  1. Booyah! Totally stoked for next week. The Ralph will be rockin'... Let's go 2 in a row!
  2. Yep. Totally agree. And did you notice later in the game when they tackled CJ Spiller out of bounds there were no flags thrown? That tackle on CJ was a legit time to call the personal foul. But hey.....the Bills proved they can beat a great team on the road even when the calls don't go their way...Outstanding win...
  3. The Bears fans have to feel humiliated after that game. Nobody expected the Bills to win. I only saw one person in national media pick the Bills to win this game. NFL Gameday morning - Shaun O'Hara - Everyone else I saw picked the Bears.
  4. I thought there were a few non-calls that should have been calls. Didn't they rip the helmet off of Freddie Jackson on a play too? That should have been a horsecollar or facemask call. Take your pick. And there was helmet to helmet more than once. Spikes got away with one too though on a tackle. I thought the officiating was pretty bad. I'm so glad the Bills overcame it though. Truly a great win to be proud of.
  5. You do realize that those guys come here to get show content ideas because they are incapable of coming up with anything interesting on their own - right?
  6. I am stunned by the percentage of people who expect the Bills to pass on first down. Stunned. That is so unlike Hackett.
  7. It's un-American not to have cheerleaders at a football game. Down right un-American. To all you Nancy's who said you don't like the cheerleaders and don't want the Jills to come back, where do you guys get your nails done before the game? And what color panties do you wear to the game? And do you sip wine coolers while the real men in your group drink beer and whisky? Do you eat your friggin chicken wings with a knife and fork so you don't mess up your nails? Just kidding...geeze.....don't get so emotional....
  8. EJ turning into an above average quarterback I hope I hope I hope I hope.
  9. Spiller "C" Gap run = 3 yards - bet on it. predictable.
  10. I beg to differ. The Ravens only converted 3 third downs the entire game. 3/16 or 18% of 3rd downs. I guess they didn't convert a lot of those 3rd and longs that you remember. Flacco was sacked 4 times and threw 5 picks. Neither one of the Bill's leading backs had 100 yard game. Jackson = 87yds Spiller = 77yds Ej was 10/22 for 167 with 1 lost fumble and 2 picks That game was won by the defense by far. It's not even close. And to top it off, the defense got a their last interception on what could have been the game winning drive for Baltimore.
  11. Yes that Baltimore game. I believe the defense created something like 5 turnovers in that game. Without that massive lopsided turnover situation, the Bills easily lose that game in my opinion. Great pass rushes cause turnovers which is the thing I think a lot of fans overlook when comparing sacks vs. stopping the run.
  12. This is exactly what I would expect to happen. Face it. People who are still high on EJ are high on him because they analyze him deeply. They see certain things about him like being able to whip the ball a hundred miles an hour way down the field on a really hard throw. They see his physical attributes and are patient hoping the coaches can teach him to correct the things he is not doing well. That allows them to be more patient. They know that if the guy got it straightened out he could really be great, but it will take longer. Could be quite a while longer. The average fan just judges a QB based on whether the pass was complete or not. They give the QB too much credit and too much blame when things don't go right. Naturally then, many fans are going to think the quarterback must suck because the offense generally sucks. This is why the Bills should have never put themselves in a position where EJ would be starting last year. Now it is a huge risk. Either he performs a lot better right away or else fans are going to start revolting. Most fans are not patient. And I can't imagine why anyone would expect them to be.
  13. I would be pissed. But I would still go give the other "superior" team credit where credit is due. It is called sportsmanship. Brady couldn't do that because he went through that year thinking his crap didn't stink. Thankfully the Giants gave him and his team a dose of reality. The Giants were the better team that day. They deserved credit for the win. For all their arrogance throughout the season, the Patriots ended up getting out-played and out-coached. Love it.
  14. No doubt. That defense kept us in games that we otherwise had no business being in. Like for example the Baltimore game. Even when teams tried to hand us a win, like the Jets game in NY, the offense still struggled to do anything. I think I personally place more value in sacks and turnovers than I think other people do. I think sacks and turnovers are game changing plays that put your team in a position to win while also making for some extremely enjoyable football.
  15. Amen brother.... The year we do that is the year we can realistically compete for a championship. Still waiting....Show me the money....
  16. If she is right about EJ's external validation and self-esteem thing, then EJ is doomed as a quarterback. He needs to play somewhere where the fans don't give a crap about their team. Good luck finding that place. I don't know how they would keep him from getting exposed to the local negativity surrounding his play. It seems like an impossible task. Eventually the media will start trying harder to call him out on it. I think the whole concept of booing your team is not well understood by the Buffalo fan base in my opinion. I have always known that booing your team makes the team play even worse than they have. You are doing your opponent a huge favor by booing your team. A lot of this game, and every sport, is mental. This is part of the reason why it is supposed to be easier to win at home. You usually have the crowd on your side when you play at home. That is a distinct advantage that helps you steal momentum from your opponent. It also helps you kick your opponent mentally when he is already down on himself. Why would you want to kick your own team while they were already down on themselves?
