My son just turned 30. He moved up to Atlanta near us and and 2-3 years ago he had to got to a sports doc for lingering results of a stinger his senior year in HS. He finished the season thanks to a “friendly” neurosurgeon who made house calls. My son’s platonic female friend tipped the decision with “but Dad, it’s Senior Night!” He did not pursue recruiter interest from smaller schools. We had them play every other sport until High School. They got stronger, improved their feet, endurance and hand eye coordination. The best athletes can just start doing it, and at a high level. Ask Tony Gonzales.

I got a call this afternoon from the Dolphins asking if I was available this weekend as backup QB. Don’t hate me, but it’s a huge payday for this guy. I got some stretching to do! .

Yep, it can get complicated and personal. Imagine you are right on the edge of getting that big bonus for games started, yards gained, tackles or who knows what. That can get into BIG BUCKS for some guys, and very significant money to all. Now, what if half the guys want to play, and half don’t? Or a large majority don’t want to play but you do, for bonus or just a different opinion? Could be touchy. The good thing is, this is a close group of guys and I don’t see this making big waves. Maybe for some teams, but not this team. And I don’t question that they will play. That’s what they do. I just hope they can be sharp.

Damar would want them to play, and Damar would want them to play well and win.

I’d go with (Carlton) Bailey. The four of us voted three dogs ago and her name was Bailey. Three votes wasn’t enough. This is when we learned the wife has veto power. A redhead girl named Bailey vomited in my MIL’s car when my wife was a kid. They could not get the smell out, so they traded the car in. Bonus points for the first person to post the Seinfeld episode. .

I think they should get a minute of fame at the Super Bowl recognizing them and all their counterparts around the league. I seriously think it’s well deserved. And if they happen to get seats to see the Bills win the SB……..😋 .

Praying they get to keep watching? That’s what I’d be doing. I was a bit surprised to hear Cowherd today say “let’s pray”, and I’m pleasantly shocked to see this.

I’ll never watch the replay of that game, but I just might go back and appreciate how well they did in such a terrible situation on the fly. I thought it was remarkable.

Even Kevin Bacon played in a couple preseason games for the Chargers. Maybe….. 😋 It’s very clear how tight knit the league is in general, and the Bills in particular. I’ll give ESPN credit (something I very rarely feel the need to do). They limited the replays and zoomed out rather than zoomed in. Nobody needed to see any more than the players reactions to know how serious it was. It was awkward to fill air the time initially, and that’s understandable. Scott Van Pelt and the Ryan Clark did a VERY commendable job coming on hours early and rallied under difficult circumstances. .

It would almost feel odd if the opponent did NOT score on the first drive. We adjust and get it together eventually in almost every game. We can’t take anything significant from what we saw last night.
