  1. The major problem your trades is that they are unrealistic. Teams would move up further if that's what they'd be willing to give up. Cleveland should be able to get to 4 with the package you suggest. Some team picking between 4 and 9 would make that deal before it got to Buffalo at 10.
  2. Thanks! Gilmore is worth his contract to a team that'll use him in the right scheme where he can press and have help over top (like Cover 2). Woods is, well, a pretty big projection. It's been said repeatedly here that Watkins would have much better stats if the Bills passed more. Well, the Rams are gambling that such is the case with Woods. He certainly seems competent, but he's definitely getting paid above that level now.
  3. Top 10: 1. QB 2. WR2 4. CB1 3. RT 4. S 5. CB3 6. WR3 7. TE 8. DT 9. LB 10. OG
  4. Thanks! Good point on the value of the signing the Bills did make.
  5. It probably makes sense in the context of McD's predominantly Cover 3 scheme to not spend big on CBs. From a difference maker standpoint we lost one in Gilmore and didn't replace him with another player of that caliber. The Hyde signing was our best get in FA. He rates between Gilmore and Woods. Beyond that it's mostly depth and stopgap players. Still, they'll be some of this sort of thing when a new scheme is implemented and the cap is pretty tight. Definitely some holes left to fill, but Whaley did a good job for the situation he (at least partially) put himself in.
  6. I agree. There's different ways to look at the question. Biggest bust? Williams. He's a guy that was supposed to be great, but never amounted to anything in the NFL. Then there are WTF?!?! moments. Maybin. That was just a stupid pick. Also Whitner deserves an honorable mention if we are talking about reaches. I can blast the Bills for the last two, but they just got unlucky with Williams. That at least made sense when it happened.
  7. Sure would be a nice bonus if Listenbee panned out.
  8. The big FA money is gone. There are dozens of players that were expecting a big payday, but didn't get it. Now they have to come to terms with the lesser offers that are still out there.
  9. Decent player. He's a better guard than tackle, but he wants to play right tackle which carries a premium on pay. He'd definitely be an upgrade over Mills.
  10. Hooker or Adams over Davis per the question as asked. I skipped them because they won't be there at 10.
  11. Anyone pining for Bryant or Gordon has no business complaining about Dareus.
  12. A real possibility. He's going to go a lot higher than many think.
  13. Jon Allen by virtue of him being the best player available. Corey Davis would be my alternate, depending upon Allen's medicals.
  14. I'd be surprised if CB were in the mix. McD's Cover 3 doesn't require a big investment in the position. No need to go after a CB to play bail at 10.
  15. We need help at TE. OJ Howard could certainly be that help, but in this deep of a draft at TE I'm not sure I go that route at 10.
  16. QBs with less powerful arms need elite accuracy to compensate. Brees and Montana certainly have/had that. Watson does not at this point in time. It's actually more of a concern with him. Like any other attribute, one thing doesn't determine the success or failure of a player. Certain attributes don't improve a player's chance of success if they are well above the accepted minimum threshold - velocity is one of those. But in a case where a player lacks in one important area it can prevent his success. That's the concern here.
  17. That shouldn't make me laugh EVERY time you do it, but it does.
  18. Just happened. Severe lower leg injury. Hope he recovers. Stephen Cohen‏Verified account @ scohenPI 29m 29 minutes ago Washington CB Sidney Jones, consensus first-round NFL draft prospect, leaves pro day on a cart after suffering apparent left leg injury.
  19. The bullpen comparison is terrible. A pitcher isn't graded on his warm ups, he's graded on pitching live or in a game simulation where he would warm up and then pitch as if he was in a real game. His velocity in those two situations should be the same. What's most concerning about a low velocity at the Combine is that there's no reason a QBs mechanics shouldn't be as perfect as that QB is currently capable of. The more common problem is a great velocity at the Combine where there is no pass rush or distraction due to reading a defense/calling audibles/etc., but seeing a worse velocity in game situations due to a player's mechanics breaking down.
  20. http://www.spotrac.c...falo-bills/cap/ $27.4M right now. That doesn't include 5 of the recent signings. That'll reduce it somewhat, though they shouldn't be big money deals. Rookie pool will be about $6M. Then there's always a few million saved for use during the season. Let's see where we are when the dust settles from those deals.
