  1. creates a sticky situation. Who would come in as HC and be ok with retaining Lynn as OC? No one would want it forced on them for sure.
  2. makes the most sense. Right now the foundation for the O is strong. They are guaranteed 2 solid years of Shady, Watkins, and Clay. The O-line is solid too. Re-sign Woods and gillislee, then fill in depth via FA and draft.Gilmore is the big decision on D. Not signing creates another hole, along with safety. D coordinator will make a difference on Gilmore 's decision as well.
  3. i don't think anyone is claiming he's that. People gave up on Rex because of what happened to the D. Rex took over, and it got much worse. In philly, under Schwartz there's been a significant improvement over last year. Everyone is frustrated, and looking for blame, and it's easy to find blame in anyone you want to scapegoat, though it's much easier to scapegoat Rex based on the data.
  4. so it's your bias against Whaley that makes you try to downplay Schwartz 's D?
  5. How is that an evaluation of Schwartz? It would be better to compare how Philly's D has changed from last year.
  6. i thought it was a question about dishwashers and was going to refer him to the "consumer digest" board...
  7. I'm sure he will be his straight-forward no-nonsense self. I like what I've seen of his pressers.
  8. Hard to disagree, but I know many will...
  9. yep, no mention whatsoever that the D-Rex inherited a top 5 D and proceeded to destroy it.
  10. Woods is the perfect #2 for this offense, a reliable possession receiver and very good run blocker. However, it's clear they need someone behind Sammy if he goes down again. They should re-sign Woods and Gilmore, then pick up a WR with one of the first three picks. All assuming they have a starting QB for next year...
  11. I heard it live as well and thought he sounded frustrated in his response, not really yelling. I'm sure it can be frustrating at times as fans always are looking for heads to roll when things go wrong.
  12. Thanks. Interesting, in Marrone's two years, the team did not average more than 20 ppg.
  13. is there a link which shows this measure for all teams? I'd like to see the revised list.
  14. Another positive about Lynn, he started his coaching career with special teams.
  15. They will definitely purge the team of Rex's HUD coaching program....He hired everyone but his brother...oh, wait...
  16. Not really. An interim HC is also being show-cased, and he won't let them lay an egg.
  17. Well reasoned. The people upset were biased in a particular way, and it's very easy to spin the moves toward one's bias.
  18. It was Schwartz's scheme, just as Pettine ran his scheme. The biggest difference from Marrone's first and second years was the ppg on D, dropping 6 ppg to 18. The O, despite going to Orton, had the same average ppg in both Marrone's seasons. Did Mario not try or play well under Pettine?
  19. That was funny!
  20. That's terrible! Terribly funny! Though I do feel bad for them on a personal level given what's gone on in their lives this year.
  21. Not necessarily. Rex ran a mix of schemes. You can have a similar 4-3 alignment that Schwartz had with Lawson, Dareus, KW (or Washington), and Hughes. LBs of PBrown, Ragland, and ZBrown.
  22. Schwartz got them there. Marrone gets credit for hiring him.
  23. Yes, bring back Schwartz. We agree.
  24. Yes, it's as simple as your last two sentences.
