For years I have had a hatred for the Steelers. Mainly for the reason that the Bills could not beat them. But honestly, since Cowher is gone, I feel less disdain for them. I respect the guy as a skilled coach, but I hated him as a Steeler coach. Plus I couldn't stand the fact that once you get like an hour south of Buffalo you start running into Steeler fans. I spent some time in Columbus Ohio, it was full of Steeler fans. Couldn't believe people weren't Cincinnati fans living that close to them. Nope...Steeler fans.... Happy to see the Ravens beating them. Even though I really don't care for them either. But the Ravens are my defacto team to root for because they have been pretty good at beating the Steelers and also beating the Patriots.

How will Henderson hold up this week against Wake?

I think the solution to the problem is to do Jumbotron video commercials where they portray a fan as being a numskull when they are screaming while their team is on offense getting ready to snap the ball. I know it sounds harsh because it is really hard to knock someone for being a fan. I just wish those fans would realize they are not helping their team but actually hurting it. It is unbelievable that someone would pay the kinds of prices it costs to go to a professional football game when they really don't know basic football etiquette. I shake my head at this during pretty much every game at the Ralph. -
Cam Newton's bizarre press conference
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watch this..... Some Caucasian television commentator is going to refer to the Lions defender as Donkey Kong Suh...... Then the rest of the media is going to chastise him and call for his resignation. He will get fired as if he was Jimmy The Greek! Somebody will then blame Roger Goodell for the whole thing. And Goodell will be forced to resign for being a racist even though he didn't do anything wrong. If this actually happens, I will tell you who will win the Superbowl. -

Not with this fanbase. As per usual there will be thousands of Bills fans yelling when the Bills are on offense. The typical "Come on EJ" or "Let's go EJ" stuff like that. Apparently there are many Western NY dads who did not do a good job of teaching their kids that you are supposed to be quiet when your offense has the ball. I predict there will be moments in this game where the Bills own offense won't be able to hear the play called because the fans are too noisy. Bet on it. -
I see.... So you are raging mad at Ray Rice for TKO'ing his girlfriend/wife. And because of that, you are taking out your aggression on Roger Goodell. It is like you are holding Roger Goodell accountable for all the duechebags in America who beat their wives/girlfriends. It just doesn't make sense to me. Why don't you direct your rage at Ray Rice instead of Roger Goodell? Wouldn't you agree that the real person to blame for wrongdoing here is Ray Rice? Come on man.... If you are really that mad and want to defend all women on behalf of your daughter, then why don't you go hunt down Ray Rice and punch him in the face? Eye for an eye kind of deal? Then that will make the news and everyone can say he got what was coming to him. You are absolutely correct. This is nothing more than the media pushing people's emotional buttons so that it gets people mad and makes them pay attention. That way people tune in with their eyes and ears glued to the ongoing saga. That is how the media makes money. It is a shame how small a percentage of Americans actually realizes this is what they are doing.

That's cool. I honestly can't relate to how mad and worked up a lot of people have gotten about this whole thing. Ray Rice is a deuche. He is now basically out of the NFL because he got caught being a thug on video. I thought Goodell did his job. I think Goodell probably thought the accusations weren't as bad as they sounded. Players get accused of things all the time. So he had a light penalty at first. Then he sees the video and realizes that it is worse than he every thought. So Ray Rice gets suspended. And now people want to hang Goodell for not suspending him originally. And they are accusing him of lying about the video. I may be wrong but I believed him when he said he didn't see the video earlier. So I see the whole thing as Roger Goodell being made a scapegoat for the thug like behavior of Ray Rice. And that is a shame in my opinion. I just think the general public should butt out of it. Leave all this to Ray Rice, his wife, their families and the police. It's not about football. The whole thing has been blown way out of porportion just like the OJ trial was. That is my opinion.

Then the answer is no. It hasn't devalued the NFL. Not even a little in my opinion. People are desensitized to this stuff more than some on here will admit. Just look at music videos and the crap you see in there. This stuff is everywhere. If people want to make stopping domestic violence a major national issue, then start somewhere like fixing videos like this one:

Cam Newton's bizarre press conference
PolishDave replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was freaking hilarious. I'm guessing that Cam keeps a hookah pipe in his car. I am going to start calling people that randomly. What up Donkey Kong Suh? Don't go all Donkey Kong Suh on me! You stupid Donkey Kong Suh Mother F*****! Don't make me b-slap your ass like Donkey Kong Suh! -
I agree. I hope the stadium stays in OP or else has superior access to it if moved.

They have been conditioned to think that way. It is a natural response. It is similar to what happened with Pavlov's dog. It is as conditioned as the habit of a smoker lighting a cigarette right after dinner. It is as conditioned as 14 year old popping a chub when he gets his first glance at a nudie mag. They simply can't help it.

Or you can take 90 to 219 and get off at Ridge road. Take ridge to Orchard Park road. Right at 5 corners onto Southwestern Blvd. That allows you to stay on the 90 a little bit farther for faster traffic but allows you to get off before it gets super slow near Milestrip.

lol....awesome sarcasm Following the heated discussions in this thread is like watching an episode of Jerry Springer. I feel dumber for watching it. Yet I can't look away. Watching people argue that Goodell should somehow be fired for something that Ray Rice did is like drilling a hole in my head and slowly draining any intelligence I had left in there. Pretty soon I will be giggling awkwardly like a ten year old who has been playing video games for 48 hours straight jacked up on Pepsi's and Cheetos. Num...num..num...

You are right to worry about that to some extent. But don't worry too much. This game is going to be won or lost on the ground by Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller. Manuel will get in a couple long shots. But, I doubt there is going to be a lot of throwing the ball. Not much shotgun. Mostly play action from under center. I expect a relatively boring game from the offense standpoint. But I'll take it as long as the Bills win. Move the chains & protect the rock. The Bills only lose this game if they lose the turnover battle.

I don't think you read my posts in this thread dude.....otherwise you wouldn't say that. You only read one post. I am against governments subsidizing football or any other sport. It is foolish. They would be better off putting that money elsewhere on things that benefit everyone, not just football fans. Better yet, they would be better off not taxing people so much in the first place. And keep their noses out of sports.

I am amazed at how much people care about this stuff to be honest. One guy in the NFL is exposed as being a douche who abuses his girlfriend/wife. The NFL finds out about it and suspends him indefinitely. Seems like they handled it pretty well to me. Why would anyone in the NFL be worried for their jobs besides Ray Rice? Why does anyone else even care? This isn't even about football beyond the fact that the Ravens lost their running back. Who doesn't have a skeleton or two in his closet?

Nice write up Lothar. Thanks. I am a little more optimistic going into Sunday now.
