  1. That was my territory as a kid. I left for college when I was 17, so we only had a couple years with friends who could drive. The Creekview/Creekside (whatever it is under these owners) was a regular stop with my parents. That’s a nice little stretch of Main Street and I usually stay at the Hampton Inn which is easy walking to any of it. The Glen Park Tavern must have come after my years, but when I met my only childhood friend still living in Buffalo (Williamsville, actually) that’s where he took me. I really enjoyed it. A guy who has lived within 5 miles of those options for most of his 60+ years chose the Glen Park Tavern. That says something.
  2. That is not a “problem”, it is a “challenge”. There’s a difference! I feel your pain, there are not enough meal slots to do it all in just a few days. I was always a Bocce’s guy, but I’ve been gone a long time and I’m not sure if that is just nostalgia or truly the best option. Enjoy that trip and I hope you hit a home run at every meal. EDIT: If you go to Schwabl’s for beef on weck (which I HIGHLY recommend!) I would suggest the German potato salad. I had forgotten how delicious that is! I went there straight from the airport on one trip because it’s nearby and AMAZING! .
  3. We had some buddies up the street who had a pileated woodpecker who had pecked a hole in the siding of their house and was living in the attic. They covered up the hole, and he just pecked another one next to it and was still living in the attic. They gave up trying to get rid of him (it was a rental) and named him Woody. They asked “do you want to go upstairs and see Woody?”, and sure enough, there he was in the attic staring right back at us. In retelling this years later to a friend, I got to “do you want to go upstairs to see Woody” and our friend turned to her college age daughter without missing a beat and said “just so you know, the correct answer to that is always NO!” 😂 .
  4. You can just start charging that lonely old lady by the minute for time in the office. You can work this out! Her office time is less necessary than your car getting there. I kid! Most people there probably call that a toss up!
  5. That is almost what it was, amazingly. I hope the ride doesn’t get too rough. The piper always gets paid.
  6. I have no idea what you posted, but I’ll stick up for @JoeF a bit. He responded to me, and I am a little disappointed with all the unfounded speculating. Even the doctors here have no idea. Why throw out all our crazy ideas? WE DO NOT KNOW. If it was my family member, or yours, I’d respect the request for privacy, not just throw out wild ideas and just hope for the best. I’ll check in here frequently, but hoping for good news rather than some wild guess. I’ll probably just have to agree to disagree with many people here on this. .
  7. Some things never change.
  8. For the record, I agreed to “Get well, dear Kim”, not that you are just an old fart and what the hell do you know. ….as far as you know.
  9. He’s going to be a little more twitchy wearing Jerry’s number, so that’s good. The bad part is people will be allowed to hold him. 🤷‍♂️
  10. All the speculation annoys me, I must admit. It’s almost like some people would like to start a poll, and if you guess Guiilame Barre Syndrome correctly you get longer odds. We don’t know, but let’s just hope for the best. I’ll leave it at that. Let’s hope for the best today’s medical care allows, and prayers to the family. .
  11. I guess it’s more worthy than what he had for lunch. Hope he’s OK.
  12. EAT YOUR VEGETABLES!!!
  13. The AFC is a gauntlet. The next team up is the top opponent. Every week. Did we learn nothing from the Jags game last year?
  14. I remember back around 2008 when Citi was selling at about 50 cents/share. I absolutely KNEW that was a buy, even with the risk they might be one to fail. I checked recently, and every $10k put into Citi then was over a million now. I KNEW IT! While I knew there was great risk, at least it was something real. It was a business that hired people and provided services to people and companies. Crypto is fairy dust investing, IMO. I’ll gamble with real stuff that provides a product or service. But hey, that’s just me.
  15. As a junior in college in 1980 we won the intramural flag football championship at Xavier University, the Harvard of the Midwest. I caught the winning PAT. I knew it was big at the time, and I fully expected a 30 for 30 on ESPN by now. Ugh….just one more complaint against ESPN! 🤷‍♂️
  16. Yep. One game shouldn’t get anyone in the HOF. If that was the case Gabe Davis is a lock. But he’s not. It’s about a career. Boswell had the talent, for sure, but I’m not sure the injuries didn’t shorten his time to make him borderline, at best. It happens.
  17. Suicide Hotline, please hold.
  18. Those 3 are not on the playlist tonight. Just like Van Morrison playing his good but most obscure music a couple months ago.
  19. It is BRUTAL right now. And that’s from someone who likes summer. We were supposed to see Steely Dan at Chastain Park Amphitheater tonight, but the wife is in NYC so tix went to friends. Wife currently trying to get earlier flight, but we will NOT be asking for the tix back and the right to sit outside in this heat. As for this thread, sure, I’d love the uproar that would come with a first round running back! That’s always entertaining to consider! The outrage is hysterical!
  20. I get that it’s only natural to want to know what’s going on, but the only real thing we can do is offer prayers and respect their privacy as requested. Praying for a quick and full recovery.
  21. If Rex were an owner, it would probably look a lot like this.
  22. OK, I’ve had a couple drinks and you almost have me talked into it.
  23. I think that’s only because you are still waiting for Tua’s ball to arrive. .
  24. Do you think we might have a chance to give up on him more than once? That would be AWESOME! 😋
  25. Everyone is also entitled to their own opinions, no matter how emotional, ridiculous and utterly irrational they may be. Goodness! It’s the best process that exists, I believe. It won’t always be perfect, but I don’t see a better option. Making any kind of decisions before the process runs it’s course is pure foolishness and undermines our entire legal system. Treat everyone fairly and equally. Period. Then let the chips fall where they may, and pray you got it right. .
