  1. It really killed momentum and sent a faulty message. If we can't get 5 yards when down 17 forget it anyway. We weren't going to piecemeal get back into that game with FGs. We had 4 plays to get a FD and a TD and gave up...not to mention the weather, wind and length.
  2. Not looking to get into a pandemic, vaccination, politics fight as the mods have said. But, just try to put yourselves in McDermott shoes and not just your own. His job is to be an NFL coach and win games. He obviously believes that getting vaccinated helps, as the NFL does. He sees no problem with that line of thinking, as most NFL coaches likely do. He believes in team and sacrifice, and wants his players available. They're not available and he's pissed.
  3. He's pissed and rightfully so. He believes in team and making sacrifices. Uh there is a difference, a vaccine.
  4. Interesting, I just read that the 17 snaps Basham and Rousseau were on the field together at end were by far the best for the Bills vs. the run at 3.5/YPA. Getting Star back with Oliver will help and paired with the rookies. The others remain liabilities against the run.
  5. Hard to argue, all true. I'm looking at the schedule and seeing 4 games against (NO, 2xNE &TB) that we need to get at least a win in one + win the three we should win (CAR,ATL,NYJ). 10-7 will get us the 7th seed. If we don't do the above, the playoffs could be difficult to make at 9-8, (CIN,PIT&CLE) become contenders then. I figure 6 teams KC,NE,LAC,TEN,BAL and now INDY will get 10+ wins or a tiebreaker on us at 9. Better win one of those 4 against tough, physical teams.
  6. Under center, use more bunch formations and motion early in the game to counter the slot run blitzes and attempt to run the ball more. Use Brieda and bench Moss until proven otherwise. Focus more on boots and short passes. Feed Diggs, Knox and Beasley. Get our line healthy with Brown back in, and don't get tricked into thinking we can just attempt chunk passing our way down the field. It may work against some teams, but not the good ones. Unfortunately, we cannot solve our lack of physical presence in season. We can change the mentality some though and that is what the above does.
  7. Agree. There seems to be a philosophical divide, McD in his press conferences doesn't seem to sound like Daboll coaches. He believes the NFL requires you to attempt to stay balanced. Daboll's actions would tell us he believes it's still 2-3 years ago still, and when balance was a much reduced requirement for offenses.
  8. I think that is too narrow a view, yesterday that is. Execution was not the best that is correct. However, the problem is bigger than that. We've now scored 13 pts in 6 quarters against Jax and Indy, 2 of the worst pass defenses in NFL. We looked good against the Jets because they couldn't play physical enough up front against us. The problem all year is we get beat up front by physical fronts and Daboll makes us one -dimensional too often. Teams don't respect that we will run the ball and just attack the spot where Allen is and cover.
  9. You can beat us physically. We make ourselves one-dimensional, the opponent knows Allen will be standing 5 yards behind center every play, go get him.
  10. Problem 1: The Saints are a physical team just like the Colts- scary Problem 2: we make ourselves one-dimensional, therefore the Saints can plan on Allen being 5 yards behind the line, in the same spot every play.
  11. The book is out on the Bills, and it's not complicated because solving in season is tough. 1. You can out physical them. 2. You don't have to make them one-dimensional, they'll do it to themselves.
  12. The Bills philosophy as dictated by McDermott is to stick with the game plan and not make adjustments. This is very contrary to Belichick for example who is know for always making adjustments. IMO this is a shortcoming and hurts us is some games.
  13. Tin foil hat people! If only Tre White weren't so overrated we win today.
  14. We're not big and physical enough, no more analysis needed.
  15. They needed to convert that 4th and 5. Oh wait lets kill the momentum
  16. Not getting back in this game kicking FGs- I'm sorry.
  17. Playing for FG is stupid, we're not playing for a tie and that assumes the Colts don't score anymore.
  18. Offense can move the ball and score. Can the defense step up?
  19. Say what you want about the interception. But, this is 100% on the defense and special teams.
  20. I like 'em with a little meat on their bones, healthy and athletic.
  21. They actually remind me of BB teams in Cleveland pre-Brady. He had a pretty good team in '94 (Vinny Testaverde QB) that went 11-5, but lost to the Steelers 3x. Methodical, boring, shorten the game by running, physical D, don't make mistakes, have a good kicking game. It's actually his preferred style and many in the media seem to be pushing it as well (Charlie Weis). Belichick's win totals without Brady per season 6,7,7,11(the above mentioned),5,5,7(last year), 7 this year, on pace for 10 or 11. See a pattern? Every fourth year. I was just trying to remember if anyone has won the SB playing this style in recent years? You know Vince Lombardi, Bill Parcells style. Looking at the list of SB Winners it doesn't seem like it happens very much to me anymore.
  22. Jeez what is going on with all the hype (for him and the Pats) its over the top
