  1. so you think we would get sacked on every pass attempt?
  2. I hope the defenses put 8 in the box. Even with just 3 WR in play in man coverage, at least one will get open. More than 3, someone definitely open. Defenses usually will try to stop the run first, no matter what, so I think that will be the choice against us. Hopefully, our defense will get us a couple short field opportunities that will result in points and more pressure on the other offense to open it up, which is what we want.
  3. So basically, every comment about the 1 year deal he agreed to and the cap ramifications were all wrong. I'm sure because of this , everyone here will wait til all the facts are out before they pass judgment.
  4. You should just admit you were wrong in saying that teams will use an 8 man front against us. It will only happen when we are on the opponents goal line. Our QB's aren't great, but they aren't horrible either.
  5. I would think they would go for a tackle. Not sure you can count on Henderson, he really wasn't very effective last season.
  6. I know it's easy to blame Marrone for the line problems last year, but it really does point toward something being done wrong last year. Would be great for us if that was the case and the new staff would fix those issues. Makes life much easier.
  7. i think the point was, if you can't block well as a starter, why would you expect him to block well as a backup when inserted in the game. The biggest benefit with Urbik would be familiarity with linemates, which is significant.
  8. every WR probably has made a tough catch or 2 in their careers, doesn't mean they could be a successful CB. Maybe he could do it, but he's not even that good of a WR, you make it sound too simple to convert from WR to CB, it's not like it happens all the time. It took Gilmore a couple years to become the solid CB we hoped for , you're expecting Hogan to be good enough without a couple year learning curve? For some reason people find certain players they become infatuated with and can't come to grips with the fact that they might not be as good as they want him to be. Hogan might be one of those.
  9. except when he drops the ball, which happened a number of times last year. Can't wait for training camp, then hopefully these ridiculous threads with equally ridiculous comments might go away for a while. If this was a sarcastic post , I apologize. I mean, I hope this was a sarcastic post.
  10. When we sign a free agent, there are basically 2 reactions- 1- good signing, fills a need for us. or 2.) what about cap space, we overpaid...i think we could just draft someone in round 3 and get equal production....
  11. The transition tag of $7 million already counts against their cap for 2015, so they wouldn't have to make any more moves, if they did sign him to a long term deal, it would probably reduce their hit for this season.
  12. do you think you understand cap value better then NFL teams do? What would you like our salary figure to be? would you like us to be $10 million under, 15?... how about we spend it all and try to improve the team as much as possible.
  13. you seem to be pretty hung up on how to spend other people's money.
  14. But you have no idea what the Bills are looking for in personnel and they do.
  15. it makes you question the deal, not me. I am one of those that doesn't get all worked up about the salary cap. I just want great players on the team. I will let the Pegula's worry about paying the bills.
  16. He's not that great of a WR so why not. Then when he fails , he has no job.
  17. something that should be easy to coach, apparently.
  18. Regarding the O-Line, Icognito was a move to improve it. Glenn and Woods are likely staying put. The coaching staff may feel good with some of the young player and Chris Williams to improve from last year. Also, there will likely be cuts after June 1st and with that another opportunity to bring in other players. You can't fill every hole , but there is still time if they wish to try.
  19. I haven't followed everything the dolphins have done, obviously signing Suh and getting Stills,Cameron.... how have they gutted their roster? Seems like the saved some money getting rid of Wallace. I think Miami has a better handle on their cap situation then anyone here.
  20. There probably aren't many guards or TE's left that will command big dollars other than Clay
  21. that's what happens when you sign high profile free agents. It's expected and ok. We could be way below the cap but would probably stink. When we hit the cap, we stop spending. Simple
  22. We do have QB's that can throw to these WR's. Cassell may not be a star, but when he was surrounded by talent, he has performed well.
  23. of course it's not irrelevant, but as i have and so have many others stated here, the team is much more aware of their situation then we are. I guess I can't get over everyone seeming to understand the implications more then the team. The cap goes up considerably each year, teams are loaded with money to help restructure existing deals to create even more space. It's rarely a concern for a team, unless, like new orleans, you go all out in one year and it doesn't pan out. Cap is expected to go up 10 million next year, maybe again in 2017. I think people are looking for a silver lining to Miami and other teams signing lots of talent.
  24. so many people can't get over focusing on the cap. Since they are signing people and still have cap space, I'm guessing they can afford it. Face it, Dolphins are improving their team, no matter how we twist it.
  25. if they keep getting more good players , it's bad for the rest of the AFC East
