I’d like to take a brief moment to thank Yolo for getting his first name correct in the title. This is the kind of fine service to which we have become accustomed. I’d have put the likelihood of getting it right from the rest of this crowd closer to 50%. I’m going with the Great White, if it’s a home game!

Yeah, it seems he has yet to be punished a single game by the league. Zip! Nada! He got paid not to play in the tire fire that is Houston at this point in time. He missed games only because he and the Texans agreed to do it that way. The league punishment is still to come, and I’m afraid it won’t be enough.

Few people are aware that Bill B. Majored in alchemy in college during the Middle Ages. I hope he retires soon as HC, but stays on as GM until the end of time.

My Man, Chandler81 RIP (Bobby, not me. Don’t get your hopes up)

Without twitter some things slipped thru the cracks. Yolo is only human! . Gabe Davis is an astute historian! -
This is the legendary work of Bill Belichick, GM. We have a love/hate relationship.

The two main instigators in the pitchfork parade seem to have disappeared. Finally.

I will be sure to make some turf available, for sure. It will come with a very nicely forged Certificate of Authenticity. Framed with a pretty font and everything! It’s not really practical, since you are on the west coast, but otherwise I’d have suggested we go halves on the wrecking ball when they are done. That thing will have touched all the important spots!

Steelers stadium will now be called Acrisure Stadium

It’s catchy for sure, but I think I’ll just call it The Ralph II. I can never keep those top women’s tennis players straight, and this doesn’t help! . -
Fan ideas on how to improve the NFL -- Peter King's latest FMIA column
Augie replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know the NFL will do what’s best for the NFL. That is a given. Having said that, I am far more concerned about the 100 million people watching a Super Bowl on TV (the “regular people”) than I am about the host city (who really would not be harmed) or the tens of thousands of people who are fortunate enough to attend. This is mostly a corporate event live, and increasingly attended by the titans of industry. They don’t have to grovel to get an extra day off. I was lucky enough to go to a Super Bowl, and I can tell you it would have made ZERO difference to me had it taken place on a Saturday. ZERO. I just would have adjusted my dates and arrived a day earlier and used Sunday as my travel home day, thereby not missing work the next week. Just come in a day or two earlier. All the same parties would still have taken place, the bars and restaurant filled just a day earlier. I don’t expect this to happen in my lifetime because they have figured out how to make the most money possible, and I don’t see that as ever being anything but priority #1. Still, in so many ways it makes so much sense. -

Yeah, but that’s when the fun begins for the winning city! There is rioting and looting to be done, and of course those couches are not going to burn themselves on the sidewalks! It’s a late night, for sure. -
Per Dan Patrick, 71 of the last 76 Major finals has had at least one of these guys in it. That’s incredible!

Love Rafa as well, and him adding one while taking one away from Djokovic would have felt good. Oh well, I can live with wide right, so I can live with this. We love our sports, and sports are just entertainment. I just hope Rafa is 100% and gets the US Open.

I assume you are aware of his well documented history with mental health and addiction issues. I respectfully won’t dismiss that with a with a 10 cent head description. https://www.eurosport.com/tennis/andy-murray-expressed-concern-after-noticing-evidence-of-self-harm-on-nick-kyrgios-body-says-austral_sto9029425/story.shtml He certainly makes me wonder, but I’m proud of him for a great tournament. He has the game to beat Djokovic, he just need that 6 inches between his ears to get in line. .

I’m not sure if he’s “officially” retired, but if not he’s just loitering on the 18th green. He’s my all-time favorite. We used to go to Miami for the Sony/Lipton/Erickson/Miami Open. Just minutes and about 20 feet after watching Serena and family act like complete trash on a practice court (cussing like a sailor at her hitting partner and crushing racquets left and right, all while dad strode around scowling at the crowd - all with the fence lined with 5 year old kids), Roger walked by laughing and smiling with dozens of little kids in tow. He was rubbing their floppy hair and they were all having a great time. I know greatness often comes with an edge, but the contrast that day amazed me. Roger is my #1 all-time. I really like Nadal, and part of that is how he called out Djokovic when he said Federer was no big deal. At the time Roger had a serious lead in Majors, like 12-0 over Djokovic, and Rafa said something to point that out. In order, I think my favorites are Federer, Nadal and Sampras as a close #3. I respect his tennis, but the Joker is not I’m my top 10. He’s the Aaron Rodgers of tennis, a self centered prima donna who has learned to put up a better face, but it’s still not genuine, IMO.

Not so fast, don’t forget Federer, my personal favorite after having run into him at a tournament in Miami. He has 20 Majors, and he’s a great guy by all accounts. What surprises me the most is Serena, arguably the most dominant athlete of all time in any sport, “only” has 23 Majors, one more than Rafa. That doesn’t seem right! It seems she wins every other one!
-
Terrible shame, as I root for Rafa as hard as I root against Djokovic. I admit the Joker has carried himself better in recent years, but he’s still the same self-centered guy I never loved. As for Kyrgios, I have no idea what his mental state is, so I can’t judge. I don’t know what’s going on with his rantings on the court, or with the reported addiction issues. I wish him well and admit he’s surprisingly engaging and likable in the right situation. I hope he finds his way and can make the most of his God given talent and, more importantly, his life.

Just his mom. Who recognizes Tommy Doyle in a Bills uniform with his name on the back? I might get that one right.
-
Nor do I, so far. But I know they can afford all the balls they need. I think the most interesting thing about the USFL so far, at least to me, is waiting to see what and how the NFL adopts some of their innovations.
-
Maybe he forgets the USFL has more than one ball too?
-
I’ve never seen more than a couple minutes of USFL, but I remembered that being talked about and it made sense to me. I mean, they have the technology, so why not? A lot of guessing taking place with the current system, especially with a typical 3rd and short up the middle inside the scrum. I have no idea where the ball actually is!
-
Didn’t the USFL just do the same thing? I suspect that is one of the first things they steal from the USFL.
