Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - post game thread
Augie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don’t want to do anything that would slow him down at all, because, well…….ya know. 😊 I hope one day Keon is mentioned in the same sentence with Jerry Rice when people point out that the 40 time ain’t everything. I will now go back to trying to temper my enthusiasm. -
Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - post game thread
Augie replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t like to get ahead of things, but I love what he offers and it just seems to get better every week. The “almost catch” last week and the TD yesterday are the kind of things not every WR offers. He’s fun to watch and he has an unusual skillset. -
It depends on which Bills team shows up, of course.

It’s funny, but for some reason the menu rarely mentions their “controlled rotting” process. 🤷♂️

We’re trying to tone down Josh’s Gun Slinger mentality. Getting your sushi fix in Seattle is like taking the check down. 😊

Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - 1st half game thread

That was so SLOW!!!! -
I thought that because of the non-contact aspect, but he kept calling for the ball. The guy WANTS THE BALL! 😂 My son watched Tom Brady walk off after tearing his ACL. He said “That is NOT the same injury I had!” They’re all different, let’s wait and see. I wish him well. .

Rather than lose my mind, I have evolved in how I enjoy the Bills. If you offered me a Super Bowl victory this season followed by 17 years of drought era football, I would pass. I am not in the “one before I die” club. I enjoy a team that is competitive and a threat to win every year, so I’m hesitant when I hear calls for “all-in” moves. We swung for the fences with Von and got burned. You can only do that so many times. I still get upset, but I’m fully aware it’s entertainment and I try not to let any one game foul my mood. I have the people here to do that for me! 😂

Tua’s Broken Dome (now being placed on IR-out at least 4 games)
Augie replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just flipped over to YouTube TV and checked out the menu of games available. I have to admit, there is a morbid sense of curiosity that caused me to check out the Dolphin game first. Tua was 5/6 and a TD on the first drive. Oh, and he survived…..so far. It’s like a car wreck, it’s hard to turn away. I’m sure the NFL will appreciate the eyes this draws for improved ratings. After all, they are all about the money. Now, we just need to get Taylor Swift to a Dolphin game (before he gets hurt again) to see if we can make some rating magic! -
We went to Clearwater FL for a little weekend getaway. After a long day in the hot sun we had to wait in the bar for a spot at a communal dining table. We were drunk and wearing foam hats shaped like antlers and all kinds of crazy stuff. A guy and his wife join us at the table. He’s in town for the bull ***** convention. This led to numerous questions about how the ***** is collected and if you have a favorite bull, that kind of thing. We are in tears! Before long a young couple on their Honeymoon joins us at the table. I’m quick with “Hi! I’m Augie and this is my wife. We are bankers. This is Bill and Mary. Ask him what he does for a living!” 😂 It turns out the bride has a thing for cows and is wearing some cow themed jewelry. We were just getting started! After dinner we went to a comedy show, but we laughed much harder at dinner. .

A TFL is rarely violent. Taking on a TE flying up the seam is different. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy! But I’m going to be realistic as well. I’d take a look if he’s free next season. That’s about all I’d commit to.

His instincts playing CB and stopping WR’s is commendable. His tackling is not. It takes more than beefing up, it takes “want to”.
-
He was notoriously slow to get back into form after the ACL. It may be the same with the Achilles and he may eventually find his form before he ages out. He’ll never be the guy he used to be, but anything reasonably close is someone I’d take a good look at.
-
It’s not worth it. He just likes to type sleepwalk, I think. Apparently we don’t sleepwalk as much as most professional teams. .
-
Tre is not known for his rapid healing. He’ll be 30 next year, and he’s already made close to $100 Mil. If he’s a FA and willing to sign cheap, I’d see what he looks like next season. I wonder how much of his slow recovery from the ACL was physical vs mental, and it the Achilles might be a similar recovery path.

Who Doesn't Get Anxiety When Flying Coach?
Augie replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Off the Wall
Well, I’d rather have a dog than snakes, but I think that only happens in cinematic classics. -
Do you have some room on a couch?

If Brian Daboll gets fired, would you take him as OC?
Augie replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall
I never do PPV, but I’d pay a bit to see Daboll in a cage match with McD! Working together again probably wouldn’t be as much fun, but could be interesting. -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
Augie replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
As a substitute, they will let a bag of squirrels loose for the opener. EDIT: I’m guessing that might turn into a nice chili in one of the lots. . -
I give him all the credit in the world for realizing, if maybe too late, that answering Aunt Edna or anyone else in the family was NOT going to have a good outcome. I want to know what his REAL answer was!

Sfefanski handing over play calling duites to Dorsey this week

I wonder if he’s sold his house yet? 😊 -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

….until it turns into 3 bill…. Has anyone ever come in on budget with one of these things? -
It reminds me of Spencer Brown doing his thing about not being able to see the little DB from up where he lives at 6’9”. I can’t see you! I thought that was funny. Not quite Tre with the play sheets that blew on the field, but funny.

He’s easy to overlook.

I think the problem is the term “sleepwalking”. What is the exact definition of that word in the context of an NFL player. The way I see the word, if you sleepwalk on an NFL field, you could die. Sleepwalking to me implies in part lack of effort, and that is not happening. Do we have some lapses in concentration? Unfortunately, yes. Are we slow to adjust schemes? It can seem that way at times. Do we start too conservative? A bit too much for my taste. Sleepwalking is a lazy term that tries to roll everything together, with a negative spin, imo.
