The last couple years have been crazy. Restaurants either closed or opening at 50% capacity for lack of staff. I met a “Temp Manager” at a Ritz in California. He lived at the Ritz and had a 90 day contract to manage dining floors. They put up signs saying “be kind to the people who bothered to show up to serve you”. I have a few regular places with regular people, and you learn to appreciate that. A lot. But we want what we want for a meal, and we want it right. It’s not too much to ask.

He is incredibly quick and shifty. He might not outrace you for 60 yards, but he can make guys miss in the hole. The guys who can do both are rare and special.

I was just saying the drop rate may have been a little misleading due to a small sample size. I think he can be very dangerous in time, and that time may be starting now.

Not arguing at all, but out of how many targets? I don’t think Cook has a sample size large enough to judge yet. Just let it slow down for him and I hope he can become an important part of the offense, as you’d hope for a 2nd round pick.

Not to stray too far, but what is the deal with Cook? I’ve heard he made a sour face when the Bills drafted him, and he’s maybe not a great practice player. Is there an attitude problem? I expected him to be brought along slowly to avoid putting Josh in danger, But I did expect a little more by now. (Though he seems to be progressing now.) Maybe my expectations were unreasonable? Has he been a good soldier and done all the right things? Is there something to this, or am I making too much out of idle speculation? I guess you need to look behind the scenes to know. 🤷‍♂️ The trade deadline ended before Irsay could hit happy hour. Just bad timing.

I hope to enjoy the Super Bowl more than the last two rounds of the draft!

There are two sets of costs here. Trading away a first rounder for a guy who has or needs a big contract kills you in the draft AND on the cap. At least it’s a premium position. They did the same with T. Hill and get away with it because Tua is on a cheap deal, but I’m not sure Tua is the answer. He is not as big or athletic as he thinks, and he’s fragile.

Yes, he has disappeared at times, but we need to look past that when he was playing on a bad ankle. I’m glad he did what he could, even if it was mostly as a decoy. It’s hard to play WR in the NFL with a bad wheel. The guy makes plays. And complaining about him is mostly nitpicking, indeed. Life isn’t perfect.

Clearly his own fault for having abdominal muscles in the first place. I’m feeling pretty safe here in my recliner.

Wife left at 4am to catch a flight, and I didn’t get candy. Oops! All the lights are out on the front of the house. I’m hiding in back and not a single visitor yet.

Even Josh didn’t have his best game. It happens. I’m not overreacting, I’m taking the long view. I like what I see. It will never be perfect, but I like it a lot.
