I thought the same thing. Isn't it ironic that the guy who replaced Fitz just got his ass whipped head to head by Fitz? And isn't it ironic that the whiners who wanted Fitz out of here because of the 4th quarter last drive interceptions, just witnessed the replacement quarterback seal a defeat with a fourth quarter last possession interception? I hate that we lost this game, but losing to Fitzs team made it less painful for me. I might be the only person on this board who still wishes he was quarterback here, but I really do wish he was still here leading this team while the Bills searched for a more talented replacement. Fitz plays balls out and leaves everything he has out on the field. How can you not root for that...

You are wrong about this point. It is obvious that EJ is not an NFL caliber starting quarterback right now. He is just flat out NOT GOOD ENOUGH. We may never find out what his ultimate upside is...that much I will give you....but we don't know how many more games we would have to lose to see if EJ will ever get really good. You could see the entire season go down the tubes waiting for him to bounce back. EJ has been given chances. He isn't making the most of his chances. He had to know coming into this season that he would need to play better than this or else lose his job. His play sucked. He lost his job at least for the time being, probably longer.

I'm just glad they are done making excuses for EJ. He sucked bad. Now he sits on the bench and watches someone else play. This team is seriously screwed at quarterback. I hope like hell that Orton is surprisingly good. Not holding my breath though.

At least we get one thing we wished for this week. God this game is enjoyable. I am waiting for them to zoom in on Brady and catch him crying. Wahhhh! Waaahhhhhhhh!

Can I wait to answer this question until after we play New England and Detroit. Because if he doesn't find a way to get a pass rush against either of those teams then I will want to scream. Defense played decent in the first two games without needing many adjustments that I am aware of. However, in the last game it seemed like there were no real adjustments at half time even though they weren't getting the job done. That makes me question Schwartz's ability. I admit that during the game this passed sunday I was wondering how much more of a pass rush a Pettine defense would have generated.

Run defense looks better. But you don't stop teams like San Diego, Detroit and New England by stopping the run. I am scared to play New England and Detroit.

Sammy will be fine. He admitted it was a mistake. And he admitted that it was his fault. That tells me that he is committed to winning and regrets not giving a better effort. It wasn't like the plays you used to see out of whimps like Randy Moss who would take plays off all the time.

One of my biggest concerns with EJ right now is his tendency to make bad decisions on 3rd down. It seems like he doesn't always know where he is on the field and where the first down marker is. He likes to run out of bounds short of the first down on 3rd downs. And it keeps happening game after game after game. That is very alarming to me. Didn't Chan Gailey kick Trent Edwards to the curb for doing that very same thing? I think that was the deciding factor that allowed Fitzpatrick to become the starter back then. EJ is doing what Edwards used to do. He is afraid to take a chance in those situations. He is afraid to take a hit. Or maybe the coaches are insisting that he run out of bounds short of a first down if someone is going to hit him. I don't know whose decision it really is there. I think it is probably on EJ. And that makes me think he is treating football as a profession and not an obsession. And if he isn't obsessed with winning at all costs, then I don't want him as my starting quarterback. I certainly wouldn't pull the plug on him here as that would be way to premature. But, he has to start correcting those mistakes. That throwaway safety in the end zone is totally unacceptable and is yet another example of him not having his head in the game.

I know. There is no way EJ has played bad enough to lose the starting job after one loss this year. Gimme a break.. If EJ sucks game after game then its different. But he has to play for the time being without question. Benching him now would be completely crazy and would also ensure that the entire coaching staff would get fired at the end of the year.

Your O-line needs to be good no doubt. But a good offensive line can be overpowered at will by overloading one side or the other any time they want to. Or just by throwing in a blitz package that the offense hasn't seen before. That is why you have to have a quarterback who can beat you under pressure. EJ showed he could beat the defense 1 time today that was an absolutely awesome play. The rest of the game, he looked like a typical sucky qb who can't handle pressure at all. Rookie to the core today. He has to play better or this team sucks going forward. Offensive line or not, you have to have better QB play than that.

On the field yes.... But position for position I only give them credit for being better at Tight End and QB. Bills team talent matches up well otherwise. The opportunity was there for a Bills win today. Bills got out coached for sure especially their offense vs our defense. And the Bills got outplayed at pretty much every level. That is pretty sad when it is a home game. It felt like somebody forgot to tell Schwartz that San Diego has a good quarterback....

They didn't even respond after half time. That is very worrisome. The second half was just a continuation of the things they did wrong in the first half. Yikes! What happened to those great half time adjustments? What happened to the Bills being a second half team?

Orton has already proved he can't take a good team to the promised land. Get over it. We live or die with EJ like it or not. And if he plays consistently like today we die a quick death. First two games were decent. Let's see next week.

That Chargers' passing is about as good as the Patriots passing game. And not as good as Detroit. God help us when we play those two. Schwartz has to call a better game than that. Or the Bills get smoked worse in those two games.

So to the people who say that EJ plays better under pressure....how good was he today under pressure? Not so much huh? I don't understand why he wasn't blitzed more in the previous two weeks... But I fear he will definitely be blitzed more often in the future.....He couldn't handle pressure at all today with the exception of one "truly awesome" play. Teams will blitz him. Get ready for it.

That was a total stud play...... I just wish we saw that more often....unfortunately that type of play has been too rare thus far....if he did that more often, you would definitely hear less bitching...

How is that not a Hackett problem? Seriously? Last game was much better. This game=sucked except for the one creative half back option pass.

Huge lines at the gate today. Still got in within 5 minutes.....This is the only thing the Bills did right today... These gates are a win.....something to cheer about.
