing using the mid 20th century technology of the internal combustion engine. This country could have moved to alternative fuels years ago, just like Brazil did in the 1960's. 80% of their automobile fuel is ethanol because their government said never again in the 1960's. Our government never embraces change and we are stuck with the same oil problems we had in 1972. Just wait, $4.00 a gallon is a certain by Christmas and $5.00 a gallon is possible by next summer.

Alaska has nothing to do with oil refiners. Two main gasoline pipelines are down because of the hurricane. The pipes feed much of the east and mid-atlantic states. Out west, were talking price gouging.

Wow, look at the damage from Hurricane Katrina, how in the world can people accorss this nation slam Buffalo for its weather? Growing up in North Tonawanda, and living in Niagara county for most of my first 29 year, I never remember WNY getting it with anything close to as devastating as a hurrican,e tornado, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc. So Buffalo gets little snow! And it gets cold from time to time, at least we don't have weather that destroys even 10% of the structures in the area and Katrina looks like it nailed 70 to 80%. Even when south Buffalo got 7 feet of snow in a week a few years back, most people were safe. New Orleans may never be the same and it looks like Gulfport was wiped from the map. My mother always says, snow melts, and not all at once. I now live in NC about 75 miles from the coast and I remember Hurricane Floyd from 1999. It brush my area, but wow, it was a powerful brush, water everywhere, 50 - 60 mph winds, my appartment suffered some damage, my ceiling colasped in my bedroom after I lost some roof tiles, but I didn't care about that. I was safe, I had food, water, power after 48 hours. I can't even imagine what it is like down near the gulf coast. God bless Mississippi, Louisania and southern Alabama. I hope the governments gets some troops down there to help with recovery and aid because those people need help.

I'm no fan of the current uniforms but I really don't want the throwback worn all the time. I like the red hemets, but give me a royal blue back because the current one suck!

The All Blacks just won the most amazing rugby

you mean you can actually understand the sport of rugby? -
I hope they can do a deal with this guy. Maybe 5 years $42 million (that averages $8.4 million and that would put him in the top 5) signing bonus $16 million (counts $3.2 million per year) 1st $2.0 million (cap figure: $5.2 million) 2nd $3.0 million (cap figure: $6.2 million) 3rd $5.0 million (cap figure: $8.2 million) 4th $7.0 million (cap figure: $10.2 million) 5th $9.0 million (cap figure: $12.2 million) Obviously, you'd be redoing the deal after the 3rd year, possibly adding another year and bring $8 million to the front)

Boller looks just awful so far. Baltimore is in trouble if he can't figure some things out. I heard Mel Kiper says I'd taken anyone over Kyle Boller. That's a serious statement as to how bad the kid is at this stage.

Exactly how would having 4 new startes on the Oline be a good thing? Especially for a young QB.

Random observations from the game.

Are we showing too much on defense? Its preseason, what's with all the blitz packages. Seems like this will make it easier to prepare for us the first few games. -
What's the score and time left? I know it was 17-3 at Half but I can't find any updates anywhere. Anything good occuring the 2nd half? Thanks
-
Maybe he'll drown in a pool? wishful thinking, but at least we wouldn't have to hear about him and his ME ME ME attitude every damn day!

Why is a jammed big toe called turf toe?

Did anyone else watch Huddle show on NFL Network
KRT88 replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see why were ingrates we just don't like the show. I'd prefer to do my own channel surfing. What 2 plays here and 4 players there and another 4 over there doesn't do anything for me, so I switched it off and watched a movie. -
Why would you keep 7 WR but only 9 OL. Do we need 10 DB's? I'd keep 9, max. 24 defensive players 26 offensive players 3 special teamers I don't know, hopefully those last few roster spots won't be guys who see much of the field besides special teams. I would keep the guys in blue but I made no additions.

I couldn't stand it. They stay with a game for what, 3 minutes? Sorry I'm not a huge preseason fan but I want to control my channel surfing. I think networks shouldn't do the work for you. Plus they did a crappy job of it! This show was a complete shamble if you ask me, because you couldn't follow anything. -
This team can't buy luck, that's for sure. I like Grossman but he just can't stay on the field. If I was Chicago, I'd go with Kyle Orton. Move on to a guy that could be the answer because if Chad Hutchinson is the answer, I'm afraid of what the question was!

down here in Fayetteville, NC gas prices jumped 14 cents in the last 24 hours.

(LAMP)Going to see Huey Lewis & The News

why? -
There are several causes: 1. Lack of oil refineries in the USA. Arab oil is higher in sulfer and most American plants can't handle it. Also, we simply don't have enough of them. Cities won't allow companies to build more because they are unsightly, create pollution and are likely terrorist targets. 2. China, India and a couple of other countries have added to an increased demand. Supply and demand, if demand is bigger than the supply price goes up. China's demand will continue to increase as they continue to industrialize. 3. America has about 5% (300 million out of 5.5 billion) of the world's population yet we use up almost 40% of world oil. Doesn't leave all that much for the other 95% of the world's population now does it? The USA is suppose to full of smart bright people, than why haven't we imbrased new technologies. All we want is massive SUV's. Hummer get great gas milage. Plus we drive everywhere. When's the last time you rode a bus, or train? And can't the forward motion of a car not be used to create electricity to power the car? Maybe Ford, GM and Chrysler have a little too much influence over the policy makers in Washington! Gas engines are much cheaper to make and it take no new investment capital to continue to build them.

Man that picture of the Kelly family is sad.
KRT88 replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My wife and I just looked at that. Made we want to cry. It has got to be hard for any parent to bury their child. Must be even harder for the two girls. Losing a sibbling so young just breaks the heart. Plus the younger one likely doesn't understand completely. -

foreshadowing to next year's HOF game

Thurman is a lock to get in but I bet it takes Andre four or five years to get in as I have read many voters says they feel he is borderline. If Michael Irvin didn't get in on his first shot and Art Monk has yet to get in Andre Reed will have to wait. Next years class will be one of the best ever for fans of football in the 80's and 90's and since we all know Aikman is a lock it would be good for him to go in with a teammate, but that actually could keep Irvin out another year. Ralph isn't going to get in and its criminal if you ask me. The man was one of the AHL's founding fathers and that league would have died without his support. He deserves to be enshrined.
