  1. They may not be 'one third' in the number of plays, but each special teams play probably has more impact on the overall game then many of the plays run from the offense/defense. Every FG attempt involves points, punts/kickoffs involve field position and most every play can be a huge momentum swing and impact then next few possessions. The impact of a downed punt at the one yard line early in the third quarter could impact field position for a few series much more than a 3 and out at the 30.
  2. There was a game against the Rams, home opener I believe, the punt returner was cut by the Bills and did some talking. Tasker leveled him on the first punt. That might be the play you're referring to. Vernon Turner was the victim.
  3. Not sure this is totally accurate, he had some very good success with Sanchez for a few years. Success that we would be thrilled with for the next couple years.
  4. Not that they were similar in any way, but I remember some fans getting tired of Marv's personality too, I think it's natural, unless, or sometimes even if your are successful for people to want something different, we are impatient and often see the grass is greener on the other side.
  5. Hester might be the best kick returner of all time. So possibly.
  6. Bill Parcels said they spent a lot of time focusing on Tasker before Super Bowl XXV, I think that says a lot.
  7. A couple plays stand out - against the Raiders, Tim Brown, at the time the best punt returner, tripped him up for no gain after the catch, Brown shook his hand on the great play. I think the 2nd Raider playoff game, took a line drive , short kickoff , fielded it cleanly and ran it back to inside the 10. I was at the Meadowlands sitting with Jets fans when Tasker made a great play, the Jet fan sitting next to me said, I love that guy, he's a monster. He was great, should be in the Hall.
  8. I just made the same comment on the BN article link. Henderson was not good last year.
  9. OJ was a special player. Thurman was tremendous and deservedly in the HOF, but from a running standpoint, I'm biased, but I've still never seen a more graceful, fast runner than OJ. It was amazing to watch him run. It seemed like he never got touched, sweep to OJ and watch him just pull away from everyone.
  10. Maybe a fun exercise, but totally useless. So many factors go into this. Weather conditions, opponent, score, field position.... , every game is different. One game watkins may catch 10 balls, 2 the next, ...., if we're winning late, we will run more, losing we will pass more
  11. what if we just start signing all low end players, that should keep our cap way down. Or if we're really lucky, Bradham and Gilmore will have bad years too.
  12. Preseason doesn't count. Someone needs to explain to me why they thought Henderson played so well at RT that he could move to LT? He did not play well at RT. Watch the games.
  13. I agree Seantrel had a terrible year, but I wonder where you see the potential? I guess everyone has potential, but he got worse as the season wore on, maybe new coach/system will help but I think the Bills are looking for a new tackle before another guard.
  14. It will be the bar with the large women wearing doug flutie jerseys, and they will be very loud.
  15. 630 for me, maybe 730, clocks should change by then I think
  16. Yes, the NFL said it would be free. but what about the cap?
  17. I'm an out of town fan and I don't see this as a bummer. It will be on HD on the NFL.com site. I will hook up my laptop to the TV and watch the game. I've done this before for preseason games from a much lesser website and had not experienced problems. I will wait til something goes wrong before I start to B word about it.
  18. I've watched Thursday Night Football on my smartphone, the quality was amazing, HD. I would expect this to be of excellent quality also. This is a big step for the NFL, they will make this work well. I was wondering after the blackout rule was changed, what Bills fans would find to complain about next.... this is it.
  19. except for 2013 and 2014 where he was very good.
  20. Don't know why you think he's moved on from wanting to be a starter, everything he's said is that he wants to start, he was starting last year before his injury, and he's only 32, perfect age for a QB.
  21. what makes a good backup ? I understand the thought process, but basically, if he's not a good starter, chances are he's not a very good backup. If the expectations are incredibly low for backups, and it may be these days, then that might make him a good backup.
  22. If he could make the passes as a backup, why not as a starter? Same pass patterns , right? Same guy throwing the ball? He's probably both an average starter and average backup.
