  1. I read it this way: Rex forced the issue when he spoke to pegula in private. Pegula was decided that he would move on from Rex already and let Rex know man-to-man when Rex raised the question. Had Rex not forced th issue, the decision would've been made this week and Whaley would've been in the middle of the conversation. If Rex was Whaley's guy, then he might've tried to talk to pegula about the decision. Not questioning means he was 100% in favor of it. Given how it played out, Whaley could say he was not privy to the conversation, and he hadn't really thought about the firing, rather he simply moved on and didn't question the move.
  2. they've drafted 3 O-linemen since 2014. One starts at RG and got pretty good reviews this year, one has started at LT 3-4 times this year and received glowing reviews, and one was released (5th rounder). Seems he's done pretty well.
  3. if there's a run of QBs among the qb needy ahead of the Bills, they'll have a good group To pick from.
  4. How could he not have good coaching when the bills have so many of them?
  5. It's pretty clear the pegulas realized Rex was a mistake on many levels. It should also be clear that Rex wasn't Whaley's first choice. I'm sure Rex's philosophy was consistent with whaley's so they could work together. By letting Whaley call the shot this time, they've owned up to the mistake internally. Whether they own up publicly is another matter.
  6. patriots are obviously cheaters...
  7. as I just posted in another thread, the Bills were able to get Wade Phillips in as D.C. Because he was promised the HC job when Marv retired. I could see a similar thing with coughlin agreeing to do 2 years, then handing off to Lynn (or whom ever), so to speak...
  8. i think the odds favor him given whaleys praise. However, I could see the possibility of coughlin coming in for 2 years and retaining Lynn as the OC with an implicit promise it's his job after that. Kind of what they did when Wade came to buffalo as D.C. And took over when Marv retired.
  9. wow! Is that being discussed elsewhere? The point at the end, that Lynn is the person to lead the team in 2017.
  10. groy is an Rfa, so they can offer a tender that would make it tough for others to sign, or provide an attractive draft pick if they did (R2 if the tender is about $2 mil). No matter what they do, their O-line group will be a strength going into 2017.
  11. and as many have pointed out, he was 20 when drafted. Young, raw talent. I think they'll figure it out next year, so RT won't need to be a priority in the draft. On the interior, Lewis is another interesting prospect. Now, if they can only solve that little qb issue...
  12. dont ignore the fact that Rex is the DONALD trump of NFL coaches. He loves the attention, knows how to work the media, and everything he's done is the greatest. He's good at selling himself. Brandon saw $$s, and helped sell him. Maybe someday someone will do an expose?
  13. If he keeps this up against the Jets, the Bills will have a good problem on their hands.
  14. I felt the same way.
  15. Thanks. I missed your original post, and I'm sure many others did too. Important now that he appears to be the favorite for the job. I thought that Casserly interview you posted was important and it seemed many people were missing it too. Need a one-stop thread for Lynn.
  16. Isn't that when the rumors were flying that Whaley wanted him benched for Miami? However, the 46 was Rex's call.
  17. The article I linked to in post 42 has the full story. That's the very last line you've highlighted. One tough SOB.
  18. If you haven't seen the Casserly interview link, check it out.
  19. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2011/12/jets_anthony_lynn_chiefs_todd_haley_share_a_friendship_shaped_through_football_and_one_painful_night.html If people haven't read this, more important insight on Lynn. A guy I'd like to know personally.
  20. Between Kujo, Henderson, and Glenn, they need to figure out how to get the RT position taken care of.
  21. Yeah, I posted something worse in the other thread where 26 posted it.
  22. hear! hear!
  23. This was posted by 26 under the 12/28 Lynn presser topic, and I'm surprised it hasn't generated discussion--maybe people missed it? Casserly was with the Jets when Lynn interviewed for their HC job and makes some good points about Lynn as a HC candidate for the Bills. Casserly on Lynn
  24. Maybe "critical" was too strong. He acknowledged that Taylor misses things and seems to be reluctant to throw in the middle, then added what you state. Sounded excited to work with him on improving this area in the off-season. He made it sound correctable with work, where some here think it's a fatal flaw that can't be corrected.