  17. I mostly dislike him because he plays for a team in our division. The biggest knock against him is his inability to swallow his pride at times. Like the year they had a perfect season until losing the Superbowl to the New York Giants. Then he and Randy Moss skipped the pro bowl right after that. And they wouldn't give press conferences. He was so embarrassed that they lost that he couldn't man up and just go give the other team credit for whipping his ass. I think he is going to have a near "career best" year this year and the media will make a spectacle out of how a guy his age could be so good. It sucks to be in his division. It just sucks. At least we can tell the grand kids that we got to see him play in person a bunch of times at the Ralph. I think he plays for another 4 years. His game starts losing its shine ever so slightly next year.
  18. This is what I don't get about some fans. I don't know how you can watch bad football like that and come away with the notion that the quarterback looked good. Wasn't he 3 for 7 in that Detroit game? And he got sacked twice. I don't blame the sacks on him entirely, but he sure doesn't do much to avoid getting sacked. And anyway, even if you completely disregard the sacks and blame them entirely on the offensive line, still going 3 for 7 just plain sucks. And you can't blame the receivers this week. They were getting open. EJ needs to throw better passes. That is his fault entirely. He has to play better than that in order for the Bills to win any games this year even the more winnable games. If he plays an entire game like he played in Detroit, the Bills get blown out. It is hard to argue otherwise. Marrone says he is streaky. Let's see a hot streak for once. Could we? I sure hope his hot streak starts this Sunday.
  19. I'm a little worried about the defense in all honesty. I keep looking for rational thoughts why the pass defense will be as good as they were last year in terms of sacks and turnovers caused. I just can't get there. The personnel is good, but I don't know about the scheme. I keep remembering how bad the Bills defense sucked when we had Wanny and how much Pettine turned it around. I fear that we are going to really miss having Pettine on the staff. If the Bills don't get good pressure on Chicago, then I don't think they have a shot at winning. And my intuition tells me that Schwartz is nowhere near as aggressive as Pettine. I like aggressive defenses that attack. We had that last year. I don't expect we will have that this year. I have a strange suspicion that we will be better versus the run, maybe much better, but also worse versus the pass.
  20. Turnover battle ends up even – Bills throw 2 picks – Mario causes sack-fumble and Robey gets a clean pick. Unfortunately Chicago gets TD’s off their turnovers while the Bills can only muster field goals. Bills fans maddened by the lack of execution in the passing game and constant check downs. Bills Red Zone offense fails to show up and results in 4 field goals instead of touchdowns. Bills fans encouraged by EJ’s long touchdown pass. (only one of the game for him) Bears win with an unimpressive and sometimes ugly performance 24-19 Bills fans chalk this game up to be one that we could have won and should have one if only we could have executed a play here or play there.
  21. I predict that when the game is over Scott Chandler will have the most catches for the most yards in this game for the Bills. Woods will be #2 Your prediction?
  22. I thought one of the lessons in Football 101 was to bring heat on young quarterbacks until they prove they can beat you. Young quarterbacks usually give up more sacks and turnovers when blitzed. No? I think they would be foolish not to blitz right away and at least test whether it works or not.
  23. People who are saying they want to automatically give him the whole season are fooling themselves. If the guy comes out playing really bad football consistently week after week, Marrone is not going to give EJ the whole season. That would be career suicide. He will probably lose his job anyway if that happens, but it would be like having a thug pull a gun on you, then you say "hey wait a minute" and pull out a big knife to stab yourself to death with before he shoots you. It would be stupid. If EJ shows promise and looks like he is improving after a few games, then I think he will get the whole year and probably should get the whole year. But if he sucks out of the gate and keeps sucking, then no friggin way.
  24. I get your train of thought and I agree with it. I think people misunderstood what you are suggesting. I don't know if it is the most important in 10 years, but I do agree that it could potentially be a lot more important than people are thinking right now. If the team plays like an average NFL team then I don't think this game will be considered all that important win or lose. However, if the team either plays "lights out good" or "horrifically bad" then yes I agree that this game will be very important at shifting momentum and fan opinions either for or against the team and for or against EJ. The way the team presents itself on the field in this game will set the tone for what fans will expect the rest of the season or at least for the next few games.
  25. My worries: 1) Running game 2) Offensive Play Calling - Not taking the deep shots and stretching the field enough - which will additionally hinder the running game. 3) Pass rush - Will Schwartz be aggressive enough?
