  1. Good depth signing at CB assuming he was paid as such.
  2. It was more about giving up the 9th pick in the draft as well as the biggest WR contract for a 30 yr old WR. If we are talking a more reasonable trade, then I’d be in - even with a contract like AB’s.
  3. The only thing that would prevent me from making the proposed trade is Julio’s age. If he was 27 I’d be all for it. As it stands, no.
  4. Tyrod trade is iactually the only impressive thing on the list.
  5. Just wanted to chime in and say that somehow, someway I’m not at all in on Metcalf.
  6. The outfits do seem warm.
  7. They want to work out a LTD with him. He’s open to playing under the tag as well. Sadly, he’s going nowhere.
  8. He’s worked well with Mayfield. I expect any reasonable offer sheet to get matched by the Browns.
  9. Technically teams trade contracts - not players - so if a deal was made in good faith, then there would have to be a clause regarding alternate compensation or reversal. I do not know how common that is.
  10. I agree. Probably a late first round pick at worst. We’d need to trade back from 9 or up from 41. i misread the post I quoted. I thought he meant he’d use the late first on Samuel and thought I’d rather have Campbell.
  11. Beane and McD have talked about the kinds of people they are and want on this team. I’m not looking for a team of choir boys. That’s not what this is about. And I want to win. But AB is the antithesis of what they’ve said they want. They aren’t walking the talk and I’m disappointed. That comes more from them BSing everyone as opposed to just giving us all a more honest and reasonable assessment of their approach.
  12. Sorry, man, it happens. The Steelers were paying AB a crap ton of money and that didn’t stop him from bailing on the last game of the season with playoffs on the line. It didn’t stop him from trashing his QB either. No team wants to give up substantial draft capital and invest big time money into a player unless they can expect effort and reasonably good behavior. IMO the Bills did the right thing bailing on the deal upon hearing AB didn’t want to come here. But they did the wrong thing by even investigating bringing a spoiled brat like him onto this team. Other than being a phenomenal player in the field (when he chooses to actually play) he’s exactly the opposite of what this regime has said they were about.
  13. AJ Green would be a great pick up. He’s in the last year of his contract and the Bengals haven’t even attempted to sign him to a new contract. That would make me think he was available. But there’s one big problem. He’s the only WR on the team that is worth anything at all. That makes me think they won’t trade him.
  14. Shrimp cocktail and a steak at St. Elmo’s is a very nice evening. I’ve been there twice.
  15. That’s not the only deal they’re trying to make. I’m not sure how far along they are with any of them though. Of course they could have deals in place with free agents too
  16. The Collins release was about clearing cap space for other moves. He was expensive for the uneven performance he was giving.
  17. Thanks. Not a problem. Not a lot of people outside of Clevelandera/Browns fans know the whole story - and even some of them don’t. I will say this though - after building the new baseball park and arena the city did drag its feet on a new NFL stadium for Modell.
  18. Best: Godfather II Worst: Highlander 2. In addition to being a terrible movie on its own it also ruins the first movie.
  19. The Browns and Jags have been in discussions. I’m sure the Browns would love Ramsey, but I doubt he’s available. Malik Jackson makes a lot more sense. Jags need to clear cap space for Foles, draft picks, etc.
  20. Couple points of clarification from someone who lived through all of that. Minor point - Belichick wasn’t fired until after the move. Major point - Cleveland was negotiating with Modell on a new stadium, but he had already found a sweeter deal with Baltimore. They weren’t going to let him use them as leverage so he kept the deal quiet and simply rejected everything Cleveland offered him. His criticism of the plot next to Jacob’s Field was that not was “too loud”. Notably the deal he got was very similar to the expansion team deal Baltimore offered the NFL. A deal he helped kill. Cleveland could have been more proactive, but they were out of it before it started.
  21. The only claim I made is that there are people with the Browns org that fear it might happen. They aren’t the only ones around the league. That’s why you aren’t seeing a lot of two year deals right now. Players want either a 1 year deal so they can cash in next season or a 3+ year deal to cash in bigger now.
  22. You are correct. He’s on board. Dorsey is trying to win NOW. Fear of a work stoppage (lockout) in 2021 is part of it.
