  1. Agreed that would be much better. I have a friend who has officiated many sports for years. He believes that simplification and acceptance that some judgement is necessary and the only way out of the mess. He calls the NFL a reactionary league, add a rule or subsection to a rule and voila problem solved.
  2. IMHO it's more of a rules problem. Chasing the infamous "get it right" holy grail will never happen. Some believe we need to make all rules completely objective, that's not the answer because its impossible. If you must have replay, then limit it to scoring plays. Allow and live with fact that officiating involves judgement. Do you really want them to make a marginal call that had no bearing, and was 50 yards away?
  3. Looking out his ear hole on the way off the field!
  4. Could probably tell the Dolphins what you're going to run in advance and it wouldn't matter.
  5. I think that is entirely correct!
  6. What's not to like? Torn ACL last year? Lifelong Arsenal fan?
  7. Fair enough. I believe that an All Pro coming off an injury is much more likely to produce than the 3rd rounder, as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure an analysis of the numbers would show this as well. Anyway, we differ on this one, I think we are closer than you think.
  8. Serious question, who has a better chance of producing the rest of the season and in the future, A.J. Green or that 3rd round pick?
  9. The D would be elite!
  10. Or they could lose to the Skins and look worse.
  11. Also, I question when I hear some say he had 57 rec for 652 yds and 7 tds in 2018, and that was good production. The numbers themselves look ok, but on a bad team the numbers have top go somewhere by default. It doesn't make them a good player. I mean a crappy hockey team has 20 goal scorers too, that doesn't mean they're good, it means opportunity by default.
  12. The guy suffered from not only his lack of confidence, but the lack of confidence of his teammates and coaches. At some level, you can't only make catches that are in your "sweet spot" (in his case it was a very small one). If there is a choice in a key moment the QB is going to the guy he can count on.
  13. No, won't be full until we acquire a top notch playmaker later in the month.
  14. Got fired from my summer painting job in college, not because of my work. It was because I recommended a buddy of mine for a job on the painting team. He turned out to be a real screwup as a painter.
  15. IMHO Josh Allen is ready to take the next step, and I worry that we don't have enough high level playmakers to make that happen. John Brown is getting covered over the top by a safety, until we can take the top off the D the windows are going to get tighter. Now if <insert name> were our number 1 and the Bills now have Brown , Beasley, Knox, Foster, Duke, McKenzie things get more interesting. I'm in favor of going all in if we can a playmaker who is a difference maker.
  16. I don't get the D+ grade and him being our worst player on Sunday. SMH
  17. Is anyone else surprised that Jordan Poyer was one of our worst players C? I didn't see it.
  18. Does Joe B. know what he's doing? Nothing implied about his grades. Asking for a friend.
  19. Oh boy, maybe we'll get treated to Gronk, Booger and Favre together in the booth someday!
  20. I don't think this can be overstated, this offense looks more wide open and much tougher to defend when this is the case. This team could be really tough on offense with this type of receiver.
  21. Simply put, fantasy football, we now have a crowd that roots for numbers and as you say equates it with being elite. The problem of course being context or lack of attention to the context by many.
  22. I feel the same as you do. IMHO these folks root for the model to be correct. Silly me, but they should be finding a way to utilize all the information. And, allow for the fact that there are variables that are just plain random or are hard, if not impossible, to account for. By all accounts, JA appears to have characteristics of a leader in spades, while inexperienced, his teammates and coaches want to play/work for him. Oh and BTW, the dude has some pretty good talent at his disposal. It's still early in his career, but I'm happy to say we took the correct Josh.
