We did the Eagles Hotel California show recently, then saw Eric Clapton, which was great. We have Steely Dan coming up at the Chastain Park Amphitheater in ATL - great venue! Then we have Van Morrison which may be the act I would most want to see. We might have Rod Stewart and some others (maybe Chicago?) coming up, but things got moved around or canceled so much with Covid I’m not really sure. Side note: We saw Steely Dan at the same amphitheater a few years ago on a warm summer night. We took our son, then in his early 20’s. We asked him what he thought and he said “it’s like elevator music without air conditioning.” Kids! What is this world coming to???

There is something about the NYC energy and Christmas that, when combined, is absolutely magical. I highly recommend it. In fact, I hope to join the wife there this December. Even just a few days is plenty to get in the spirit.

…..and you got this scenario where, exactly? Did it come to you in a dream? Where you at a secretive high level business meeting to which the rest of us where not invited? Or, was it on the internet somewhere? Because if it was, it must be true! As for a ‘69 Chevelle, that would be very cool. My first car was a Chevette, which was MUCH less cool.

A turned ankle in the last minute may have decided this. Ugh…. At least it isn’t Duke winning it all.

I’m having a hard time reconciling the bold. I’m glad you’re not my parent! He’s very near the top of the league, and he gets some bonus points in my mind for culture stuff that goes beyond game days. .

Do you think they might throw in a 5th rounder to sweeten the pot? 🤷♂️

I would stroke the table gently if Beane thinks it’s the thing to do depending upon their board and how the draft falls. We need to start taking it easy on tables. I still expect a FA CB to be signed before the draft, because that’s how they roll.

Not being a Rochester guy, I don’t know about Zeb’s/Zab’s. I do remember that in addition to Ted’s there was a Pat’s we would hit from time to time. Apparently seasonal so just vague memories. I do not remember Louie’s Foot Long Hot Dogs, but that may have been the birthplace of the foot long. There was a Ted’s knock off here in Atlanta complete with loganberry and “Crystal Beach” fries until a few years ago. Sad day when they closed. 😪 https://buffalonews.com/news/food-legend-enjoys-being-link-to-past/article_d38c520c-5bf1-53d0-9afd-7843746d7895.html

Let’s give Antonio Brown some Million Dollar love.

I believe he is here to serve your long offseason needs. You would send flowers, if you were a true gentleman. -

Because, I think….his act only makes it rain at strip clubs? Important rule in big money stakes: BE NOT CRAZY! -
An Idea for a potential Bills draft trade down with Atlanta!
Augie replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
The FALCONS first rounder? That could bring a king’s ransom! They are not that stupid. I think, but never hurts to ask someone “are you that stupid?” OK, that might actually get you hurt, I admit. -
I’m just trying to point out a fair and balanced picture of the arrangement. Some people resent rich folks. I don’t dislike people for being rich. In fact, I’d LOVE to actually BE rich one day! I may not like you for your actions, but that goes for rich OR poor. I’m saying they have taken FAR more financial risk than the deal appears when sketched out on paper in today’s dollars. I’m trying to be fair to them about their potential exposure. .

AND, they face the greatest risk from the unforeseen. It’s like everyone else has a fixed rate mortgage, while the Pegula’s get an ARM in a volatile market, but with virtually ZERO chance of rates going down. That risk is VERY significant.

As I said, I don’t think we can afford him, but we all know there are ways to make space by kicking the can down the road. I don’t even claim to have an idea when it comes to the cap and what the best path might be. That is where I have to trust in Beane, and while not perfect, he has earned my trust.
-
Apparently he still plays football too. Who knew? 🤷♂️ I don’t think we can afford him, but he makes the team better, so I’m in. I didn’t like some of his actions while he was here, but I want the Bills to win a Super Bowl. I can get over it.

Will it confuse anyone if they trade owners with Miami? Or Cleveland?

Fortunately, it’s come down 40-50 cents around here. The closest station to me was at $4.69 while stations a mile away in any direction were at $3.99. People were still filling up with the expensive stuff all day long! Do they pay ZERO attention? I’m not cheap, but I’m not STUPID either!

Vegas over/under wins; Bills 11.5 - How do we get to 12?
Augie replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not unpopular with me! I have an internal body clock that expects a Bills game at 1:00pm every Sunday. Anything else messes me up a bit. As for how we win more, just avoid the stinkers like the Jags game and fix the OL so Josh doesn’t have to be our main running threat. I’m happy to have Kromer coming in. As for how we get Vegas to change the line, just pour your money into the other side! They are an equal opportunity enterprise! The only favorite they play is CA$H! -

Does he wear that same hat under his helmet? He never seems to take it off! I bet him wearing the same hat could pay more than some of us make all year! -
The wife uses Uber or taxis to get around. I joined her on a trip right before Covid and we were heading from the Four Seasons in the financial district up the the theater district for dinner and to see To Kill a Mocking Bird (which was awesome, BTW, and our puppy is named Scout!). We decided to take the subway, and we had absolutely no idea what we were doing! I wish there was a video of that! It was so hysterical some kid had to come to our rescue! The November after 9/11 we took the kids and stayed in Time Square. You forget how much was unknown at the time, and we considered canceling but went anyway. Ground Zero was incredibly moving. Like you, when the family went down I went out of the hotel and made a right, then another right. About a block later I found a little nothing looking hole in the wall place. Nothing fancy, but I turned in and it had that NYC energy to it. They had one of those real “professional bartenders” who you know had been there forever. I sat at the bar and had what was probably the best steak of my life. Decades later I look mack and that and it blew me away. I wonder how much of that was the steak, and how much was the setting and the energy. Speaking of 9/11, about a month later a new kid showed up to try out for our son’s travel soccer team in Florida. (How do you get good at soccer in Manhattan?) His dad worked in the WTC, but was working from home that day. His mom had been inside 20 minutes before the first plane hit. The dad watched from their home as almost everyone he worked with died. They moved out of NYC and never looked back. It was a VERY difficult topic for them, as you would imagine.
